My answer is not necessarily the best, but it is one worth checking out because of other benefits: Woopra.

Woopra is a real-time stats package; the main function is not real time chat. One of its features, however, is a real time chat client. The client can be popped open by the site visitor, similar to what you see on many ecommerce sites or - somewhat unique - forced open by the Woopra user if you spot behavior that warrants it (keep in mind the potential creepiness of that one for most sites).

If your needs run towards an analytics package other than Google, real time data, and chat, Woopra is a nice option.

Thank you for your response.  Let me try to clarify my question.

Our clients our plastic surgeons.  We have a few practices that have more than one doctor practicing at that location.  For our group practices, I want the author picture to be of all the doctors.  So, when someone searches for plastic surgery and our practice is listed, I want the group picture in the SERP also.

For example, the search query for Houston Plastic Surgery is this http://markup.io/v/c8yq0r2tqk0h.  Museum District Aesthetic Plastic Surgery has a profile picture of both doctors because two doctors work there.

I want to be able to recreate what Museum District Aesthetic Plastic Surgery did.  Has anyone had success with a profile picture displayed in a SERP of more than one person?

Google now includes pictures of authors in the results of the pages.  Therefore, a single practice doctor can include her picture into Google's SERP (http://markup.io/v/dqpyajgz7jkd).

How can a multi doctor practice display the practice's picture as opposed to a single doctor?

I am relatively new to the world of SEO . . . let's say I'm still testing the waters.

My role is at the company I work for is Local Search Specialist. I'm claiming/verifying/publishing listings for my employer's clients in attributing search directories. Yada yada yada. You guys are pros.

Anyway, I have become apprehensive when listing a client's email in directories besides Google Places. I know that content matching between the client's website, Places, and attributing directories is a must; but spam is the worst. I'm trying to avoid spammers and sketchy directories contact the clients with sales pitches via email as much as possible.

Should I create an additional email specifically for these directory listings and keep tabs to see if real people are using it as a means of contact? Not list the email at all? What should I do?!?!?!?!?!?!?

Any insight/words of wisdom is appreciated!

It is the last situation mentioned - why PPC advertisers are not targeting other national brands (Brand A paying to show on Brand B) that I was primarily asking about.

It may be that I am simply being filtered out by the PPC ads that are in the system for brand keywords (wisely, I might add, if that's the case). But I can reproduce these results using proxies, and I can reproduce them using different geographic locations. The brand pages are often much quieter than any small brand keyword search and my mentioned ones show almost devoid of competing ads.

If a brand were paying for top position, that hardly precludes other ads in the lower positions on the page.

Any other thoughts? Is the lack of competing PPC ads perhaps the result of lots of direct contact, asking other advertisers to lay off their trademark targeting?

Are you able to reproduce my national brand searches with PPC ads each time? Here's a screenshot. I see only one brand ad for each of my big brand examples:

Google's policy is to allow other businesses to run PPC ads against your business name, even when trademarked, so long as the ads don't include the trademarked name. At least that's what I have experienced and read online.

Why do so many national brands have no PPC ads showing on their names in Google searches?

1. So, are there any different policies at Google Adwords RE: national brands and having competitor's ads show on their names?
2. How do the major brands block the advertisers on their names?
