I am working on a large ecommerce site right now. I am adding a blog to the site for content purposes. I have been going back and forth on this question, and wanted to get your opinions.

Should I integrate the blog into the ecommerce site with the full ecommerce header and/or sidebar, or should I have the blog just be a well designed theme and strip all the ecommerce functionality for it.

I would think that people would be more apt to share and link to content if it wasnt surrounded by links to product category pages and the like.

Thoughts?

I was doing some research today and kept coming across this site sylvane.com I checked OSE and found that it only has a DA of 37 PA of 35, and only 79 linking domains (966 links total).

Anyway, accroding to SEMRush, this site ranks for over 6,000 keywords. I ran content on a couple of their high ranking pages and the content is not unique, at least not very unique on the pages I checked.

What is so special about that site that google is giving it so much love? I am not trying to call them out, I just want to know what this site is doing to garner the favor of google when I have a site in the same niche with a higher DA, PA, linking domains, and social signals.

Look at google analytics for your keywords. Look at the keywords that have high bounce rates. Then, look at the pages of your site that have the highest bounce rate. Look for ways to improve conversions by finding out if the keyword with a high bounce rate is bringing traffic to the wrong page. For instance, you could have your homepage ranked, where a product page in that same rank would actually convert better. You have to be careful with this, but it is worth a look if your bounce rates are extremely high for certain keywords.

Take a look at the pages with low bounce rates and compare them to the pages with high bounce rates. Look at these pages as a consumer. Why are some pages converting and other are not? By analyzing what is working, you can make changes to the pages with high bounce rates and increase conversions.

This is a great question, and one for which I searching for answers. The company that I do in house SEO for has a mobile version of the website on a subfolder. The mobile site has around 8,000 pages indexed. However, when I search google from my android it only returns results for the non-mobile version of the site.

I thought google would appreciate us taking the time to create a mobile site, and reward us by displaying the mobile version in their mobile search results. As far as google is concerned, the only way to get to the mobile site is to find the mobile link on our regular site. Again, 8,000 mobile pages are indexed in google (and I have verified this).
