Here, I have big confusion. Page 2, Page 3 and so on have similar page title and meta description which is available on Page 1.
Will Google show me error about duplicate page title and meta description after remove NOINDEX FOLLOW?
Today, I have watched very interesting video on YouTube about Pagination and SEO.
I have implemented pagination with rel="next" and rel="prev" on my paginated page. You can get more idea by visit following pages.
www.vistastores.com/patio-umbrellas
www.vistastores.com/patio-umbrellas?p=2
www.vistastores.com/patio-umbrellas?p=3
I have added NOINDEX FOLLOW attribute to page 2, page 3 and so on. There is simple question from my side. Can I remove NOINDEX FOLLOW attribute from paginated page or not?
I have big confusion & issues when paginated URLs contain search parameters. You can get more idea by visiting following URLs.
http://www.vistastores.com/patio-umbrellas?dir=asc&order=name&p=2
http://www.vistastores.com/patio-umbrellas?dir=asc&order=name&p=3
What is best suggestion for this kind of pages?
My ecommerce [www.vistastores.com] website does not have issue due to change or URLs. I rarely change category page URLs and product page URLs. But, I'm facing issue due to narrow by search. If any attribute will remove from narrow by search so 100 pages will convert to 404 due to dynamic structure. That's why I'm setting up 301 redirect to category page URLs from all dynamic pages.
I have concern to reduce 301 redirect and broken links in website. But, I'm not able to stop it. Google may restrict my organic performance due to continue broken links on website and non associated 301 redirect.
No, I don't want to create romance on my website with 404. EGOL & you have mentioned same about visitors and back links. Now, I have some good feeling after reading 20K redirect which is maintain by you. 8.5K is not big for me.
Oh Jesus... This is strong reason Why I'm your big fan since a member on SEO Chat forum. I got your point. OR We can edit hyperlink on external website by email them... Right?
Today, I was reading latest blog post on SEOmoz blog about. Uncrawled 301s - A Quick Fix for When Relaunches Go Too Well
This is very interesting study about 301 & How it useful to maintain traffic. I'm working on eCommerce website and I have done similar stuff on my website. I have big confusion to manage 301 redirect.
My website generates new URLs due to following actions.
I'm managing my 301 redirect with old practice. Excel sheet data from Google webmaster tools and set specific new URLs for redirect. Hoooo... Now, I have 8.5K redirect in htaccess... And, I'm thinking it's too much.
Can we remove old 301 redirect from htaccess or not? This is big question for me. Because, all pages are not hyperlink on external website. Google have just de-indexed old URLs and indexed new URLs. So, Is it require to maintain 301 redirect after Google process?
I want to improve or recover Google image search performance for my eCommerce website. My website was working well in Google image search but, I found negative performance since implementation of CDN for all images.
Before CDN my image path was as follow.
After CDN my image path is as follow.
I can see that, Google image search performance is going down after set up CDN on my website. Because, all images are available on external server.
So, How to recover Google image search performance after CDN or any idea to improve performance?
Thanks for your reply. Honestly, I did not want to digging more on this question after getting your first reply. But, I just assumed that, I may get some additional information from your experience. Finally, I'm going to Mark as answered.
No need to say sorry! That's my pleasure to read such a fabulous reply. I got your point about user interest. Google may track that data by Google Analytics. What you think about it?
My website's link is available on SEOmoz and getting visits from there. That user may spend more time on my website because all Mozzers are eager to read or know about new websties... Am I right?
If I'm on sewing tutorial forum and getting visits which have huge bounce rate so Google can assume that... inbound link is quite in-relevant which is available on sewing tutorial forum... This is my assumption how Google can take care user interest about inbound links...
Again, I'm ready to read your valuable reply...
Thanks for your reply. I have read blog posts which were suggested by you. I don't want to add these much Meta to my blog.
You can find out current code which is available for Meta.
<b:include data="blog" name="all-head-content"><title><data:blog.pageTitle/></title></b:include>
Can you give me some idea about this code? Where I need to make changes?
I'm managing my blog on Blogger platform. I have published 7 blog posts to my patio umbrellas blog.
Today, I have published following blog post to my blog.
http://vistastores.blogspot.com/2012/03/offset-umbrellas-awesome-choice-for.html
When I see page title so it is shows me as follow.
Patio Umbrellas Blog: Offset Umbrellas: Awesome choice for good quality time outside!
I want to remove Patio Umbrellas Blog: segment from each blog posts' page title.
I can't find out Meta description in my blog posts. So, How can I make it happen?
I'm 100% agree with you. If we are talking about inbound links from different subject website so what about discussion board. I'm quite active on SEOmoz and getting inbound links from SEOmoz.
Both websites are available with different subject so, will it mesh up my organic ranking?
Today, I was watching video about Is cross-linking websites bad? on Google Webmaster YouTube channel.
I've big confusion on this subject because, I have made big changes on this factor. I have removed my website link from two websites.
Both websites are top to link my website. But, I have removed it due to certain issue. I have hyperlink following page with Patio Umbrellas keyword.
http://www.vistastores.com/patio-umbrellas
I know that, I have to maintain my inbound link statistics and that's why I'm going to add my website link with Patio Umbrellas text link to my clients' websites.
I have already added it to certain clients' websites and going to add in another clients' websites.
You can review my link in footer.
http://www.tikitorchbargains.com/
http://www.firepitbargains.com/
http://www.curtainrodbargains.com/
These websites have similar subject to my website. Now, websites' subject is totally different to my website where I will my text link in footer.
After big explanation:: I have one big question. Will it help me to out rank well with Patio Umbrellas keyword?
Do you have any experience about positive performance or negative performance?
Is it advisable or not? If no so why?
Thanks...

I got your point. What you think about page rank? Can I pass maximum page rank to my product pages. It may increase my organic ranking during long trail keywords.
Hi Aran,
You have given me such a good example of HTML sitemap. But, I was thinking to distribute page rank at product page level. So, It may help me to improve ranking over my product pages. What you think about it?
I've developed very simple HTML sitemap on Vista Stores. Today, I was checking Magento extensions and come to know about such a great extension. That will help me to create such a large HTML sitemap on my website similar to following one.
http://wiredsport.com/sitemap/
http://www.breathalyzers.com/sitemap/
Which is best structure for HTML sitemap & Which are benefits to develop big HTML sitemap with all pages?
This is really silly question to ask over here! But, I have to drop my mind bubble after long R & D and efforts!
Right now, I am working on Patio Umbrellas keyword and want to out rank with following landing page.
http://www.vistastores.com/patio-umbrellas
I have implemented too many ways on this page since January 2012. Right now, my website is in top 20 position with this keyword.
I want to achieve top 10 ranking with Patio Umbrellas keyword. Now, I have certain limitation to make changes on web page. This is client requirement. So, I have to drill down more with link building.
I have started work on link building on since February 2012 and rank well with keyword. Now, I'm searching for link building way which help me to improve ranking in short time frame.
I don't want to do any single activity on this page which is UN-productive for me. If you have any on page inputs so it may help me more.
SEOmoz is really big source to search and justify answer but, I want to add expert advice in it.
Thanks,
Can I share one video to multiple video sharing sites?
Good to know! But, I have very bad experience to redirect such a strong page to home page. I have removed too many product pages for market umbrellas from my website and redirect it to home page. Because, I don't have specific landing page or inner level page for it. So, I'm able to see change over ranking for specific keywords. My home page is ranking well in Market Umbrellas keyword because too many external page link my product page with that keyword. It also create negative ranking impression for my actual targeted keyword which I'm using for my home page.
Hi Ben,
I got your point. If my page is available on external page which have good value (Good page rank or heavy amount of traffic) so, I need to redirect it on specific internal page to save my page rank flow. Right?
I'm using Google webmaster tools and able to see Not found Crawl errors. I have set up custom 404 page for all broken links. You can see my custom 404 page as follow.
http://www.vistastores.com/404
But, I have question about it.
Will it require to set 301 redirect for broken links which found in Google webmaster tools?
I have set canonical to all narrow by search URLs. I think, it's not working well. You can get more idea by following URLs.
http://www.vistastores.com/table-lamps?material_search=1328
http://www.vistastores.com/table-lamps?finish_search=146
These kind of page have canonical tag which is pointing to following one.
http://www.vistastores.com/table-lamps
Because, it's actual page which I want to out rank.
But, all narrow by search URLs have very different products compare to base URLs. So, How can we say it duplicate one?
Which is best solution for it. Canonical or NOINDEX it by Robots?
Good to know! Thanks for your reply.
I'm Indian and like to cook South Indian Masala Dosa...
Try it.. You will get some unique one and enjoy it lot...
Don't forget to send me reply after test it...
I have question regarding inbound links from different subject websites. We are selling home decor products on our website and getting links from different subject websites.
I want to give more idea about it.
I love cooking and write articles on recipes... My article will live on following website with my signature and signature will contain links to my website.
So, will it help to my website or not?
Today, I was searching for product page SEO on Google for better optimization of product pages and category level pages.
I want to introduce about my website structure.
Root category: http://www.vistastores.com/outdoor
Sub category: http://www.vistastores.com/outdoor-umbrellas
End level category: http://www.vistastores.com/patio-umbrellas
Product page: http://www.vistastores.com/patio-umbrellas-california-umbrella-slpt758-f13-red.html
I'm doing link building for sub category & end level category page. But, I'm not able to do inbound marketing for product level URLs due to resource problem.
But, I have checked that... There are many competitors who are rank well with long trail keyword... I'm selling same product but not ranking well...
What is reason behind it? I don't know...
Just look at Olefin Red Patio Umbrella search result. I want to rank in top 3 with this kind of long trail keywords...
I have made study of following video and article.
http://www.seomoz.org/blog/ecommerce-seo-making-product-pages-into-great-content-whiteboard-friday
http://www.distilled.net/blog/seo/in-search-of-the-perfect-seo-product-page/
I have done all things which were described by them... But, I'm still waiting for good ranking...
Good to know! But, I have concern about effectiveness and get maximum benefits.
Web directories can take time for approval that's why I don't want to jump in to.
I have good experience with social directories but, keyword is high competitive on which I'm working. That's why I want to drill down more before jump on this section.
Local directories can help me to generate traffic from Geo-location. But, I have concern to earn back links from that channel.
I have completed my task with top article directories. You can look at one of my article author profile.
Now, what is rest of thing for me? What is next for me in link building?
I am working on patio umbrellas keyword to achieve top 3 ranking in Google. I have achieved top 30 ranking with help of on page optimization and want to achieve top 3 ranking with help of link building.
Today, I was checking SEO web directories on SEOmoz. Now, I can't make any changes on live website exclude content. So, I have only one option to deal with link building.
There are 3 sections over there including Web Directories, Social Directories & Local Directories. So, which is best one to improve my ranking on Google? If anyone have additional inputs for link building so eager to know that.
I want to achieve top 3 ranking with my keyword by next 2 months.
EGOL,
Good to know, That's interesting to know about filtering of weaker domains. I have very big question in my mind. I have given too much efforts to create these contents for distribution in external websites. Now, I have internal platform to share my content or knowledge associated to products for my buyers.
Because, this will give me good benefits rather than external websites. I am not focusing about external links. I am selling patio umbrellas and have 20+ How to, DIY or related content which may helpful to my buyers.
So, I have big question about my organic performance which is associated to products level. Google will find out duplication due to my blog section. That's for sure. But, will it create negative impact to my organic ranking which is associated to product level pages or categories?
I want to add already distributed content to my internal blog. I have very useful articles on different topics which I have submitted to different article directories.
Yesterday, I have started my internal blog and want to add all content which I have submitted to different external websites.
So, Can I do it or not? I have confusion about duplication between my site and external websites.
Good to know that, Visits may be short term. I have set Canonical for all dynamic pages. I have done big R & D before make it happen. That study includes big eCommerce websites. But, I am surviving with my visits since January 8, 2012.
Today, I was searching for article which may help me in issues regarding canonicalization and found very interesting article on SEOmoz.
I am facing issues regarding de-indexing of pages and down of organic search engine visits.
I have done proper R & D and apply it very carefully. But, still my indexed pages and visits are going down.
I have applied canonical tag to following pages.
Narrow by search:
http://www.vistastores.com/outdoor-umbrellas?manufacturer=California+Umbrella
Sorting:
http://www.vistastores.com/outdoor-umbrellas?dir=desc&order=position
Pagination:
http://www.vistastores.com/outdoor-umbrellas?p=2
How can I improve my performance?
Good to know! I don't want to raise one more question with it. But, want to know that, Can I do it with my eCommerce website.
I want to know that, why SEOmoz have defined DoFollow & NoFollow attributes on same internal text links? Please, find out attachment to know more.
Left bar have On-Page / Site Optimization link with dofollow attribute but, right section have nofollow.
So, why should they have apply on DoFollow or NoFollow attribute on same text links?
Are you talking about internal link structure or external links? I have done lot of work to define proper categorization and internal link structure.
I am going to follow similar steps for my website. Duplicate content is one issue for my website and will resolve very soon. Can you evaluate any additional reason behind drop of ranking?
Honestly, I did not get accurate one by your reply. But, I can understand that grammar mistake is one factor. But, can you give me any alternative suggestion which may help me to sustain or recover my organic traffic.
I am going to remove all auto generated content from website.
I am working on eCommerce website Vista Stores. My website's traffic is going down due to certain reason. I have done R & D and have assumption with auto generated content which I have added on few product pages.
You can find out attachment to know more about current situation of traffic.
I want to fix duplicate content issues over my eCommerce website.
I have read very valuable blog post on SEOmoz regarding duplicate content in post panda world and applied all strategy to my website.
I want to give one example to know more about it.
http://www.vistastores.com/outdoor-umbrellas
Non WWW version:
http://vistastores.com/outdoor-umbrellas redirect to home page.
For HTTPS pages:
https://www.vistastores.com/outdoor-umbrellas
I have created Robots.txt file for all HTTPS pages as follow.
https://www.vistastores.com/robots.txt
And, set Rel=canonical to HTTP page as follow.
http://www.vistastores.com/outdoor-umbrellas
Narrow by search:
My website have narrow by search and contain pages with same Meta info as follow.
http://www.vistastores.com/outdoor-umbrellas?cat=7
http://www.vistastores.com/outdoor-umbrellas?manufacturer=Bond+MFG
http://www.vistastores.com/outdoor-umbrellas?finish_search=Aluminum
I have restricted all dynamic pages by Robots.txt which are generated by narrow by search.
http://www.vistastores.com/robots.txt
And, I have set Rel=Canonical to base URL on each dynamic pages.
Order by pages:
http://www.vistastores.com/outdoor-umbrellas?dir=asc&order=name
I have restrict all pages with robots.txt and set Rel=Canonical to base URL.
For pagination pages:
http://www.vistastores.com/outdoor-umbrellas?dir=asc&order=name&p=2
I have restrict all pages with robots.txt and set Rel=Next & Rel=Prev to all paginated pages.
I have also set Rel=Canonical to base URL.
I have done & apply all SEO suggestions to my website but, Google is crawling and indexing 21K+ pages. My website have only 9K product pages.
Google search result:
Since last 7 days, my website have affected with 75% down of impression & CTR.
I want to recover it and perform better as previous one.
I have explained my question in long manner because, want to recover my traffic as soon as possible.
I want to set default landing page over my Facebook fan page. I have checked Manage Permissions segment on my Facebook fan page settings. But, I am not able to find out facility over there. Please, find out attachment to know more.
I have checked Facebook help with same question. But, I am not able to find out my answer over there.
Can you give me any reference article which may help me to understand more about it.
Yeah, I know that: 301 redirect is best solution for me. But, client does not want to remove old website. They want to make it live as current one. Now, we are focusing more on our main domain & want to rank with new one.
So, It will not work for me. I want to rank for new one. I have done lot of link building on old one for good ranking.
Now, client does not want to promote old one & want to rank with new one. That's why I was thinking for cross domain canonical.
Thanks Alan,
So, What about ranking of Vista Patio Umbrellas domain. Will Google disappear that result from search result?
I am not sure but, have idea that, Google may replace Vista Patio Umbrellas result with Vista Stores...
Is it right?
I want to fix issue regarding duplicate categories & product pages on my multiple eCommerce websites.
http://www.vistastores.com/patio-umbrellas-fiberbuilt-umbrellas-llc-7gcrw-teal.html - Want to rank with this...
http://www.vistapatioumbrellas.com/patio-umbrellas-fiberbuilt-umbrellas-llc-7gcrw-teal.html - Duplicate one!
http://www.vistastores.com/patio-umbrellas - Want to rank with this...
http://www.vistapatioumbrellas.com/patio-umbrellas - Duplicate one!
I am working on link building campaign and trying to gather inbound links from various subject external websites. I have big confusion with this effort. I am working on eCommerce website and getting inbound links from technology related website. So, Does it really matter for better performance?
I want to give one example to get more idea. I am selling table lamps on my website and trying to get inbound links from that kind of websites which are highly dominating to table lamps or lighting industry.
But, This is not only one case. Sometime, I have opportunities to create inbound links from different subject website. Simply, If I will compile one content for UGC section on SEOmoz and links to my website with table lamps so, Will it help me to rank for table lamps keyword?
Exact match hyperlinks on external website always matter::: That I aware about it. But, what about subject orientation. I am Table Lamps monster & you are SEO monster. So, Will Google give benefit to that kind of links which are dominating different subject?
I have solved some issues about quality of website after installing SEOmoz toolbar in my browser. Because, I or We are visiting multiple websites during daily stuff and may find out opportunities to drop our website link over there. But, I have fear to drop my website link in any website. Does it really matter quality or website & How can I judge it better rather than SEOmoz toolbar?
I have added such a big question with proper declaration but, I want to jump in to link building campaign and want to earn good value after my long term effort.
I have implemented Rel=Prev & Rel=Next tag on my website. I would like to give example URL to know more about it.
http://www.vistapatioumbrellas.com/market-umbrellas?limit=40&p=3
http://www.vistapatioumbrellas.com/market-umbrellas?limit=40&p=4
http://www.vistapatioumbrellas.com/market-umbrellas?limit=40&p=5
Right now, I have blocked paginated pages by Robots.txt by following query.
Disallow: /*?p=
I have removed disallow syntax from Robots.txt for paginated pages. But, I have confusion with duplicate page title. If you will check all 3 pages so you will find out duplicate page title across all pages.
I know that, duplicate page title is harmful for SEO.
Will Google crawl + index all paginated pages?
If yes so which page will get maximum benefits in organic ranking?
Is there any specific way which may help me to solve this issue?
Got it. Dr.Pete have done excellent work on similar blog post. Right?
I am not getting clear idea by this answer. I am searching solution which may help me to solve same question.
I would like to share my URL.
http://www.vistapatioumbrellas.com/umbrella-stands
This page have rel=canonical tag for same page as follow.
<link rel="canonical" href="[http://www.vistapatioumbrellas.com/umbrella-stands](view-source:http://www.vistapatioumbrellas.com/umbrella-stands)" />
Website does not contain any duplicate page which is associated to this page. So, Does it really matter to add rel=canonical tag in each pages? Can I remove from web page?
I am also searching for same solution! I am submitting my one article in 390+ article directories list. Sometimes, it works but sometimes it does not work! I am searching for such powerful method or process which give me best result after content distribution.
I am agree with Lavellester and Robert. But, Guest blogging is quite hard for product selling website. If we are talking about SEO or any associated subject so, we have too many platform to get it done. But, for product related or online retailers ... mesh up mind with this stuff. What you think about it?
