Much like the 302 redirect, 307 is another temporary redirect.

Whilst there have been studies which showed long term temporary redirects being the same as a 301 permanent redirect, best practice is to use a 301 redirect.

I believe there are a handful of Wordpress plugins which allow you to simply place in a direct URL path so in your instance http://www.site.com/gallery/image/picture.png could be redirected to http://www.site.com.

The main thing to keep in mind is you use a 301 redirect for this process to ensure all link equity is maintained during the process.

A good plugin for doing 301 redirects on wordpress is - https://en-gb.wordpress.org/plugins/redirection/

I know this may sound super basic, but have you checked to make sure the site is not NOINDEX or disallowed in the robots to stop the crawl bot checking the data on the page?

Google can take a while to update their results sometimes, I would just hold tight perhaps for a few more days.

The general rule of thumb for URLs is that if the structure and layout makes sense from a user perspective then I wouldn't worry about losing any sleep over this.

My personal recommendation here, if possible, would be to compile all of the tools into one easy to use page. So all of the file converting permutations would be under one page and all of the 'replace' tools will be under another page.

Not only would this be better user experience but also you wouldn't clog up your site with thin pages from the multiple permutations of the pages.

You could of course argue that each tool deserves its own page because technically they each do different things.

What would make any one of these pages into a gateway page is if you bulked them out with a large amount of content that was specifically designed for search engines.

I have been in same boat myself with a brand new website that wasn't actually ranking for its own brand name.

This is just usually something which fixes itself over time, it can be frustrating but as long as you are following guidelines and publishing fresh and unique content then you will get there in now time.

Does http://www.yahoo.com still retain all link equity from the original referring domain, and is there a limit to the redirect chain before Google starts to not pass through link equity?

Subdomains are known to be a separate entity and as such will not inherit the authority of your main domain.

With regards to your second question I'm a little confused, if you are debating whether or not to have multiple subdomains for multiple languages I would recommend just putting the different languages in subfolders as you've done before.

If you start using multiple subdomains for a product to denote a different language then you will need to generate authority to each of those subdomains as authority doesn't pass on.
