The client was never given access to the ad account that is being used to runs the ads for them even thought it is billing their cc. The agency claims that industry standard is to not provide access. I spoke to facebook and they said they cant help. I was wondering if this is a common issue?

RE: What are your link-building strategies?
1.-Creating Great content and then doing outreach , guest posting and social promotion on it
2.- Use digtial pr - Give out samples, high res images, provide expert advice , create relationships , Find interesting angles to pitch blogs and sites
3- Create deals and promotions and then promote it
4- Create link bait: create Crazy products like unicorn meat, Be controversial , create amazing tool
- To sum up provide value to the web in return for exposure and eyballs - value comes in many forms
You asked for an example so here is one we did - when we saw 3d printing was all everyone talked about - we took our sample ring sizer and made a 3d printable ring sizer

RE: Which SEO Metric is the most Important?
I agree with logan- just to add one thought.
Seo Metrics like Domain Authority , link amount , link quality are no longer accurate since people send disavow files to google telling google to ignore certain links and the tools don't have the info. In short seo is an art and you need to pull all info available to paint your picture and different people will interpret the data differently.

RE: How do you find domains with good PA/DA?
Your best bet is installing the moz tool bar and searching around the web for sites within your niche that show up for keywords and terms you would like to show up for .
-
RE: Should we change branded keywords based on audience knowledge?
Keep in mind google does recognize synonyms of words. If your real issue is a pure synonym it may not matter which you choose as google cares more about topic then keywords these days. learn more about it here https://moz.com/blog/can-seos-stop-worrying-keywords-focus-topics-whiteboard-friday

Try semrush that will give you an idea of how much paid vs organic traffic they have
-
RE: PPC sessions being counted as organic in GA
If its not alot of traffic your best to just ignore it
-
RE: PPC sessions being counted as organic in GA
Are you looking at over all keywords or just organic?
-
RE: PPC sessions being counted as organic in GA
Is your adwords account linked? Are you tagging bing ppc urls?

RE: Should I buy a keyword rich domain to prevent competitors from buying it
If the product you are launching will be searched for in Google - I would buy it to protect your new product and redirect it to your new product page. Its worth the cost of registration of 1 year to see if the product will take off or you may want to use the domain in the the future.

RE: What is the Average Pogo Rate?
i would love to see an analysis of the relationship between bounce rate and this new pogo rate:)
-
RE: What is the Average Pogo Rate?
I have some high some low i think the key is to view it how we view bounce rates as a benchmark to improve - but the math is a bit wrong since you are making an assumption people are going to another search result so it isnt a true pogo but i guess its better then no metric.

RE: AdWords quality score of landing pages and subdomains popularity
Thats hard to answer - i personally dont believe the landing page authority etc plays any roll in bid price. I think campaign performance is all that matters not the domain its on but jasmin may be able to answer better.
-
RE: AdWords quality score of landing pages and subdomains popularity
You can run multiple subdomains from one account using different campaigns
- should not affect you to much just go with http://cheese.domain.com

RE: PPC strategies in a competitive ecommerce market
1- check what words competitors use with sites like semrush , keyword spy
2- run words that show intent to buy or buy in larger amounts- buy, wholesale, item sku, item full name, bulk, etc
3- be competitive on price and have a nice selection
4- google shopping tends to give you better cpa
5- weed out negatives and structure tight campaigns based on user intent with exact keywords if possible
6- track calls, sales, micro conv etc
7- pray

RE: Help! Tracking Conversion Source of Specific Users: Possible? How?
Im sorry guys it seems i answered to quick - if you want to track a person back to a channel you would need the form to be programmed to pass that info into the lead.
-
RE: Help! Tracking Conversion Source of Specific Users: Possible? How?
For adwords channel conv tracking will give you the keyword used to enter site etc. For non adwords channel you need to set up a goal in analytics to see the channel
-
RE: Help! Tracking Conversion Source of Specific Users: Possible? How?
Yes you can you can do this by setting up conv tracking in adwords and putting the code on the thank you page that appears after the lead form is submitted. read more here https://support.google.com/adwords/answer/1722054?hl=en
For phone calls you can setup 3rd party call tracking that can do this look at services like callrail.com or https://www.mongoosemetrics.com/

RE: Links from highly relevant but low Domain Authority sites: Yes or No?
If you have the opportunity to get those type of links without paying for them and you feel it would get your site on the radar of the audience they have then go for it. If your asking should you spend money to get those links from sites with low da that dont have an engaged following i would say no.
hope that helps

RE: Does Having A High PPC Bounce Rate Affect Organic SERPs?
No his ppc setup is made to funnel his users to fill out the lead form which causes a high bounce rate while increasing his ppc ads effectiveness.
-
RE: Does Having A High PPC Bounce Rate Affect Organic SERPs?
His bounce rate is high because he is running a Ppc lead gen and it is designed to have a high bounce rate to get more leads. You have nothing to worry about from a SEO perspective this is the way its done.
-
RE: Adwords linking to analytics
The correct way is to add your email you used for AdWords as an admin on analytics
-
RE: Does Having A High PPC Bounce Rate Affect Organic SERPs?
In my opinion this should not hurt you at all because google doesn't use analytics data for their algorithm. All the talk you hear about bounce rates etc effecting seo in my opinion tends to be from google searches that pogo stick back to the search results after an unsatisfied search.
Unless you think that google is using analytics data in their ranking factors and there are those that do and dont use analtics or chrome and wear tin foil hats to make sure they are safe.
Best of luck

RE: Which Search Engine Do Women Primarily Prefer?
Google has a majority of all search traffic and i dont believe yahoo is mostly women today- I just did a quick search in GA new gender section for a client and see the same distribution between male and female for yahoo and google ,if anything yahoo was a drop more male then female then google search for this client.
If you are targeting women the only network with a search function that i am aware of that is heavy to one gender is pinterest.

RE: Want Your Opinions on Search Marketing Conferences in US
I would recommend mozcon and distilled events - They are great for networking
-
RE: What is the best app for running a photo contest?

-
RE: Does Lack of CTR Reduce Organic Impressions
They compare your stats with other sites and if your site is getting less ctr i can see that hurting you
-
RE: Does Lack of CTR Reduce Organic Impressions
It is believed that bounce rate and ctr do play as ranking factors - how much is yet to be determined
-
RE: What's on your ultimate online marketing wish list?
adwords- I would love a compare date range view in adwords like they have in analytics
-
RE: Adwords coupons
We find that ppc is a great service to offer but it does have a high churn rate the secret is to only take clients you think you can perform for.
-
Adwords coupons
I have a bunch of $300 free adwords spend coupons (must spend $100 & only new accounts) . If any body wants to become more of a t-marketer and play with ppc , Just comment in the post.
I would also love to hear how people are using t-marketing to enhance seo.

RE: Is guest posting good for main link-building tactic for eCommerce site
Anytime google goes after a tactic they need to avoid collateral damage as real sites do use guest posting as well. Google would most likely only penalize profiles with heavy unbalanced use of the tactic and then discount the links from sites they felt where spammy in nature if you had a balanced quality backlink profile.
Read here for more thoughts on it - http://searchengineland.com/googles-matt-cutts-guest-blogging-best-done-in-moderation-174367
-
RE: Is guest posting good for main link-building tactic for eCommerce site
I would worry about using this as the main tactic.
-
RE: Adwords Support...
Before doing that i would analyze where the drop in sales came from is it across the adwords account or just specific campaigns , keywords, etc this will help you find outside problems that may need fixing. Often it can be the loss of organic traffic that is being felt in a drop in brand terms etc.
-
RE: CPC or CPM for Google Display Network?
For re-targeting i always do cpc because after people see an ad a couple of times the predicted click rate drops, So it ends up being cheaper then cpm.
-
RE: Google Manual Penalties:Different Types of Unnatural Link Penalties?
In my opinion if you get a warning about action to specific links and you have Basically a clean backlink profile and your rankings are not hurt you dont need to do anything. You should focus your energy instead on creating great links with natural anchor texts and providing a great web experience to your users.
-
RE: Google Analytics and Adwords Linkup
That seems to be the issue - You can make separate accounts for each instead of profiles
-
RE: Will PPC affect Organic?
1- We have run ppc accounts with 30k monthly spend that have no organic traffic.
2- The backlash that google would get if this where true is too high from a risk/ reward assisment for me to believe it.
3- I do believe ppc helps SEO in some cases but from a content amplification point of view
