RE: Most effective Title Tag Structure
Definitely agree with Adam, the 2nd title structure is much more professional and will facilitate a better customer response.
Personally I use piped separation for my title tags but that's just personal preference.

RE: Image file name, is it important
The ROI for this is a lot lower than general Search traffic (I've had 3 conversions from this), however, I would say that for the little work it took to do, 1 conversion would have made it worthwhile.

RE: Image file name, is it important
My example was:
Filename: fireworks-display.jpg
Alt Text: Fireworks Display Night Extravaganza
Also, the page content was heavily weighted towards "fireworks + display". Over the New Year period, when traffic on this site averages approx 20k, I had 200k impressions of this image via Google Image, it was short lived as once New Year passed, so did the search volume but it certainly opened my eyes to the possibilities.

RE: How do you visualize website structure
Pidoco is a smart collaborative wireframe / GUI design tool. Could be worth a look. Alternatively if you're looking for free, Gliffy is good.

RE: Image file name, is it important
As Steve says it won't affect you for Dup Content. One thing to bear in mind when naming images is that optimising the filename along with the alt text etc.. can yield some surprising results via Google Image Search, I had an image ranking for the term "fireworks" delivering a substantial amount of traffic

RE: Are HTML sitemaps still in use today?
I still use "static" sitemaps with my clients. These can be especially welcomed by users if you have a large site with many categories/sub-categories. Of course from a usability standpoint, your site navigation should pose no problem to your customers finding what they are looking for

RE: How to get a news article / post to show up in a google trend for your keyword?
The domain authority of all these featured sites is very high, I would think that may have something to do with it as it can't be down to content feature as the guardian post reads more like a tweet. Anyone else have any luck gaining this kind of exposure?

RE: Researching Backlinks from Distinct C-Classes
You could try a reverse DNS lookup on each unique domain

RE: What is domain linking and linking root domains?
You may have 1000's of links pointing to your root domain, however, if you are trying to rank a sub-page for a specific term, you may want to find unique domains that can provide direct links to the target page (anchor and generic), thereby increasing your overall linking domain count for both your domain and sub-page

RE: What is your traffic mix?
I have a client site in the Travel sector.
Primary means of promotion is SEO with a mix of Social for Brand Awareness. Most work has been on-page optimisation with a small link building campaign.
Results have been a 30% YOY increase in traffic with a split of
- Direct 10%
- Referring 5%
- Search 85%
Most search traffic started as variable keyword input, however due to the work carried out in the Social sphere, most Search traffic is now Brand-related. Focus now is on diversifying referral-based traffic through associated micro-sites and blogs

RE: Facebook page vs Facebook place
I'd definitely recommend a Facebook Business Page, not only can it provide a Social Buzz platform but if done correctly, can provide traffic that converts (either via direct traffic or Facebook Storefront)

RE: Best Practice for Deleting Pages
Why don't you 301 to either the main bio entry page or create a page for deleted empoyees (kinda like a custom 404) and update your sitemap. That way no benefit is lost and anyone landing on the page from say an external link, will not get frustrated.

RE: Domain MozRank / MozTrust too LOW
You may want to look at increasing the amount of unique domains linking in, at present you only have 4
Try finding some authorative resources, invest in building links from these and analyse the results.
It will take time.

RE: Best Practice for Deleting Pages
I agree that it would serve little or no positive gain in terms of SEO, however, for usability and customer friendliness it should be a win-win.
