@jennyyy hi Jenny, thanks for your reply. I appreciate that PA and DA are different things. They both factor in links though don't they? In the example I gave in previous reply, how could a website have such a high PA but such a low DA?

RE: PA and DA for Homepage
Hi @chicuae - many thanks for your reply, it's much appreciated.
Just to give an example, this image shows the top 10 SERPs for the keyword "care home furniture" in the UK: https://i.ibb.co/23pr418/care-home-furniture.png
The website ranked #4 on that screenshot has a Page Authority of 36 and a Domain Authority of 5. How can the Page Authority be so much higher than the Domain Authority? Surely any backlinks pointing to that specific page (the homepage) would also be factored into the Domain Authority?
Compare that to another website that has the homepage in the SERPs i.e. https://www.carechair.co.uk/ in position 6, their PA and DA and much closer to each other.
You mentioned that DA takes into account backlinks "as well as other factors". What are those other factors?
For PA, you mentioned that includes backlinks pointing to a particular page, as well as the content relevance and internal linking structure. What specifically about the internal linking structure could cause such a big difference between the PA and DA of the homepage?
Many thanks in advance.

PA and DA for Homepage
I've been looking at the PA and DA scores for the homepage of websites we have built and have been comparing this to competitors. What I'm finding is that the PA score is always higher than the DA, however on competitors sites the PA is much higher in relation to the DA. What could be the reason for this?
For example, some of our website homepages may have PA / DA scores such as the following:
Website #1: PA37 DA25 (PA:DA = 1.48)
Website #2: PA31 DA21 (PA:DA = 1.47)However competitors often have figures like this:
Website #3: PA40 DA21 (PA:DA 1.9)
Website #4: PA 25 DA 11 (PA:DA 2.27)I even saw one website with the following scores:
Website #5: PA36 DA5 (PA:DA 7.2)
How do you explain such a high Page Authority in relation to the domain authority for that site?
When I look at the scores for our websites I often feel that the DA is at a good level, but the PA for the homepage doesn't seem as high as it could be compared to competitors. My initial thought was that maybe we had a lot of backlinks to other pages on the website (not the homepage) but this is not the case at all - pretty much all our backlinks are to the homepage. Could it be to do with internal linking structure? Any other ideas?
Many thanks in advance for any help with this.

RE: Footer backlink for/to Web Design Agency
We also add Web Design in Hull in the footer of all our websites and I'm convinced it helps more than it hurts. I've read in a lot of places that Google advise against it, but I really don't think we'd be ranking as high as we are for local searches if we didn't do this.
