RE: Why doesn't the Better Business Bureau show up in my link analysis
BBB makes me think 'old' , not 'trusted' but that is coming from a 2.0 designer.
In the plumbing world, the BBB probably makes a lot of sense.

RE: Help with local SEO strategy for service industries
I heard you get a better effect by not stating a radius.
*edit: 2 downvotes, so I'll add: http://www.seroundtable.com/archives/018216.html says no less then 20 miles. I still don't think you should specify a radius, let Google decide.

RE: Best way to Handle Pagination?
I was wondering the same thing and tried it in multiple ways. I got similar results SEO wise, I don't think it ultimately matters. What matters is how it looks to your users and a proper sitemap.

-
RE: Outsourcing link building
How much are you looking to spend? High Quality = High Costs.
-
RE: Help on article submission
I agree, talk with bloggers in your niche, post your article to them in email if you can trust them enough. Public facing submission sites are too spammy.
-
RE: Can your site be penalised by backlinks?
although backlinks can, its more onpage stuff that Google hates. Otherwise everyone would be attacking their competitors
-
RE: Meaning Behind Google Local Search Results Icons?
I'm not seeing those either, some kinda firefox plugin? or are you logged in your account? do you own those domains?
-
RE: Is a 302 redirect the correct redirect from a root URL to a detail page?
I don't see anything wrong with just a 301..?
-
RE: How to get more page impressions?
You shouldn't base anything off of impressions... What do you really want your customers doing?
-
RE: How important are meta keywords?
I don't use meta keywords at all, everything seems fine. I don't want my competitors to see them too.
-
RE: Linkbuilding in unrelated blogs
I don't think you'll get any penalty, but keep it below 10% of the overall picture.

RE: Content issue
Will the reviews be coming from multiple sites? If so, I'd think a mix of the content from various sites will be fine. Google loves testimonials.
If not, I'm not qualified enough to respond with an answer for you

RE: Impact of 401s on Site Rankings
First here is an error list: http://www.google.com/support/webmasters/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=40132
Response code 403 is for requests, where authentication makes no difference, disabled directory browsing.
401 Unauthorized would be the response to send.I'd suggest using robot.txt to stop going to these pages? Or even better, if you can allow Google's spiders access (I'm not 100% sure how this is done)

RE: BoostCTR
No worries asking mike, advertising and conversion rates ARE categories!!

RE: Some sites like bbc.co.uk place the most important category links at the bottom of the page while other sites will place the whole site map there. What are the benefits (or not) of both approaches?
I think examples like the BBC are bad to look at their layout strategy. They are too credible for Google to punish for placement. You and me on the other hand, aren't credible enough to play those games.

My friend from the UK thinks it did indeed get rolled out, I personally can't say to if it really did, they could be testing the waters.... how fast it'll get to other countries? I don't think anyone knows. It would make sense tho if they are experimenting

RE: New Content
I'm assuming your saying another website is taking your article content? Are they giving you credit? Timestamps are your friend, I'm going to assume Google will know you are the originator. Create some backlinks pointed to your content.
tip for future content: include things they can't include, like your name, your customers, etc etc
