I have just began to jump in to the world of SEO and I have done a lot of ready and trying to understand everything. What in your mind as an expert is the most important factors? 1. Link Building 2. Optimizing to Keywords 3. Correcting on page Errors Are these the top 3 factors? Is there something that I am missing? Is there an order to the priority - or does it take an attack on all fronts? Any advice on a newbie - to start seeing results? The site I am working on is http://whitetail-mafia.com Here are some of my stats which seem to be comparable to some of my bigger competitors: Page Authority: 43 Page MozRank: 4.25 Page MozTrust: 5.27 Internal Followed Links: 2,024 External Followed Links: 235 Total Internal Links: 2,025 Total External Links: 237 Total Links: 2,262 Followed Linking Root Domains: 37 Total Linking Root Domains: 38 Linking C Blocks: 19 I honestly just don't know enough yet to see these values as good, bad, or ugly. I have noticed that when I run the open explorer on my website that I get a different list of linking domains depending on if the back link used www or not. I always ask and specify to use the non-www but many people do not pay a lot of attention to that? I have set up 301 from www to the non-www as the non-www is my primary URL. How do i get credits for the 50+ that are pointing to the www?

I have seen a lot of Press Releases used to generate links. Is this a tactic that is worth it? If so what are the best sites to use for the PR? Any suggestions or examples? I am more than willing to do PRs; i just want to be able to focus my effort on things that will have a return. Thanks!!

Is there any method or way of improving these numbers? I have found a description of them but do not fully understand them either. My site currently has: MozRank: 4.7 MozTrust: 5.59 I am unclear if these are good numbers, average numbers, or what I can do to increase these vlaues. Is it simply a matter of time?

What is the best way to obtain External Links for a website? I have seen using the Open Site Explorer that my url is ahead of most of the competitors in all areas except this one. What is the best method of generating these links, outside of emailing 20K people and asking for a back link? Any suggstions?

what is the best place to go to create a xml sitemap? I have used xml-sitemap.com but it only does 500 pages. Any suggestions? Does a sitemap have value on the SEO front?

Ok. My site has been running as whitetail-mafia.com for about 3 years now. I recently switched to a new host (had to say good bye to godaddy). In the change I switched the site to whitetail-mafia.net I have whitetail-mafia.com, whitetailmafia.com, and whitetailmafia.net set for a 301 redirect to whitetail-mafia.net. I have recently transferred all of these to the same host now. However, during my first run at OpenExplorer I found that the old site whitetail-mafia.com was carrying some good weight. Did I shoot myself in the foot? Should I transfer everything back to .com and redirect to it since it has some history? Will my rankings for .com transfer over to the .net with the 301 redirect? looking for the best advice here before I spend too much time having to rebuild...
