SEO Quake says that 75 characters are optimal for the URL and Moz says it is too long.
Also Moz says that 92 meta description is too long buy SEO Quake says 92 characters — average. Most optimal 10 - 70 characters.
What is the truth?

This site http://herwigphoto.com/bs/ and other like it have thousands of similar links containing the word adidas  We are not in the sports shoes business, therefore the links are irrelevant and many and can hurt our rankings, correct?

Below are some links to our geographics.com website that have URLs that are not ours. They will redirect to our homepage. How do we remove these links and how do we deal with the websites that send such links to us? There are thousands of inbound links to our website with anchor text containing irrelevant keywords such as these: yeezy-750-boost-light-grey-cheap or adidas-yeezy-boost-750-light-grey-sale; pirate black sale, etc

I submitted the .xml sitemap in Google Webmaster Tools and only 200 out of 2100 pages were indexed.
Why is that and what can I do ?

Which type of sitemap is better for search engines the .XML or the HTML?

Google webmaster tools tells me that I have duplicate title tags for two items. They have the same product ID. When there is a change in SEO URL, the system does an automatic 301 redirect of  the first item towards the second item, like in the example below:
22"x28" White Foam Board School Project Kit|Geographics.com
/p48998/foam-board-school-project-kit-22-x-28/product_info.html /p48998/white-foam-board-school-project-kit/product_info.html

What are we doing wrong that Google asks for different meta data for a 301 redirect?

We have received messages in Google webmaster tools that there is an increase in soft 404 errors.

When we check the URLs they send to the 404 not found page:
For example, http://www.geographics.com/images/01904_S.jpg
redirects to http://www.geographics.com/404.shtml.
When we used fetch as Google, here is what we got: .
#1 Server Response: http://www.geographics.com/404.shtml
HTTP/1.1 200 OK Date: Thu, 26 Sep 2013 14:26:59 GMT
What is wrong and what shall we do?

The soft 404 errors are mainly for images that no longer exist in the server.

Why does Google webmaster tools shows  5 URLs that have been 301 redirected as having duplicate meta descriptions?

I have been writing SEO content for blogs for the past year or so, but I am fairly new to article directories.

With SEO in mind, what makes a particular article directory valuable?  Currently I'm using EzineArticles and Squidoo; I liked Ezine in particular because of their thorough review process.  I saw that recently Squidoo also amped up their  checks for original content as a result of Google's stricter policies.

I was interested in using HubPages also since they are good about reviewing content.  I'm just curious how much factors like this reflect on an article directory SEO-wise.  Are there any additional factors that set a a good article directory apart?

how can we avoid this since i cannot make a different meta content for the second page of the category page:

We do not know how to do this in httaccess. Can you please advise?
