Hey,

The pages on one of our sites has a lot of links on it, which I have read a couple of times can be bad for SEO, although many say don't worry too much about it. However, I was thinking to reduce links and also reduce code size combining adjacent image and text links.

For example they current look like this:
"
Products page"

I am thinking maybe I should change to the following:
"Products page"

However, is this bad code and therefore could be bad for SEO? I have tried Googling this but couldn't seem to find anything on it.

When you say internal links are you talking about on the Page Optimization tool and the flagging item about too many links on a page?

I had a look at your screenshot but was unsure on what this related to as its cut out the page.

I would check out Yoast's article on keyword density its a good article: https://yoast.com/keyword-density-in-yoast-seo/

Yoast mention "we encourage you to aim for a keyword density range of 0.5% to 2.5%, depending on a number of factors." which I would say is a good keyword density to aim for as well.

I am not really sure what you mean though in regards to hiding with Javascript? What are you talking about hiding? Could you please explain?

Does hiding elements of the page have a negative effect on SEO?

The reason I ask is I am using a Wordpress theme however in options if I disable a certain element of the theme that is printed on the page it simply hides it from the user using CSS but it still exists in the code.

Could the search engine see this as bad? E.g. like you are trying to keyword stuff by hiding keywords in the page?
