I have tried numerous tools, my team of freelancers, (fiver I admit) and a couple people from Upwork and still not getting a GOOD response to - How much search volume is there for "home builders" JUST in WIchita, KS (for example) I get local results like that are challenging because a lot of them show no search volume.

Am I missing something? Can  recommend a resource? I would be really grateful!

I am trying to figure out a nice long (ideally) list of keywords for 'plumbers, wichita ks', 'dentist, wichita ks' - Local service businesses and everything I try shows next to nothing.

Quick Q for your (local) SEO gurus.

I have a client who has bought a number of local companies. (advertising, printing, graphic design, vehicle wraps) to compliment his screen printing, embroidery, etc business. ALL of these companies run out of the SAME address.

What makes it even harder is he wants to continue operating them as separate companies. Fortunately, he is OK with using different phone numbers for each business but on the website (we are building for him) ALL the companies are represented like it is all one big happy company.

How the H@#$ do I build citations for this business! ??? THANK YOU FOR ANY SUGGESTIONS!!

If I use the one 'parent' company building citations is a challenge bcs they do so MANY things in one location. If I try and build citations for 5 companies w the same address - that can't be a good idea either.

If the plan is to eventually fold all these companies into the one parent company *(waiting to hear back on that) I would think the BEST advice would be to use the ONE phone number and address and just shoot for a general 'marketing' category.

Overall impression is very good.

Biggest thing I see missing is an ABOUT page. This is SO important. I use crazy egg to show all my clients how important their ABOUT page is. For most of my clients its the MOST popular page on their entire website. People want to see a story and the real people behind the business who care about what they do and the people they serve.

You have courses and contact us above the fold but maybe something a little softer like you see on this site - http://www.rovepestcontrol.com/ encourage them to ask a question would likely help w bounce rate.

Need more relevant and helpful content

Videos are great. I would get those on the homepage for sure. Increases time on site and will help with bounces for sure.

I would add a REASON to join the mailing list.

No schema. Domain and page authority are very, very low. Link count is also very low. Put most important kw in h1 and h2 (not ice fishing and we will come to you) There is no blog and very little actual 'content' on your site.

This site is ranking #1 for that kw - they have 3,500 links from 25 domains and a ton of pages and loads faster than yours.

It's a good looking site. You work on the items Patrick suggested and what I threw out there and it will help for sure. Good luck!!!

I operate an Internet marketing firm in the Midwest US called Saw Web Marketing. I have contractors that work for me that handle design, writing, development, etc when my clients need it.

I love the industry but struggle (like everybody else) with all the normal things (managing time and keeping up with reporting, keeping up with the little daily fires, finding time to improve my site and blog and learn new things, networking, social media and on and on.....

I have been considering using Hubspot software to simplify some of the things I spend time on, look more polished and professional would of course be a big bonus. I don't know HOW restrictive or powerful their tools are. (I certainly am NOT leaving Moz - Nobody compares to Moz!)

ANY thoughts or opinions would be GREATLY appreciated!!!

I love Moz and the community and all the tools here. I admit I haven't rolled around in all the new things rolled out a few months ago.

I thought there were more changes on the way but I wasn't sure if those already happened and I missed them or if I need to be patient?

What do you remove? Just curious. What kind of things did you do to achieve the first page ranking in the first place? Is it possible that came back to haunt you?

Have you been hit with a penalty for bad links pointing to your site? Have you looked at the link profile for your domains using site explorer?

If you don't get a helpful response I know a place where you could find a couple thousand Internet Marketing professionals, hiring one of those would no doubt solve your problem

All I can say is good luck. I have tried all of them you mentioned plus webceo and AWR (advanced web rankings) and found all of them lacking in 2 or more major ways when it comes to an "seo tool". Some are cost, some are confusing, some are difficult even for me to understand much less a client, some look at KPI indicators that make sense only to them, many price based on # of keywords you are tracking and if you have many clients (especially ones focused on local traffic) it can really drive your cost up, many of the 'tools' they use are essentially worthless.

Hands down, by leaps and bounds, NONE of them compare to Moz in any way in my opinion.

My only desire in exploring other options is, maybe like you, I wish Moz allowed either A) the ability for clients to log in and see their information (and only their stats) or the ability to download a cohesive monthly report without having to cut and paste and cobble one together.

Just my two cents....

(If you haven't tried webceo it is my favorite simply as a reporting tool. You can schedule reports to clients once a month and give them the ability to log in and see their stats).

good question. I had the same thing happen w one of my clients. it was a 250% increase but only for two days. hopefully somebody jumps in w a possible answer.

I'm sorry, I'm not clear what your question is.... I would imagine everybody's % of organic traffic varies depending on how they promote their business. Myself it is about 40% organic, 20% direct, 30% referral and 10% campaign. I would REALLY like to increase my campaign (email marketing) so I am less dependent on Google.

You should be teaching a CLASS on building a following on Social Media - holy cow! Those are some fantastic numbers! Mind sharing a couple tips on how you built that kind of following!? How long did that take you if you don't mind me asking?

I used to think Moz was rich and full but man, there is so Much new stuff! I love it! I still need to explore everything.

I have struggled with the best way to charge my clients FOREVER it seems and I think I finally have decided on how to proceed! ANY suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

(I have read the seomoz blog posts about the subject, the Art of SEO and Search Engine Optimization Secrets book and tons of blogs, etc).

I got into this business because of what I was able to accomplish with my party rental companies website and what I had studied and read for months and months.

Without knowing any better I tried to get into SEO and online marketing and fell straight into designing websites and subcontractors and hosting and everything EXCEPT seo work! sound familiar? I CAN'T be the only one this happened to

I have regrouped and finally gotten my FIRST pure SEO client. They agreed to pay me $3,000 over 6 months for JUST recommendations with monthly reporting on traffic, # of links, etc.

My plan is to charge clients X amount of dollars broken up over 6 months - $2-5k. (that will include monthly reporting) for a list of recommendations. (on page, link opportunities, design suggestions, kw suggestions, email campaign, on and on).  NO MORE $400-500 FOR A WHOLE WEBSITE - INCLUDING CONTENT CREATION! (I was stupid enough to do this - TWICE!

I like doing it this way so I can focus on giving them maximum value right from the get go and not slowing spoon feeding my knowledge out to them or them getting burned out after 2 months and not wanting to continue because they haven't seen a miracle yet.

I will justify the clients investment by dividing that lump sum by $75 an hour (low for some of you I know) and track the time I spend researching links, their competitors, their on page, etc. and include it in my monthly report.

I plan to give my first client their report in a few weeks and it will be pretty comprehensive but not EVERY thing I can think of but enough to impress. They are welcome to pursue the links I found, make the site changes, etc themselves OR I will be happy to have ALL my recommendations implemented for them for a reasonable, fair amount. If they want me to do it I will explain my staff will be doing the work and it will be $25 +/- an hour vs. $75

That's a GREAT idea! I never thought about fixing or offering to do something small for free. I might head in that direction all together. I have spent to much time on my pretty packet to toss it now and my new bride will kill me if I don't at least try this approach but if it doesn't work like I hope I will try that one!
