Sorry about the odd issue. It is hard to say what is going on without an example of two pages we are calling duplicate content. If you could give me to URLs and I will check out this issues. Hey! You can set up a campaign under a domain like Example.com then you can also just track a subfolder on that specific domain in another campaign. Just select the "subfolder" option when you set up the campaign and you can track www.example.com/blog.

Sorry about the delay. We added a new pipeline to make reports collate faster. Unfortunately while we were adding it there was a back up. All the reports should be pushed through very soon (if not already). Thanks for your patience and time.

You can track them all in one campaign as a root domain then use the three Google extension localized to your needs. Then you could add KWs in each language with LABELS on them to sort and differentiate them. You could also set up three different campaigns under the subdomain category.

Thanks for writing in and sorry that you're getting this problem with Rank Tracker. It sounds like a cookies issue - you should definitely make sure that third-party cookies are activated in your browser (I know it seems basic, but it really does help). This is how you do this:

Firefox: http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/enabling+and+disabling+cookies

Chrome: http://www.google.com/support/chrome/bin/answer.py?answer=95647

I hope this helps! After you enable all cookies, including third-party, and save the settings, restart your browser and log back in to the SEOmoz.org site. After that, go to opensiteexplorer.org and make sure you are logged in (it indicates if you are logged in on top of the page). You should be good to go!

If you're still having problems, you may want to clear your cache and cookies as well.

Do you mind sharing the URL and kw? I would love to take a deeper look at the issue.

At the time it was indexed it may have been a nofollow link? It is hard to say since our index is so massive. If it shows up as a nofollow link in the next index you may want to reach out to them to verify though.

Sorry that Rank Tracker isn't working for you. While at times it works perfectly fine, it does have a problem retrieving rankings sometimes. Because of this, we're going to be completely deprecating Rank tracker from the site in the next few months.

Rogerbot will still follow Nofollows because it needs to get a holistic view of the site.

Here are some things you can do about duplicate pages:

Delete content that is similar on each page.

Add some new and unique content to each page that is on the report. This can be done by adding more information, ideas, product descriptions, or anything that can make it differ from other pages on the domain.

You can also add a rel=canonical to one of the duplicate pages. Here are a few ways to do this:

Add a rel="canonical" link in between the  and elements. This should be done on the version of the page you want to be ranking or that non-canonical version of the two (or multiple) pages.

To specify a canonical link to the page http://www.seomoz.org/blog.php?item=seomoz-iscool, create a  element that looks like this: <link rel="canonical"href="<a href="http://www.seomoz.com/blog.php?item=seomoz-iscool">http://www.seomoz.com/blog.php?item=seomoz-iscool"/></link rel="canonical"href="<a>

Copy this link into the  section of all non-canonical versions of the page, such as http://www.seomoz.com/blog.php?item=seomoz-iscool&sort=fun.

This should successfully eliminate the duplicate content issues.

We will pick up that On Page error if the canonical URL tag is employed on two pages at a single time on an individual URL. So if www.awesome.com/index is canonicalized because it is the same content as www.awesome.com and I also put a relcanonical on that page then this error will show up. To ensure the search engines properly parse the canonical source, employ only a single version of this tag.

That can be a little confusing! Sorry about that. We will only pull rankings for Universal results for keywords that are rankings in the main SERP. So if you type in the keyword ‘seattle pizza’ we will only pull from the few places results we see in the overall SERP. To get universal results you need to have a location in the keyword. So to see local rankings for ‘REI’ you will need to have a keyword with set up that says ‘boston REI’ to we can find it in the universal results.

Unfortunately you will need to be an admin on their GA profile. So basically you have to sign into the Google account that is an admin on the GA profile, then connect it from your campaign settings. As of now there is no way to use an Adwords MCC to connect it up.

Its not really an inconsistency from what I can see. If it is we need more info I think. URL specifics or what links you are seeing, etc.. Pertaining to your Google metrics question: Our metrics provided by Linkscape are completely different than Google's data. Especially PR (PageRank), which isn't really used too much anymore or relevant.

Another thing to keep in mind is that this is a lab's tool and isn't really going to be supported(or even used) much.

If that was how our crawler was accessing your pages before, because there aren't links for them else where, then it could be the issue. It does depend there. There are a lot of aspects to how our crawler works so it is really hard to say.

Sorry about the odd crawl activity. I pulled up your campaigns and it looks like something blocked rogerbot from crawling. This could be new redirects or changes in your robots.txt file. Hey Michael,

It looks like it is function of WordPress to put rel=canonicals on some duplicate pages. It is a good thing though So I wouldn't sweat it.  Remember that anything in the Notices section is just interesting facts we found about your site. They aren't bad things or issues.

Sorry about the confusion. You actually won't lose your historical data. That messaging it just telling that your cached graphs will be reset, so it will take us a hour or so to pull back the historical information from GA. Just go through all of the accounts you are having issues with and reset the connection. If that doesn't work, make sure you are logged in to you Google account that has the GA accounts on them and disconnect the accounts with the scary red button, then reconnect them.

Just to clarify, to see the source of those errors, you’ll need to download your Full Crawl Diagnostics CSV and open it up in something like Excel. In the first column, perform a search for the URL of the page you are looking for.  When you find the correct row, look in the last column labeled referrer. This tells you the referral URL of the page where our crawlers first found the target URL. You can then visit this URL to find the source of your errors. Sorry about the odd metrics. If the campaign is set up as a root domain, then the subdomain metrics won't be accurate, we are working on a fix for that now. If you want to see the correct metrics put your URL in OSE and check the Compare Link Metrics Tab.

Unfortunately, that Labs tool is still broken, but for a good reason! We're working on a new version that should get put up sometime soon. Unfortunately, I don't have a date for the release, but I think it'll be sometime this month. We have a known issue where Hebrew isn't parsed right by our crawler so it has caused issues in the past. The issues have been intermittent but they can affect the data you see. Sorry about that. Our engineers have been working to get a fix out there for the Hebrew character set, so stay tuned.

That could be a possibility. It is hard to say definitively given the nature of web crawlers. They just crawl links as they see them in random succession, so a lot of factors come into play.

Just so you know, here's how we compile our index:    - We grab the most recent index. - We take the top 10 billion URLs with the highest MozRank (with a fixed limit on some of the larger domains).    - We start crawling from the top down until we've crawled 59,000,000,000 pages (which is about 25% the amount in Google's index).

Therefore, if the site is not linked to by one of these seed URLs (or one of the URLs linked to by them in the next update) then it won't show up in our index. Sorry!

We update our Linkscape Index every 4 weeks. Crawling the entire Internet to look for links takes 2-3 weeks, but our crawlers are always in motion. When we need to start processing, we grab all the data they have collected and start processing which can take up to 3 weeks to determine which of those links are the most important. Linkscape focuses on a breadth-first approach. Therefore we almost always have content from the homepage of websites, externally linked-to pages, and pages higher up in a site's information hierarchy. However, deep pages that are buried beneath many layers of navigation are sometimes missed and it may be several index updates before we catch all of these.

If our crawlers or data sources are blocked from reaching those URLs, they may not be included in our index (though links that point to those pages will still be available). Finally, the URLs seen by Linkscape must be linked-to by other documents on the web or our index will not include them.

For now, the best thing you can do to help your domain become indexed is to work on link building for links from sites with high mozrank.

I'm not sure why you would be getting different results in the Web App rankings than you would be getting when you run the searches yourself; it could be a lot of things. The search engines - Google, Yahoo! & Bing - all maintain multiple indices that run across multiple datacenters. This means if you query different datacenters, you can get somewhat different ranking results. Other elements, such as personalization, geography and search history (even if you're logged out of your Google/search engine account) can also influence ranking positions. Hence, there can be a lot of variation in what different people, searching from different computers/locations might see in the rankings.

Our solution has been to run searches from a variety of IP addresses and IP blocks using non-personalized, search history/location agnostic requests. In our experience, these have provided the most accurate results, showing what the "most" users see, though we know there's still quite a bit of room for fluctuation. If you have suggestions about how we might improve the technical process of fetching rankings data to get better data, please let us know and we'll pass it on to our engineering team. We're always looking for ways to get you better data.

As of now it will most likely see it as duplicate content, because technically it still is duplicate content to a crawler bot, they won't know your intentions or target audience for each subfolder. The only way you could get around our crawler seeing it as duplicate is by blocking rogerbot with robots.txt or meta robots from that subfolder. Then there is putting up relconanoicals, which is the best way.

Hope this sheds some light on the duplicate content issues.
