Hey All, I just can't figure this out. My site has been ranking well for years, i've never done anything suspicious with it and since the penguin update, my rankings have dropped across the board but only by about 4 - 8 places each, some terms have went up from nowhere to page 8 etc. I don't think i've been hit with a penalty, so I don't know what the problem is or how to recover from it. Does anybody have any ideas on what could be wrong? Update: Perhaps some sites that were linking to mine have been hit with a penalty? Update 2: I just found myself somehow in some spammy link network for 600 sites that looked identical, I don't know how or why my website is in this! I have disavowed all of these links 5 days ago, no change to rankings. pY80Dzi

Hello Again, It's a real shame that I seem to come to this forum to only complain about your product again and again. I remember a time when I used to really respect this company, but your tool is absolutely abysmal. Anyway, my latest issue (to add to the pile) is that campaigns that have been in my account for almost 2 months STILL do have options for me to make monthly reports on. What's wrong now? Edit: I just checked the date I added these profiles, it was around the end of last month, so one and a half months ago.

Hello All, I may be missing something, but I only want to create monthly reports for my clients from this system. A week in SEO is a terrifying rollercoaster, but any I digress. Currently, i'm adding clients to the system, setting up Analytics, Twitter, Google+, keywords etc. I then go to the custom reports menu as I want to build my report now and schedule it to run at the end of the month, however, because a month has not yet passed, I can only create weekly report segments. This means that I have to add a client to your system and then come back a month later to build a report, this is silly, am I using this wrong or is this not right? I don't care if any data is available, I just want to create the report so I don't have to do it later ideally.

Hello, After spending 3 days setting up 14 clients on this system, by this, I mean I went through each client and re-made the same report 14 times as there is no alternative..I have noticed on my reports that: 'Dashboard' is set to 'Weekly' Social is set to 'Daily' Branding is set to 'Monthly' First questions, when I try to run a report, I go to Add Module and change 'Weekly' to 'Monthly', but when I press next, it changes itself back again, am I doing something wrong? UPDATE: I have found that I have go back in the reports, change the heading to 'Monthly' and then re-add this section again. How can I just run a whole report with monthly values? Surely, I do not have to re-do the entire report AGAIN, just to get a different value? I am mortified at how unfinished this product is, if this is the case.

Hello Moz Forums! I'm having problems building custom reports for my clients. So, i've managed to put together a few reports and I've set these to be scheduled for weekly automated emailing! Now, here's the problem, before sending it to my clients, I was testing this by sending it to myself. This is what I receive: http://www.freelance-seo.co.uk/images/Moz.png I don't really want my clients to see 'By Moz!' everywhere when I send this out, is there a way to change this automated mail? Or a way to just just send the PDF without a link? Alternatively, have I just failed in using this product? Edit: Just to clarify! The 'simply change your report settings' option, just takes me to an option to edit the report title, not the email in any way.

Hello Moz! I haven't been here since the days of SEOMoz, but it's great to be back and i'm really pleased to see lot of shiny new tools at my disposal, but I do have a question in regards to functionality. If I have, for example, 15 clients in my dashboard and would like to run the same report for all of them. Assuming that I just finished creating a custom report for my first client, how can I duplicate this report without having to re-create this report 15 times? Additionally, while I am here. I have noticed that when I add a campaign, the last screen never finishes loading and the window seems to freeze. A quick refresh fixes this, but I thought i'd flag it 🙂

Preferably ones that are useful for SEO purposes, I have been link building for about 3 months now, but to be honest, most of these links are NoFollow, which isn't too great! Paul

Hello All! My website is due for a big update soon, my current site is doing ok, however I want to update all of the content, structure, style and look of my whole site. I feel that with the way it's been going lately that it's time for an upgrade, my question is, will this affect my ranking? Will my page ranking's be affected? Will my DA be affected? Hello All, I came to the forum two weeks ago and prior to that studied SEO until my brain almost melted two weeks before. Now, I've read some great articles here on SEOMoz which have been fantastic. Mainly being this one: http://www.seomoz.org/beginners-guide-to-seo. So anyway, I genuinely throught I got it about a week ago. Here's what I did: First I decided on my keyword: "PC Repair Sheffield". Then, I made a website and on-page optimizaed as best as I possibly could (Graded A on the SEOMoz on-page exam tool). So I decided firstly to add myself to the Independant newspaper Business Directory, because it's free and has a great domain authority. I then went to Yahoo answers, found a Question i knew the answer too and made a whole article on the question, I provided a really useful answer and put a link to my full answer in the 'Source' section. This was a NoFollow Link. Every week, I write a new article and put it in my 'Blog' page. In the articles, I like to cover some problem that I've encountered throughout the week, if, for example, I write about a Hard Drive I replaced in Sheffield, I write about that and link it to my 'PC Repair Sheffield' page. Every article contains a video from Youtube, which is another 'NoFollow' link. Past that, I just find forums which are preffereably not 'No Follow' links and try to help people by answering their questions, but putting more details on my site for them toi see, with a link. That is pretty much the extent of what I 'Get' so far. But I do read a lot of the posts on here and I'm always seeing the Experts on SEO criticise these things and say it's bad without actually explaining why, or how to improve this, or what to do instead in some kind of simple way? I mean, this blog i'm writing, is there really any point? It's unlikely anybody is going to see it, sharing it is just a rediculous assumption. Nobody shares a page on how to fix a hard drive from a local sheffield site. I don't think that NoFollow links are a waste of time, but that's my personal assumption. I think that makes it more natural in a way.. 'Write Fresh Content' and get natural links is a crazy suggestion, nobody is ever going to share it. It's just not the way the world works for small businesses. No task is easy, but none are impossible either, i know that I could do SEO, i'm just not entirely sure 'what to do'.

How do I correctly link my social media pages? I have link going from my Twitter, Facebook and Google + to my website. But a quick Open site explorer check says that I have, 0 Facebook Friends, 0 Twitter followers and 0 Google + Followers. Where as in relaity, I have 100 - 1000 follwers on each. Infact, the hyperlink from my Twitter Profile section doesn't appear as a no follow link atall on an OSE check of my website. Am I linking social media wrong?

Hello All, My website is a PC Repair website called 'Paulspcrepair.co.uk' (example). And recently I want to start my SEO branch to the website, now, would it be better : A: Use my domain Authority already obtained and create a new page, highly optimized for SEO searches. OR B: Create a whole new website, such as 'PaulsSEOWorkshop.co.uk'. If so, why? I can't decide what to try.

My website is brand new, has an A Grade on-page optimization report for my two keywords. Now, the problem that all of my competitors have an average Domain Authority of 50 with a Page Authority of 40. Now, I don't want to enter something I just cannot win, what is a Realistic Expectation for my DA ranking within a three months? Just for clarification, I try to build 5 new links a week, update my blog and I am quite active within forums.

Hello All, I am still very new to this but am starting to get a grasp of things in the SEO world, but there are still a few things that I just don't get yet. For example, I've been trying to find out a great strategy for Link Building, what better way than looking at already existing SEO companies? So I did a quick search on a website (http://www.opensiteexplorer.org/links?site=www.springer-marketing.co.uk) and tried to look at all of the External incoming links. So I did a filter of Followed+301, Only External and all subdomains. But about 20 of the links for this site are coming from itself. Now, i'm not an expert, but presumably you can't just give yourself strong links? Is this some kind of trick, how or why would somebody do this? Mind Blows Paul

I've been link building for a long time but have recently discovered that most of my links are from NoFollow links, such as twitter and Youtube. How can I tell if a website is a 'NoFollow'?

Hello All! I'm wondering about the best way to link build and carry on my video trend. I love to create video's with all of my articles as I feel it adds an extra element to just boring old text! The problem is that my current 25 links from Youtube are all NoFollow. This didn't originally bother me, but it's starting too. Is there a couple of websites that I could upload my article/ video to and gain a  link from in a similar manner? Come to think of it, is this a good SEO tactic to use?

So, what is the latest linking strategies and the best practices for the new year? I'm looking to start a clean, fresh website and would love to implement a great new strategy or tactics that really work with the right amount of effort. Is there a guide available? Preferably from website on-page optimization all the way to a regular routine of what to do. I know it won't be easy, but that's why I love the ever changing world of SEO!

Hello All, I'd like to think that my SEO style was both helpful and useful. But lately i've been thinking that I may be damaging my own SEO! Let me explain, I love forums and technical gossip. Being a IT guy, I usually find an interesting question from websites like Yahoo, Microsoft, SOASE Forums etc etc and write a decent article on one of the questions going into real detail. I then post my basic answer (word limits) and a hyperlink incase anybody wants to read the rest of my article. I used to think that this was great for SEO, because it was certainly great for making great connections. However, a backlink check on my website shows that I have a good 40 - 60 hyperlinks, 40/ 50 of which from just Forums I've posted on but only from 3 - 4 domains. Would this affect my ratings? Looking at my own site from an SEO consultant perspective, having one source of links seems awfully suspicious to me!
