How to Remove Old Photos from Bing Maps (Yelp is Involved)
Hi All,
We have a client with a Bing Maps listing with old photos on it that we can't seem to remove. The photos are being populated from other sites like Yelp. The kicker is, we didn't upload the photos to Yelp, a user did. We've messaged the user to please remove the photos and they haven't responded.
Now Yelp won't let us contact the user again and we've already flagged the photos on Yelp weeks ago but they haven't been removed. We don't see a spot to flag them on Bing.
Do you have any recommendations for how to remove these?

Search Console Linking
Hey everyone!
Quick question; there have been problems in the past with some of our accounts' Search Console integration becoming unlinked from Google Analytics without us knowing about it. I did some digging into Google Analytics to see if there was a way to create an alert for search queries dropping off, but there doesn't seem to be any options for Search Console alerts like there are for other integrations like Google Ads.
Has anyone discovered a way to have an alert or some type of notification set up for when a Search Console integration is unlinked in Google Analytics or if search queries drop off significantly? I'd appreciate the help!

RE: How has the MOZ community used the new query data from Google My Business?
Yeah, that's the one! Looking for a way to export that data in bulk so we can aggregate across many similar clients and do not see that functionality. It would be great if it did exist for us to better understand those consumer behaviors and habits!
Thanks!

How has the MOZ community used the new query data from Google My Business?
Our team has been diving into the wealth of knowledge that the Google My Business query functionality has created for us. In an effort to start the conversation on best practices, we're interested to hear how the MOZ community has used this data. Excited to hear how the community is using the data!

Is there any value in MapQuest?
Hi Moz Community!
Is it worth keeping business information up to date on the MapQuest platform? It seems that MapQuest popularity is rapidly declining, but there aren't many articles or statistics on it's current user base, nor integrations. Is it still relevant?
Would love to hear thoughts on this topic!

Thank you for sharing that thread!

Does a "Read More" button to open up the full content affect SEO?
As we've been refining our metrics for gauging whether or not a blog is effective -- if people are engaging with it -- one of the strategies we've seen (e.g. NYT, WaPo, Yahoo!) is "Read More." I've read a few articles with some who advocate using it and others who discourage it. Does anyone have any history adding "Read More" to their content and the effect it had?

Is there a way to export all your crawl errors for multiple Moz campaigns at once?
We're looking for a simple way to export all crawl errors for our Moz campaigns. More than likely we could use the API, but was wondering if there was any functionality already built into Moz for exporting all crawl errors.

How to see all our ads' relevance scores in Facebook reporting all at once?
Hello,
We run Facebook ads for 30+ companies each month. We have not found a way to quickly monitor relevance scores from all our clients in one reporting format. Right now, we're still going into the ad account for each client, then into each ad to check the relevance scores, either in Ads Manager or Power Editor.
Is there a way we can pull up relevance scores from all ads across clients in one fell swoop using Business Manager reporting features?

Adding Copy on Inventory Listing Pages
Hi All,
We manage a number of auto dealer websites which have their new & used inventory listed on them. There's a separate page for new, used, and CPO inventory, and on most web platforms any filtered inventory subpages are canonicalized back to one of the main inventory pages.
Our question is - should we install unique copy on these to-level inventory pages? We're already installing unique meta and H1s and feel like copy could help these rank for more searches but we have a couple hesitations:
- Most big retailers like Amazon, Zappos, etc don't have copy on these types of pages.
- Putting the copy above the inventory would distract from shopping behavior, but installing it at the bottom of the page would hurt relevance.
We'd appreciate anyone's insight or past experience here! Is it worth taking the time to write unique copy for these pages?
Thanks everyone.

Regular Expression Question
We are having a little trouble coming up with a goal that shows how many product pageviews we are getting but I need to exclude search results pageviews that (unfortunately) have the same URL structure. Because it's an outside CMS, we have not ability to change the URL architecture.
Products are on these types of pages:
- https://porscheasheville.com/inventory/Audi+A4+2.0T+Premium+Plus+Asheville+North+Carolina+2015+Gray+638379
Search results pages have this URL structure:
- https://porscheasheville.com/inventory/?condition=new&make=Porsche&model=Boxster
- https://porscheasheville.com/inventory/used/
- https://porscheasheville.com/inventory/?condition=used&model=A4+2.0T+Premium+Plus
I am hoping to create a GA goal with regular expressions showing only the product pages and not allowing the search results pages show up.
Here's what I have, it's not working - any regex experts out there who can help? /inventory/[new/][used/]
Thanks as always MOZ friends!

RE: Two of Four Google Analytics Views Not Showing Data
I just deleted these views and recreated them the exact same way and they are working - seems like it was just some kind of buggy GA thing here.
-
RE: Two of Four Google Analytics Views Not Showing Data
They were set up correctly with the right inclusions and exclusions - it is very bizarre because it is literally the same exact setup as more than 50 other accounts and for some reason this one is just not loading correctly... any ideas?

Two of Four Google Analytics Views Not Showing Data
Question for you MOZ friends:
We added two new views about a week ago, the same views that we have added for more than 50 Accounts, and they are not showing any data.
The views are for 'Filtered Traffic' (no IPs or spam) and 'Organic Only' including only the organic medium.
Any ideas why this may not be working? First time we've come across this and couldn't find much help researching it...
Thanks as always!

Difference in dashboard accuracy vs listing accuracy
On the dashboard of our listings, the accuracy is different than when you click on the listing. For example, one listing says 93% when you look on the dashboard, but when I click on it is says "88%, get it to 99%". Why is there a difference?

301 Redirect Question
I am working with a website and I ran a Screaming Frog and noticed there are 4,600 301's on the website (www.srishoes.com). It seems like the issue is between the www. and without it and they aren't working together. Is this something that the website provider should update and what type of impact might this have on the site?
Thanks!

RE: Text Scraping Tool
Thanks for the info - and of course always for good and not evil with these types of tools. What I'm hoping to do is just enter a URL, have it scrape the site, and then dump all of the text on the site into a document to put into a keyword density tool to gain perspective on new partner websites for industries where we are entering for the first time. All for SEO, content ideas, learning about value propositions and services as well as for keyword ideas for SEM.
Looks like doing some programming might be the best way to go here - was hoping someone may have already built this kind of functionality!
Thanks again!

RE: What are Some the Best Keyword Research Tools?
I have to respectfully disagree. It's a nice, simple interface, has both national and local relevant information, and to me 88 dollars is not unreasonable to me for the user experience and having it all in one place for Google, Bing and YouTube. It typically gives thousands of long-tail keyword ideas based on those APIs to help build your SEO, paid and content strategies around. We find it extremely helpful and have created great results by incorporating it as a piece of our strategy. Ultimately, it wouldn't be that hard to build the same interface with those APIs, but I would have a hard time calling the 88 dollar subscription for this interface very unreasonable.
We also use Buzzsumo like you mentioned, but more for the social and blogging pieces of our strategy. Definitely another solid tool! Ultimately, to each his own... find something that provides the insight that will help you gain a better perspective of search behavior and build a process around it and you will win.
Cheers,

This is also a cool one visually you might enjoy: http://answerthepublic.com/ - particularly for content.

RE: What are Some the Best Keyword Research Tools?
We really like keywordtool.io, which costs us for our package around $88/mo. It gives Google, Bing & YouTube data and has really helped us out planning for SEO & AdWords competition.

Text Scraping Tool
Can anyone recommend an easy to use website or tool (ideally free) to scrape all the visible text from a website to use for SEO/SEM keyword research?
Thanks as always MOZ friends!

RE: Help with GA Filters - IP Addresses
Figured it out fully! This is how I needed to write the filter to have both in a regular expression:
174.99.90.148|^2606:a000:4e2b:d500
Thanks again everyone for steering me in the right direction!
-
RE: Help with GA Filters - IP Addresses
Not sure why, but it looks like we just have to have separate filters for ipv6 versus ipv4s... works that way, but not combined for whatever reason.
Thanks for the help everyone!
-
RE: Help with GA Filters - IP Addresses
I'm no longer getting the error, but for whatever reason putting them together is not filtering them out. What it looks like I need to do is create a custom filter and determine how to put the ipv6 in as a regular expression, which I do not understand how to do. Do you know?
-
RE: Help with GA Filters - IP Addresses
When I put that in it tells me that it's an invalid IP address...
-
RE: Help with GA Filters - IP Addresses
It does work when I set up a predefined filter blocking IP, but only for that one ipv6 - when trying to add both it isn't working and I'm hoping to only have one filter that blocks multiple IPs... thoughts?
-
RE: Help with GA Filters - IP Addresses
Basically, what I'm trying to do is build the functionality to have all of my IP addresses, both IPv4 and IPv6 in one GA filter. I selected a custom filter to exclude IP addresses that are equal to the below expression, but it's not working for the IPv6. Can someone tell me what's wrong with this setup?
174.99.90.148|2606:a000:4e2b:d500:8519:4fcb:8bf0:78d7
I'm pretty sure the regular expression is incorrect for the IPv6, but I don't know how to do it and cannot figure it out through research.
Thanks as always MOZ friends!
-
RE: Help with GA Filters - IP Addresses
I'd like to put all of these IP addresses in one filter instead of several, which requires a regular expression. These IPs are ours, but I also want to add different partners' IP addresses on their sites. We work with about 50 different websites and I'm hoping to have this as just one of the filters. The regular expression works for the non-IPv6 (thanks!) IP, but the IPv6 one is not filtering.
Make sense? Thanks again for the help!
-
RE: Help with GA Filters - IP Addresses
Pardon the lack of knowing, but what is ipv6? How does that filter look in the GA filter? Thanks!

Help with GA Filters - IP Addresses
I'm having a hard time filtering out both of the IP addresses at our office. One is easy with regular expressions, but the other one does not seem to be working.
Here are the two IP addresses:
2606:a000:4e2b:d500:61d9:9d4e:c539:ea86
174.99.90.148I set up these two custom filters and neither worked for the longer IP address.
2606:a000:4e2b:d500:61d9:9d4e:c539:ea86|174.99.90.148
2606:a000:4e2b:d500:61d9:9d4e:c539:ea86|174.99.90.148Would you please help steer me in the right direction? Thanks as always MOZ friends!

Missing Keywords in Google SERP
We just got this attached image from one of our partners - has anyone seen Google putting 'missing' keywords in SERPs like this before? They said that it was not a plugin or anything and this is a screenshot of their organic search results.

UA Codes on Multiple Sites
Someone came in and set up Google Analytics code on one of our clients' sites before we got there and it is showing data from an outside website that the code is also on. Does anyone know the best way to find out what that other site is so we can remove this code from both sites?
Thanks as always MOZ friends!

RE: Robots.txt Blocking - Best Practices
Thanks for taking the time to respond in depth, GreenStone. We appreciate the advice and have passed your response along to the web hosting company (along with a frustrated email) explaining they're not adhering to anyone's best practices. Hopefully this will convince them!

RE: Robots.txt Blocking - Best Practices
Thanks, Dmitrii for your response! From our research we've seen similar recommendations and it helps to have more evidence to back it up. Hopefully these guys will give in a bit!

Robots.txt Blocking - Best Practices
Hi All,
We have a web provider who's not willing to remove the wildcard line of code blocking all agents from crawling our client's site (user-agent: *, Disallow: /). They have other lines allowing certain bots to crawl the site but we're wondering if they're missing out on organic traffic by having this main blocking line. It's also a pain because we're unable to set up Moz Pro, potentially because of this first line.
We've researched and haven't found a ton of best practices regarding blocking all bots, then allowing certain ones. What do you think is a best practice for these files?
Thanks!
User-agent: * Disallow: / User-agent: Googlebot Disallow: Crawl-delay: 5 User-agent: Yahoo-slurp Disallow: User-agent: bingbot Disallow: User-agent: rogerbot Disallow: User-agent: * Crawl-delay: 5 Disallow: /new_vehicle_detail.asp Disallow: /new_vehicle_compare.asp Disallow: /news_article.asp Disallow: /new_model_detail_print.asp Disallow: /used_bikes/ Disallow: /default.asp?page=xCompareModels Disallow: /fiche_section_detail.asp

Sitemap Priority and Recency
Perhaps more of a discussion here than a definite answer, but we are looking at making periodic changes to the priority and recency of our sitemap pages, but would have to repopulate that information each time our plugin updates for our WordPress site. Is this something that is even worth doing or are these updates not impactful enough to merit adding it to our process?
Thanks all!

Schema - LocalBusiness markup for national companies
If we are marking up schema for a company that does services nationally, but has one physical location, should we use LocalBusiness for the organization type? It's an advertising company that is based in North Carolina, but services companies nationally.
Thanks as always friends!

Duplicate Schema within webpage
I'm implementing schema across a few Wordpress sites. Most (probably all) WP sites use widgets for their footer, which offer their own editable HTML. Is it damaging (or helpful) to implement the exact same markup in the footer and a specific page, like for instance, a locations page that has the address and contact info (which are also in the footer)?
-
RE: JSON-LD parsing error
So this source code is from a WP site... the script is for a slider banner... is it necessary to implement schema for it? Or will Google simply skip over it? Is it just the analysis tool itself doesn't know what to make of the code? Are there any long term metric issues we may run into if we leave it as is? Thanks again for your input.

JSON-LD parsing error
I was wondering if anyone had a NON-SCHEMA MARK-UP solution for the following... I ran my Wordpress homepage HTML (after I implemented schema mark-up) in the structured data testing tool and received an error parsing the JSON-LD... it came at the beginning of the code and I know it is from the slider banner plugin... We are trying to see if there as an alternative to implementing schema with in the js... also does anyone know if the actual Google search will simply skip over the code and parse the rest of HTML? Thank you for your help.

RE: Google Analytics - Dashboard Question
That's kind of what I was thinking - kind of a bummer for what we're doing here, but we are definitely getting pretty granular.
Thanks again for all your help!!

RE: Google Analytics - Dashboard Question
The biggest problem that I am having is I want to group all of the product pages (which is a goal), then by source show the amount of time spent by source across just those pages. Do you know if this is possible?
Thank you again for all your help!!

RE: Google Analytics - Dashboard Question
That is helpful, but I can't find a way to drill down to a secondary dimension on the widgets on a dashboard. We are creating a dashboard with 12 helpful widgets to demonstrate how traffic is creating shopping behavior and this one would be extremely helpful, but I am having problems with some of the limitations within GA.
Is this possible?

Google Analytics - Dashboard Question
I'm looking to set up a dashboard widget in Google Analytics that does the following but can't :
Shows traffic sources in a table as the dimension, and wanting to show goal completions to a specific product page and then only show what the average time spent (by source) on just those product pages. It looks like it's showing the whole session duration for the entire source, but I want to create a secondary filter that is only showing the time spent on those specific pages.
Can anyone help - or is this possible?
Thanks all!

Floating-share-buttons.com
We are seeing a tremendous amount of traffic coming to our site from this traffic source. Does anyone know what this is and if it's spam how to remove it?
Thanks all!
