Although Google now recognises spammy backlinks and understands that you're not trying to be malicious, although we always keep a close eye on rankings as too many can have a negative affect

Hi all,
I have a ski website that I am currently performing a toxic backlink audit on. I have noted that a lot of the links being flagged as toxic/spammy by the tool I am using seem to be the same/similar sites with different URLs. The sites are vaguely related to skiing (relating to helicopter travel options for travelling to ski resorts) but it is concerning me that there are so many of them and they are being flagged as so toxic.
Do you think it is worth disavowing these? Or contacting the owner to ask them to remove the link?

I have swapped to Rank Math now as I think it is a better tool so the cause will not have been a conflict with Yoast.
This isn't a client we do too much work for, they simply reach out when they would like some help with something like this issue.
Perhaps I will propose that we optimize their site content.

I am wondering if you can help – I have a client using Yoast for their Meta descriptions and each is filled in and unique, but when searching ‘ski magic’ on Google, the page with linked pages under all but one show the same meta description? I am hoping you can see the issue in the image below

I'd simply delete all the ones that get no traffic.
Do the rest provide value? If so? Consolidate the rest into logical useful tags.
We have done this quite a few times and removing the bloat has positive impacts.
You can crawl the site after with something like screaming frog to find any 404's. You can create redirects for broken pages. This will make sure no 404's exist.

If you don't need tags at all you can remove them from the index to test the water... If you have Yoast you can set tags to no index on this page: (yourdomain.com)/wp-admin/admin.php?page=wpseo_titles#top#taxonomies
Then if you don't need them and none are providing no value. Delete and apply redirects for broken pages if necessary.

We host around 300 WordPress websites and they do get attacked all the time. Any on cheap hosting plans do get hacked. So we have an Optimised WordPress hosting service with a hack protection guarantee. So, in a nutshell, the host is a huge factor. Plus a decent host will be faster, so that will help SEO.

Hi, it looks clean, although there is a lot of text TLDR. SO maybe consider having clear to the point messages and they can link to a detailed page with a deeper understanding.
Also, make sure things are aligned. For example the footer. It's a trust factor.

We have a client who sells chalet holidays on two different websites. There are 12 Chalets in total dotted around the alps.
We want these locations to feature on Google My Business for both websites.
However, it seems to only let us choose between having one website or the other. What's the best way to have both featuring all 12 chalets?
Currently, we have them all listed individually in a grouped location under one website.

I have a client who had a range of spammy links going to their website. The links were from exact match anchor text, from duplicate content and poor quality, irrelevant domains. They also had built a number of sites and linked to my client's site from each of the footers.
All the domains they owned have been redirected to the site we're working on. We also disavowed all the spammy links going to the site.
This was over a month ago and rankings haven't changed and in fact, have gone down slightly.
Is there any other course of action anybody could suggest or should i wait longer in the hope the disavow is still yet to be accounted for?

My client has some strange urls appearing in GA which lead to error pages. Please see the following image:
e.g URLs like /h/6445738.html
I've used screaming frog to see if these pages exist on the website and I can't find them, anywhere. Therefore how are they coming up in GA?

This is the publish date of the article. You can change this in your post settings usually. In WordPress it's the top right corner in the post dashboard.

Also get a SSL. Helps with rankings and buyer confidence.

I've build 100's of sites. They mostly have site wide footer links pointing back to me. I know this is now frowned on. But does anyone have a good solution to get maximum value back from these?
A few have a footer link to a credit page that then links back.
I get quite a lot of work back from them. So I don't really fancy removing them.

Will that effect UK searches tho? As it currently ranks well for those people looking from the UK too. It needs to cover both country's and international quires.
I'd assume we make a sub directory:
site.com/ch/en/ targeted with HREFLANG for ch-en.
and
site.com/ targeted with HREFLANG for gb-en.

We had a site with many bad links pointing to it (.co.uk). It was knocked from the SERPS.
We tried to manually ask webmasters to remove links.Then submitted a Disavow and a recon request.
We have since moved the site to a new URL (.com) about a year ago. As the company needed it's customer to find them still. We 301 redirected the .co.uk to the .com
There are still lots of bad links pointing to the .co.uk.
The questions are:
#1 Do we stop the 301 redirect from .co.uk to .com now? The .co.uk is not showing in the rankings. We could have a basic holding page on the .co.uk with 'we have moved' (No link). Or just switch it off.
#2 If we keep the .co.uk 301 to the .com, shall we upload disavow to .com webmasters tools or .co.uk webmasters tools. I ask this because someone else had uploaded the .co.uk's disavow list of spam links to the .com webmasters tools. Is this bad?

Im not sure what it was that caused it, but by turning it off, it seems to be now crawlable.

Looking into it, it seems to be giving a 503 error to the google bot.

It also doen't show meta description info.
