I agree that doing all you can to find contact details is the best way to go. Another way to find people is via social media accounts.

Job Title: Owner
Company: EldercareABC Blog
Website Description
EldercareABC began as an idea based on empathy and community. My wife Sandy and I had cared for both of our parents and now they were all gone. What was not gone was the memory of how challenging the experience had been. We had raised two children and thought we knew what care giving was about.
We had the good fortune to have a supportive extended family. We knew we were lucky and that many people rise to the challenge of an aging parent alone. Our hearts go out to these people and EldercareABCBlog.com is our practical response to that emotion.

RE: Google's Structured Data Testing Tool? No Data
Our site had been showing up in the structured data tool since it began. All of a sudden within the last few days we noticed that when we type in our home page the message no longer shares our author data, and schema, but returns: Invalid URL or page not found
When we use the html tab and add our code, all our mark ups are showing up.
We are baffled as the site is still indexed on google. We have applied the same code to two other sites, and they work fine.

RE: Above the Fold Content
Any images that you do add anywhere to the site should also have the proper tags so the search engines know they are there. You want to include quality unique content that serves your reader well above and below the fold, whenever possible.

RE: Open site explorer varied results according to country
This makes sense. So now, I have typed in two searches.
one with www. for a competing site, and one without the www. and that did show a different result. So perhaps that is our issue.
It is good to know it is not dependent on a location as we have a global client base.
Thanks!

Open site explorer varied results according to country
We have a global team and we have noticed something unusual. When we do a "Compare link metrics" search in Open Site Explorer in the US our client is beating the competition hands down.
When we run the exact same data in Canada, where our client is based, the client has the same metrics, but a few of the competitors numbers are higher.
What could cause this variation? Both accounts are full versions, and not freebies.

RE: Please give me some ideas on my link building campaign
What about sites that talk about picking a career, funding schooling, etc.?
Perhaps you might look at your competitors and see how they are linking to the universities?
Perhaps you could do some top notch articles on pharmacy schools and get some guest blogs on some better sites?

RE: Can this make one's local listing vanish from Google local search?
If you make changes to the address or phone, Google says it will require a verification. I would check and make sure removing Portland didn't change the site from live, to waiting to be verified.

RE: Google Analtyics Changes?
Hi Keri,
Thank you for asking, I missed this. We asked someone to take a look, and there were two instances of the G/A code installed.
Thanks again for checking back.

RE: Video Transcription
Hi Erin,
Thank you for taking the time to answer. This helps us to proceed.

Video Transcription
Does anyone have any best practices for video transcription strategy.
We download the file at youtube, edit it, remove the time and upload it again, where youtube adds the time according to the edited file
I've seen some transcripts under the video section that have not time on that? Does anyone know how that's done?
I've also seen keywords added into those? Any recommendations around that.
Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

RE: Some questions about guest posting
1) We usually do just one link in our resource box.

We prefer sites that have a variety of PR and we look to see if they have been around a while. Not only via domain age, but we will drop the url into the internet wayback machine to see a snapshot of their history.

We have only seen negatives from a site owner's perspective. We own several sites in a similar niche and we will get the same cookie-cutter letter, with the same errors, signed by a different person in a day for the different sites. We use that negative and turn it into a positive when contacting websites and offering our content!

RE: To Optimize Brand Name or Product Name First on Product Pages for E-Commerce Website?
I would say that if the brand name is well known, it would go first, if not, I think the product.

I think these social media graphics are some great examples of some good samples.
