RE: Best Way to Incorporate FAQs into Every Page - Duplicate Content?
Another option I am thinking is to include this section in an iFrame, since I know iFrames are not read by search engines.
What do you think about that solution?

RE: Best Way to Incorporate FAQs into Every Page - Duplicate Content?
Thanks for the response.
Here is a crude image of what we're thinking - http://screencast.com/t/GkhOktwC4I
The text would be hidden/displayed via javascript, so it would not really affect the user's experience in a negative way.

Best Way to Incorporate FAQs into Every Page - Duplicate Content?
Hi Mozzers,
We want to incorporate a 'Dictionary' of terms onto quite a few pages on our site, similar to an FAQ system.
The 'Dictionary' has 285 terms in it, with about 1 sentence of content for each one (approximately 5,000 words total).
The content is unique to our site and not keyword stuffed, but I am unsure what Google will think about us having all this shared content on these pages.
I have a few ideas about how we can build this, but my higher-ups really want the entire dictionary on every page. Thoughts?

Huge Dip in Traffic Last Week - New Algo Update?
Hi Mozzers,
We experienced a huge dip in traffic on Thursday, 8/14, across our entire site. It was not a specific set of pages, it was sitewide. Google Webmaster Tools notes our impressions are down as well. The traffic has not recovered. It appears our pages are still indexed in Google, just not ranking well.
Here are some questions I have to help isolate the cause:
- We recently completed a major redesign of our entire website on 7/26. We did not notice any dip in traffic after the new design launch - in fact, it actually increased a bit. Is it possible that only now Google sees our new site design and this is the reason for our dip? Is there a way to see Google's past cache dates?
- Did anyone else experience a similar dip in traffic since Thursday?
- Was there a recent Google update?
It would be much appreciated if someone takes a look at our site - www.consumerbase.com for any glaring SEO errors (missing necessary meta tags, etc.).
What steps do you guys suggest I take to isolate the cause in this dip in traffic?
Thanks!

RE: What is the absolute strongest way to increase domain authority?
Is OpenSiteExplorer showing those new links you acquired? If OSE hasn't detected the links yet, they won't affect your DA.
If yes, check to see if you lost links from other sites and had a net loss, thus the drop in DA.

RE: What is a "Bad Link" in Google's eyes? Low DA?
All the anchor texts are pretty much our brand name or our website domain. No specific keywords. That should keep us safe, right? Thanks for your help!

RE: What is a "Bad Link" in Google's eyes? Low DA?
Hmm interesting. If Google or the NYT wanted to post an article you wrote on their home page with a link to your site, would you say no and put it on your 5k visitor/month site instead?
The exposure is worthwhile if no one will be able to find the content on your own site anyway.

What is a "Bad Link" in Google's eyes? Low DA?
Hi there,
I'm going through my link profile and I noticed I have a few links that are from <10 DA sites. One has a DA of 6. Should I remove these?
Aside from any referral traffic I receive from these links (I know there is none), are these links hurting me?
What should I look out for in a site I may guest post on?Thanks!

RE: Product Page rankings - How to boost?
Yep, I mean a trail of category page links on product pages, like this - http://screencast.com/t/YSlLeuXeG
Personally I have noticed this not only reinforces the site structure, but helps more pages of my site get crawled because it makes it easier for Google's spiders to navigate my site.

RE: Search Pages outranking Product Pages
We had the same problem, but decided to embrace it.
I started optimizing and adding content to a few of the search results pages (and made them static, not dynamic) and now they rank fairly well.
However, for dynamic search pages I suggest you noindex them.
Google recommends it, and it's best to follow their recommendations. -
RE: How do I find what keywords competitors are ranking for?
You may be thinking of semrush.com.

RE: Increasing Unbranded Organic Traffic
Unbranded organic traffic is the name of the game!
Personally I do not even waste time on trying to obtain BRANDED organic traffic, that all comes on its own. The only time I try and affect our branded search results is if I am trying to push down a negative review or some unflattering page.

RE: Is there a suggested limit to the amount of links on a sitemap?
I believe he is referring to an actual site map html page, not an XML file to submit to Google.

RE: Any/All opinions needed/welcomed for domain name idea choices:
I suggest you use either P3ConsultingSolutions.com (ideal) or PThreeConsulting.com. The main reasons being the other 3 options contain articles (for, a, with) or a hyphen, which is generally a last resort. Here is a great post about choosing a domain name: http://www.seomoz.org/blog/how-to-choose-the-right-domain-name Hope that helps!

RE: E-Commerce keyword question
These are called long tail keywords. If you focus on "ItemA for sale" you'll benefit from essentially 2 keywords for the price of one, and to some extent, also other long tail keywords since "ItemA" is in there.
As to targeting them all individually - it's all about your commitment and how much time you want to spend.

RE: Rich-Snippets with Sitelinks. How-to?
Here's what I know about sitelinks in a nutshell:
Google randomly chooses them, there is no markup involved.
From my experience, more prominent pages from your navigation tend to be chosen.
All you can do is choose which pages should NOT display as sitelinks by demoting them in GWT.
It is easiest to attain sitelinks for branded search terms.

RE: Is it currently possible to have a company logo appear with a Google search result?
Rel=publisher will display your company logo and Google+ page on the right hand side of branded search terms (search terms close to or exactly your company name).
Google will not allow you to upload a non-headshot (such as a logo) for a rel=author snippet that will appear directly in your search result.

RE: Site for my clients to log in and see their traffic, etc.
I was the one who said to add a custom report, not Karl.
Personally I ONLY use custom reporting instead of the initial "Audience Overview" because I know those reports are inaccurate (it attributes some of our PPC traffic to Organic, etc).
It's up to you, but I'm a bit of a data fan and love customizing my reporting (I have 20 reports for one of our sites that I can quickly page through each day).
I find them particularly useful for segmenting specific pages on your site.

RE: Big Jump in Domain Rank
I agree with Schwaab that there was something wrong with the previous update (or it was just run differently).
All my competitors and I dropped in DA after the previous update, but after the most recent update it seems to have fixed itself (3 points down, then 3 points back up).
Looks like your connection to Moz was lost, please wait while we try to reconnect.
