So I'm trying to figure out exactly what type redirect or hyperlinking Yahoo! is using on their article pages. For example:
https://shopping.yahoo.com/blogs/fashionate/spring-clean-your-beauty-routine--10-tips-on-looking-fresh-this-season-000058218.html Hover over an external link, it shows you the ending URL. Right or left click it, it gives you a 302 redirect. When you actually left click it, it adds and "id" attribute, I assume for tracking. However, when you left click the the hyperlink, it no longer shows as a 302. I have limited working knowledge of web development techniques, so anyone with advance knowledge or have actually done this, it'd be helpful to understand this more.

I'm looking to do some study in impact across the board on structured data and would like to know if anyone has any good studies on CTR, possibly rankings and overall performance. Any awesome links would be helpful 🙂

Hi guys, I haven't played around with advance segments enough to know the answer to this, so looking for some help. What I want to track is a keyword through the whole analytics, so I created an advance segment for "KEYWORD". This segment is Include - Keyword - "KEYWORD". Now when I remove the advance segment and do the following: Traffic Sources - Organic - Primary Dimension - Keyword - "KEYWORD" The amounts of visits differ a lot. I'm guessing this has to do with sessions? Looking for a clarification on this.

So I'm working on a site right now that has been plagued with spun/rewritten content..we are talking in the thousands. Now would it be a smarter idea to just remove all the content or leave the content? This is an ecommerce site and I'm tasking a few people to rewrite fresh authentic content. So all of the spun/thin content will be removed eventually. The main question is to just delete it all right now or just replace as we go. I'd like to know what you guys think.

From my knowledge only way an HTML link is nofollow is using rel="nofollow". I was wondering if you have a link , is there anything you can put OTHER than rel="nofollow" within the <a></a>tags that make a link nofollow?

Hi all, Having some trouble figuring out a metric I'm dissecting. We have a large amount of traffic going to deep pages and I'm looking at the traffic source and an alarming amount are coming as Direct traffic. The thing is this can't type in or bookmarked traffic, so what else could it be? We have numbers like 80% and 60% for direct traffic, which judging by our previous efforts, that just can't right. Anyone can figure out what I may be missing out? Deeper pages should usually not get as much Direct traffic, so what can it be?

Directories are no longer as effective anymore but I still think this is a good deal especially for a lifetime link at 50% off. Hi all, Well I've finally gotten been able to get the penalty removed judging by this email: "Dear site owner or webmaster of xxx, We received a request from a site owner to reconsider xxx for compliance with Google's Webmaster Guidelines. Previously the webspam team had taken manual action on your site because we believed it violated our quality guidelines. After reviewing your reconsideration request, we have revoked this manual action. It may take some time before our indexing and ranking systems are updated to reflect the new status of your site. Of course, there may be other issues with your site that could affect its ranking without a manual action by the webspam team. Google's computers determine the order of our search results using a series of formulas known as algorithms. We make hundreds of changes to our search algorithms each year, and we employ more than 200 different signals when ranking pages. Sincerely, Google Search Quality Team" This was after a reconsideration request was sent prior to disavow tool being released. In addition I also applied a disavow of all the links I was unsuccessful in removingwithout contacting Google and letting the original reconsideration request run it's course. I am making this post just to let everyone know that the hard work pays off and Google is just trying to make sure you are doing your best in removing the links. As 'Ryan Kent' always emphasizes, you must really be diligent and honest when trying to remove links. You also need to keep documentation, I anchored contact pages and email addresses, 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and even 4th attempt dates. Now with the disavow tool, I believe if you do a "good faith" in removing the links, and it is well documented, you can use the disavow tool after multiple attempts, correlating both the disavow links and the spreadsheet sent to Google is and should be very important in a reconsideration request. Good luck! Also I received the message from WMT, and wondering does anyone know how long is 'some time' before site is reindexed? So far our organic traffic is still about the same prior. So I would like to hear what other's experience are after a successful reconsideration. Feel free to ask any questions!

I'm getting extremely poor conversion rates at checkout..would like to hear some ideas to increase checkout. Last month we had 60 users who added to cart, and only 7 who converted. We offer merchant CC, PayPal, and GCO, so I don't believe payment options is the reason for the exit. Any ideas?

Hi Mozzers, I've been working on redesigning and revamping this site, http://www.canvaspaintings.com. Their domain and keyword are a match but not ranking #1. Some initial things I feel that needs to be changed are the links on the side and top bar, viewing the on page report, it does have a lot of links on every page. Trying to figure out how to remove them without having the top nav look empty. Previous category descriptions were written by possibly an article spinner or keyword stuffed writer. Need to start building more links, although PR5, it doesn't rank too well. Let me know your opinions and thoughts, I would love to hear them out. TMI!

Hi all, I'm a bit stumped on a SERP. The product is ranking higher than the actual category. Is there anyway to fix this? When I type in "category111", I get the product link instead of a link to the general category. It would be "productname category111" and link would point to product not category. Hope that makes since! TIA

I am not sure if this is doable but one of my clients have their website's SERP with sitelinks extension. In example. www.example.com -example1 -example2 -example3 -example 4 Anyway to modify the sitelinks on the SERP?

Hi all, I'm still in my dilema after taking over this ecommerce site. Currently running Volusion(please for your own sake never use them, 7$ for each GB over), I plan on taking the site to a dedicated server running on Magento. Should we worry too much since majority of our links are to the root domain while a small portion is to actual products? I think there should be more emphasis on the categories and root domain rather than actual product pages. I mean this is e-commerce and not a content site. Thanks!

So recently purchased an ecommerce site to work on with lots of potential. The site was effected by Penguin update and now I am trying to fix up some issues. One of the problems I think may be the articles that he had written within the site. The site is an ecommerce site but has lots of articles like how to's and tips. A lot of these articles are not very fluent but seems to be written for SEO. Should I just remove them entirely or should I just stuff them in the back somewhere.
