Thanks Mike for input on the GEO difference, but do you have any idea how a local company can rank, even locally, on that kind of BROAD term with ONLY 7 inbound links? Very strange. Thanks.

What are inbound links worth after Panda and Penguin, since a site ranks for the NATIONAL keyword "outdoor furniture" with ONLY 7 INBOUND LINKS!?!?
ARE INBOUND LINKS TODAY ALMOST WORTHLESS??!!? After having been the KING of SEO, down to the toilet? Today I got a great sample from a fellow SEO professional showing a site, rockymountainfurniture.com rank for "outdoor furniture" with ONLY 7 INBOUND LINKS FROM 3 DOMAINS and a domain trust of 14!!!! ON A NATIONAL, VALUABLE, HIGH QUERY VOLUME KEYWORD!! I was stunned, but is this the "NEW SEO WORLD" we live in, so we should skip spending hundreds of hours on link building? There are over 32 different types of inbound links but this is much MORE than a radical change, this is turning SEO as it was up-side-down.
Any input, thoughts, ideas?

RE: Which are the best directory submission sites: UBL.org, localeeze.com, web-listings.net, other?
Trying to create a CONSISTENT NAP info across ALL directories and local listings, as well as get some back-links to get some local SEO boost, in a time-and-price efficient way. Do not mind paying but if it a lot of duplicate directories, we figured it might make sure we pick the ones with least overlap and largest reach of quality directories.

What multi directory submit services should one use?
ubl.org, getlisted.org, localeze.com (neustar now), yext.com ? They all have some overlap, but what is worth paying for? Can you cover 90% of the market with e.g. just Yext and ubl.org or?

How vital is it for a site to have a mobile site for mobile SEO?
With the exponential growth in mobile device sales and usage and an expected 980% growth in advertising next year for/on mobile devices, we at http://www.mobilewebsitegurus.com decided that it was time to help companies create great looking mobile websites that are user friendly and SEO friendly at affordable rates with tons of features built in from the start. However, when selling our design, how important is it to have a GOOD mobile site compared to a big one to rank on mobile devices? We head that Google was thinking of only showing mobile sites on mobile devices. NOT TRUE. Then we read/heard that the rankings were MUCH BETTER if you had a mobile site, but after a lot of research we found that too NOT to be true. On most sites there were NO difference. So what is the TRUTH about this and is it maybe just that it will happen, just has not happened yet - the different rankings for mobile and regular sites on mobile devices that is? ANY insight in this would be great not only for us but for the entire SEO community Thanks. ALSO, add "Mobile SEO" to the boxes below of "Topics" since mobile SEO will grow in importance.

Hom much does getting a mobile website improve the "mobile ranking"?
There's been speculation about Google totally not ranking sites that are not mobile, but as far as I can see many sites rank THE SAME on mobile devices as on regular stationary PCs/lap-tops. I had hoped for a radically improved ranking once a mobile site was built. Or is it just that it takes a TON of time for it to go through and then it gets better or is it like with regular sites that a new mobile site on a sub-domain is parked in some form of mobile-sand-box? Also, does putting a mobile site on a ranking domain, as subdomain help, e.g. m.testingsite.com instead of testingsite.mobi ? Thanks.

Which are the best directory submission sites: UBL.org, localeeze.com, web-listings.net, other?
Manual sumbissions are a PAIN IN THE B, why good directory submission management sites are great. However, which ones are the best ones?

What is the best strategy for franchise companies when building local sites?
Hi, if you represent a national franchise, I have noticed that Dominos and others do NOT use local websites for LOCAL SEO, rather they use their own MAMMOTH sites with a store locator for the local stores with a few NOT keyword rich pages with very basic information. However, for LOCAL SEO, I have been thinking that using e.g. Hyperfranchise.com for the main domain and then e.g. buckhead.hyperfranchise.com or buckheadhyperfrnachise.com would be better for LOCAL SEO including Yelp, FourSquare and more.It will take time to rank for all local sites, but is that not better in the end than having e.g. 6 pages of content that are "local" on the main site?
However, I have not seen any of the big ones do that, but that might be because they are so entrenched in their own OLD system that might be ranking well anyway for their local franchisees?
Any comments, ideas, suggestions?
