How long should "Term Extractor" be let alone to complete??
-
It's been left alone to grind now for a good 20 mins, and ah... it's still grinding away.
Is it worth just trying again? Or does that typically mean it probably isn't going to work on the domain it's, ah, grinding away on?
Thanks

Thank you Anthony,
I appreciate your answer and the pointer. I'm enjoying the suite of tools.

Well, the tool itself is no longer maintained by SEOMoz so I guess you might struggle if its not playing ball. I've found it intermittent a few times before, too.
If you're a PRO member then you can use the Keyword Analysis tool within the Campaign Manager to get the same results and then some.

Quote "There is no SEO software that can help optimize a site"
Hi all I am a developer for a small agency in the UK. I am using SEOmoz for a couple of our clients and I am also using it to learn from. So far I am finding it a great tool and this forum is also incredibly helpful. Now I also visit another forum called HighRankings.com and this months newsletter is a list of points that are defined as "SEO Mistakes". In it, point number 2 reads: "Repeat after me: There is no specific number of times a keyword phrase should be used in my content. There is no magic number of words that my pages should have written on them. And there is no best number of words or phrases that belong in a Title tag. And most of all: There is no SEO software that can optimize my website (despite the claims of their creators). Use your common sense to optimize your site! Learn how your target audience searches for products, services and information such as yours, and write about it accordingly on your website. Then write to make an emotional connection with your visitors so that they'll convert into happy customers." Now as a user of SEOmoz I wondered what others thought of this comment? Many thanks for reading. Kris

Open Site Explorer.. Bit of a let down?
Hi, not too sure if this is a discussion or rant!? I’ve been following SEOMoz for a couple of years now. Testing their tools, reading their blogs, sharing their content, and watching the whiteboard Friday videos (massive thumbs up to that one!). They are at the top of the game, no argument there. Although I should have done so much earlier, I have eventually signed up to the pro version and am about to migrate all my clients over. But there is one major caveat which I’m not sure should exist.. Open Site Explorer. Don’t get me wrong, OSE provides invaluable metrics, some that no other ‘crawler’ provides, but it is far from perfect, there are things that we SEO’s need, and are hoping to get! Some feature SEOMoz could add; Ability to view a chart of ‘link types’ (i.e. blog post, social media, Press Release etc..) – Linkdex do this! Utilise a ‘fresh‘ backlink index as Majestic SEO do. ( we do use majestic alongside SEOMoz) Crawl more frequently – enough said! Index all ‘not so good’ backlinks – this will help identify what backlinks AREN’T helping. I realise this is a lot easier said than done, and I’m sure SEOMoz are working on solutions.. just can’t wait till they launch! What do you think? IS OSE more than it’s cracked up to be? Could it be improved? Let me know 🙂 Lee

How long is a full crawl?
It's been now over 3 days that the dashboard for one of our campaigns shows "Next Crawl in Progress!". I am not complaining about the length... but I have to agree that SEOMoz is quite addictive, and it's quite frustrating to see that everyday 🙂 Thanks

How long does it take for a campaign website crawl to be completed?
Our campaign website crawl has been 'crawling' now for 5 days. Is this a normal phenomenon or is something hanging up?

Title element too long. Site title on every page?
Hi.. I'm running a theme on wordpress called "The Morning After" (not sure that matters). Right now it seems to be adding my site title to each page title, making it well over the recommended 70 characters. I only see this in my crawl results on SEOmoz so I'm not sure if that's how other bots see it, but wonder if anyone else has had this problem and if so, how do I fix it? Thanks! SJ
