On-Site Blog or Blog Service for Best SEO Results
-
I had a blog associated with my site, then I had to merge two Google accounts and to make a long story short, my old Blogger page won't transfer to the new account. So, I'm starting fresh.
My Question: Would I benefit most from an on-site subdomain blog, adding content to my site on a weekly/monthly basis, or an off-site blog such as Blogger, linking back to pages and resources on my site?
Then, any other juicy tips would be great. Honestly, I won't expect a large subscription base. There will be a natural draw for some trade associates, and I'll be linking and promoting them as well.
Thanks for any input. I'm new to the community, and SEO, but really impressed with this community.

I have a mixture of on-site and off-site blogs, which were all set up in the last 9 months. Time and time again I've seen upward SERP movement for keywords recently targeted in on-site blog posts, but I haven't seen comparable shifts for sites which just have an off-site blog.
It really annoys me when off-site blogs attract organic links which I would prefer went to an on-site blog. That said, I can't quantify whether it is more appealing to link to a blog which refers traffic to an eCommerce site rather than to a blog on an eCommerce site - I think it would influence the choice to give a link in some cases, but I can't prove it.
We may find over time that the off-site blogs attract enough links to pass decent link juice. We do know from customer feedback that some people are buying from us rather than competitors specifically because they found the blogs helpful, even when the blogs were off-site only.
Although I lean towards predominantly using on-site blogs, I think there is a place in a marketing campaign for having a presence in other places whether through external blogs or careful article placement.

Would it be smart to have 2 different blogs on our site?
I run Wick Video - where we make animated videos for businesses. We are toying around with making blog/video content geared toward marketers, _and _creating blogs/tutorials geared toward designers and animators. Since it's two totally different groups, we've had the idea of making two separate blogs. Is that a good idea? Any websites currently doing this well?

Tools to Eval Blog Content - Rate your Fav tool
Ok, so I know that is has been covered in depth and at the risk of being sent to “google it!” (Which I have done with no success) I thought that I would ask your opinions on the topic. What are the best content marketing evaluation tools? By this I am specifically referring to tools that evaluate the content of Blogs, etc and not the performance of the blog, etc. I’m eager to hear your thoughts of what works and if you care to share what tools did not. Thanks

How to Integrate a Wordpress Blog into my Website
We are looking at integrating a blog into our website. Unfortunately, our content management system is very clunky and not set up to quickly publish blog style content. I'd like to use Wordpress and set up the blog as a subdomain of my company website. Our URL is www.blockandcompany.com so the blog URL would be www.blog.blockandcompany.com. Is it correct to say that if the blog is set up this way, the search engines will see the regular website and the Wordpress hosted blog as one big site? I want to use the blog to write keyword-rich content, but I don't want to divide my SEO "equity" between two separate sites. Any advice?
