Title tag keyword prioritizing

It's widely accepted that in title tags, the first word ranks the highest, and each word after that contributes less than the one before. So a page with the title "Philadelphia Parks" will rank higher than "Parks in Philadelphia" for Philadelphia, but the second page will rank higher for Parks.
With this in mind, which keywords should I put first in the title tags of my product pages? Brand name? Product SKU? Is it better to prioritze general words with higher search volume (more impressions) or more specific terms with lower search volume (stronger long tail)? Any guidance would be appreciated.

I see what you mean, so you have a bit of a unique situation. Have you done keyword research? Do you have an idea of what you really want to rank for based upon search volume etc? Do people search for these specific product names and variations?

The problem is that, because we are a specialized store, the product names are very similar. Basically "No. 5 Blue Widget", "No. 5A Blue Widget," "No. 18 Red Widget," etc. I can't optimize all 2000 pages for "widget," but "5" isn't much of a keyword either.

I would prioritize the product name in the title tag on product pages. Other pages on your site should prioritize the Brand name (assuming you have multiple products from that brand, and a category page for that brand). I'm not too sure prioritizing a SKU would help, since it likely does not receive searches.
Think of it like this; your homepage should prioritize the brand of the website and its perhaps its core keyword. As you drill down into the pages, each page should successfully target categories, sub categories, products etc.
You may want to do some looking at site architecture resources, as they would give you ideas on how to prioritize keywords looking at the site as a whole.

Deleting Tags without Penalty?
Hello - We have a site with over 1,000 tags. We added too many and would like a fresh start as they are creating a lot of duplicate pages on the site. What is the best way to go about deleting all of these tags without being penalized by Google? Is there a way to tell Google direclty to stop crawling them? Difficulties in positiong a specific keyword
Hi, I am responsible for the blinds and curtains brand Kaaten and the its online store that operates in the Spanish market, during the last 6 months we have increasing substantially the traffic and improving the positioning of our main keywords (in most of the cases we postion right under Ikea and Leroy Merlin). However, there is a keyword that I cannot get to position, not even in the top 50 positions - that is the word "cortinas". I do not understand why is that happening as in a word like "estores" with similar monthly searches and competition we rank 3rd. Looking at the Home site and analysing both keywords the density is similar, so I do not see many differences there. I also cleaned up a bit the content to remove some "cortinas" keywords and thus avoid the keyword stuffing, but no results so far. Does any of you have any suggestion that what I can do to position better in that particular keyword? Look forward for your response and thanks for your help.

Keywords Rankings-Change-Bug?
Bug? or just because the change happened beyound the Top 50 within Bing & Yahoo SERPs? The Keyword Ranking for in the example "dry desulfurization" shows a change of >40 up, but the history (Google) does not show these changes. May be, it is that the change was within Yahoo and Bing Rankings, and because the keyword is not showing up within the Top 50, I just can't see? ... but Rogerbot is considering. Schema tags - Schema.org
We have rolled out Schema tags for our homepage which has been very beneficial for us. We obviously don't want to go overboard however; can you please clarify, should Schema tags be limited to the homepage location, or implemented through the site? Thanks

Having both <title>and <meta name="title"...> on a web page?</title>
Hi All, Client of mine using reversed Meta Tags format in their website and Honestly i never saw such Meta Tags formats. In my opinion having 2 Title tags and wrong reversed description tag is not correct and the needs to be removed, and other tags need to be changed,too But they said that it probably doesn't make a difference because they don't think it affects search engine results and won't remove it just based on opinion. Because weird thing is Search Engines are apparently able to index them. So should i persist on correcting them or just hope for the best and ignore it?!?!?! Thanks!
