Is there a way to identify the phrases and pages involved in your URLS receiving search visits?
-
Our client seems to get 20 - 30 visits a month to pages which people arrived on via a search, without visiting home page and navigating there.
Is there a way we can identify both the phrases the person used to arrive at the page, and the page itself? The graph is tantalizing, but without deeper insight into what the phrases and pages were, we can't focus on the phrases in question. And we'd like to do this, because the phrase may represent potential long tail phrases we could use.
Thanks!
Eric.

Hi Eric,
Yes, there is definitely a way to determine what pages your visitors are landing on and what search term they used to find it. I'm going to assume you are using the new version of Google Analytics.
- Login to your respective Account and Profile
- Go to Traffic Sources > Sources > Search > Organic
- This view will display phrases from search engines
- Under the graph there should be an option that states "Secondary Dimensions" 5) Click that then search for "Landing Page"
A new column should show up and give you the answer to your question.
I hope that helps!

Organic search
To get the best organic search results and rankings; should I use as many keywords from analyasis tools. Load all into the keywords tag section of my home page. Or, run Google keyword analysis for ytd 2013 and select only the keywords that had any activity. I understand that for PPC I need to be more selective.

Any way to track rank of a URL for keyword BEFORE setting up in Rank Tracker?
Hello all I realize this data is probably impossible to get but thought I would take a chance and ask. Anyone know of a way to see ranking for a URL for a keyword before being setup in Rank Tracker? Would love to see how a URL moved up and down over time prior to tracking. I know its a long shot but if anyone knows its the Moz community! Have a great day people.

So, in cases like this, I should create one landing page for each keyword to be sure that I'll use it enough and be better ranked? Thanks in advance. Best regards.0 -
Long URL in Daily Reports: Adding Dates instead of keywords
Hello, One of my clients posts a daily review of the finance market. it's been a discussion in our SEO team, whether to add the title to the URL or to write the date of the daily review in the URL instead. Adding keywords instead of dates: advantage: Adding keywords to the URL helping getting ranked for those keywords.

disadvantage: the URL comes out too long. what do you suggest in this case? keeping the keywords in the URL or adding dates instead and lose one of the important factors which affects getting ranked for the specific keywords.0 -
Accuracy of search volume for keyword planner v old keyword tool?
Hi there, I'm (logged into Google Adwords) and researching search volume for keywords but I'm seeing weird results. I know that the term "outage notification" had between 1000 and 5000 monthly global searches when I last looked (I know this because I add a search volume tag to the keywords I track ranking of via Moz). Yet, now when I check global search volume via keyword planner I'm seeing only 70 global searches per month (AND low competition which I know is not true). Is this perhaps because only the exact match is reported or is something else going on? Very frustrated as I have now lost faith in the keyword research process via Google keyword planner....not sure where to go from here!! Thanks very much

What is the time frame for the search volume on a Keyword?
Let's say I search for AP automation and the search volume comes back as 210, where did that number come from? Is this how many searches by day, by week, year to date, etc.?

Is there a good reliable tool for getting search volume for local keywords. The adwords keyword tool is nice but I am wanting to know which cities get which portion of the local traffic they present.
