One page for each keyword?
-
Hi guys
Im little lost here and someone may help me.
I want to top rank for these 3 keywords bellow:
medical practice solution
medical practice software
medical practice systemFor instance, if I put all of them on the main page title it will become weird. If I try to use all of them sometimes inside the page content it also be weird.
So, in cases like this, I should create one landing page for each keyword to be sure that I'll use it enough and be better ranked?
Thanks in advance. Best regards.

This is a huge topic.
If I was going to attack this... I would consider that you are talking about one variety of "PMS" or a "practice mangement software". These are available for physicians, dentists, attorneys, accountants and many other types of professionals. There are also management systems for blue collar industries.
For this project my primary keyword would be "Medical practice management software" and then "system" or "solution" can be used as an add-on.
A content attack on this could begin with an in-depth article of a few thousand words with photos, illustrations and art that depict screenshots, document samples, flow charts, data entry devices, portable data entry stations, etc. Think about some of the awesome posts that you see on the moz.com blog or a big wikipedia article.
The typical PMS has many different abilities that are often sold as modules. Their functions include appointment scheduling, insurance submission, billing, patient record management and many other facets. Each of these many functions could be another page optimized for longer tail keywords that each have very monetizable search volume such as "medical billing software" and "patient record management system".
Data entry devices and mobile data entry units can be several more content pages, each with substantive text, photos, screenshots and more. Then there are decisions about having the software on a server in your office or a web-based solution. Each has its advantages and disadvantages in terms of how you pay for it, updates, security and the types of equipment that is needed for your office - plus the level of on-site expertise that will be needed.
Most people are trying to attack this, what might be a billion dollar industry, by tossing pages at it. I would attack this niche with an entire website full of this stuff along with comparison charts of competing products and vendors. The company who is willing to invest a thousand person hours into a website like this... and then dedicates a good person to spend 1/2 of her/his time on keeping it updated could haul in buckets of dough.... and when they are finished with the physican's part they move right into the dental PMS market using the same template.

Agree with this, Those are all variations that you would likely consider your "primary" keyword target. Although making separate pages with unique content will probably help you out short term, it is a near sighted strategy. A) Google is getting smarter and wants to display results for synonymous terms or for different search queries that have the same intent. B) Three pages means watered down link equity and page value.
I would however do some keyword research to pick which of the above has the most search volume and make that keyword the primary target of the page. Then, interchange the synonymous terms where it makes sense like AutoBoof said!

AutoBoof is absolutely correct in this situation.
It is very dangerous from an SEO perspective to attempt to craft content for individual phrases that are so interchangeable, especially in the past couple years. While other sites may sometimes still get away with it, I get new clients routinely these days where they went that route and got penalized manually for on-site over-optimization.
-
I would not recommend creating multiple pages for each, that would cause duplicate content issues. I would try to use all three interchangeably on one landing page so the one page ranks for all three.
You only want separate pages if the keywords are different enough to warrant new and different content. These are too similar for this and would cause a usability issue if you wrote unique content for each one.

Targeted keywords for landing pages but keyword has a lot of synonyms, how is the best way to approach this?
I'm trying to target one page for one broad 2 word keyword, however, because our niche revolves around this keyword and it's synonyms, the keyword is used on every other page, thus creating the issue of non-targeted pages taking the rank instead of targeted page. I've thought of using synonyms on each page, so that no one page uses the same keyword, but felt this could be seen as spammy or could just hurt overall relevancy towards the main keyword, thus a loss of rank. I understand page authority also plays a part, but also seems that every page other than the page I want get's targeted.

Changing Targeted Keywords on Landing Page
So we have a landing page that is ranking for a few of our targeted keywords but we are thinking about splitting the page into two and moving some of the content onto its own page. Our page at the moment has allot of content for keyword A and a little bit for keyword B, we are ranking for quite a few search terms around keyword A and a couple (but allot less) around keyword B, so we want to create a new page with content for keyword B ...hopefully that makes sense... So my question is are there any best practices around this sort of thing? We obviously dont want to negatively affect the rankings we are already gaining for keyword A and I'm worried that moving content around will do that. Thanks!

Focus Keyword
Hi, I have 2 doubts regarding keywords SEO optimization. 1. I would like to optimize the keyword "liquidation channel". The thing is, in my copy/page title/URL/etc it doesn't make a lot of sense to use this exact keyword, but rather "liquidation channels", in plural. Will I rank higher for liquidation channel anyway? And if so, to which extent? (e.g. about 70%...?) 2. I would like to optimize the homepage for the word "liquidation", but found out that some combinations using this keyword (like "liquidation sales" or "liquidation auctions") would have higher traffic and might work better for some pages. I understand I would still be ranking higher for the keyword liquidation, but to which extent? If it's 100% because the keyword is always included, does it makes sense to use 1-word keywords or should we always focus on multiple word keywords? Would the same apply for 2-words keywords vs 3-words keywords, like "wholesale liquidation" SEO rankings being applied when optimizing "wholesale liquidation sales"? Thank you,

Targeting newly identified keywords with Landing Pages
Hi everyone, looking for a bit of advice... A number of my client's websites have been ranking well for a group of keywords for some time and now through further keyword research I wish to broaden out the number of keywords the site targets using landing pages eg, a printer company ranks well for 'flyer printing' but also wants to rank for 'nightclub flyers'. My questions are:
Keyword Research | | DiamondDave
1. How many monthly searches for a specific keyword would warrant a dedicated landing page?
2. Any tips / advice on using landing pages for the purpose of broadening out the no. of targeted keywords?
3. What would be the 'key' features of such a landing page ie, relevant image, text content, CTA. Thanks in advance 🙂0 -
The same keyword on multiple pages, but not all (combined with other relevant keywords) for products.
Hi Guys, I want to get an opinion/advice on this. My client has a site that have all their products (I am working on expanding the product descriptions, benefits and how they differ from each other) listed and I just want to know if I can use the term 'gear oil' for example on multiple pages as one of the keywords. The product range (among others like transmission fluid and anti-freeze) is gear oil (with the different types of gear oils available described) and I can't really change what the product is. I do have different variations (such as gear lubricant, automotive gear lubricant, car gear oil etc.) but will it do damage if I use the same keyword (like gear oil) on multiple pages (along with another relevant keyword that does not involve the words gear oil)? Any help on this will be greatly appreciated!

Number of keywords to optimise per web page?
Hi Guys, I am new to SEOmoz and just finding my way around the site. I currently have two websites up both in wordpress and both using SEO Yoast for keyword / page analysis. SEO Yoast software basically only allows you to have 1 page / blog post optimised for 1 keyphrase. If you try to put the same keyphrase in 2 + times for different pages or posts then Yoast flags it up as not good for SEO purposes. Is this correct? Also how do massive websites go on when previously they would have optimised many web pages / blogs for the same keywords?

Google keyword tool
Hey anyone noticed Google's keyword tool seems to be returning weird data for search volume compared to just a few days ago? "iron fist clothing" exact match was returning around 1,000 local monthly searches and a monthly trend of approximately the same over the past year. As of yesterday it has zero searches for exact match and even the monthly trends have all been set to zero for every month going back a year Now I suppose this could happen in theory but the fact that the trend is showing up as zero for each month over the last year makes me think this could be a bug. I've also noticed this for one of my keywords on my SEO site, again suddenly gone to zero searches and monthly trends going back a year. However a quick check on webmaster tools shows the impressions going back a few months at the average of 1,300 that the old trend suggested it should be. Anyone else noticed this?
