Haver ever seen opensiteexplorer be way off?

What is the deal with this:
http://www.opensiteexplorer.org/links?site=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.selfstoragestartup.com
Based on the links it is showing, there is no way in hell that it should have a domain authority that high. What am i missing here? There is practically nothing on this site, and hardly any backlinks, yet OSE thinks it has a huge PA and DA!?
-
Turns out i was wrong. Take a look at this.
Some sort of russian spam has created 1000s of backlinks for this site to the non-www pages. The weirdest part is when you visit those pages, they are forums, full of literally thousands of seo type spam posts full of links. And it gets even weirder. If you google translate those pages, the links to this site are using anchor text that is seemingly irrelevent. Like "buy barbie dolls online" or "best chicken noodle soup". WTF?!
Why would anyone linkbuild like that? is there actually a benefit to having obscure anchor text pointing at your root domain?
This is beyond bizarre.

It's probably best to send an email to help@seomoz.org and ask the help desk specifically about this. They all know more about how it works than we do here in Q&A, and they can also reprimand Roger if he made any mistakes in this latest crawl.
-
seems something may have gone wrong, its showing 2200 root linking domains in the toolbar which is probably where the high da comes from.

What's the best way to eliminate "429 : Received HTTP status 429" errors?
My company website is built on WordPress. It receives very few crawl errors, but it do regularly receive a few (typically 1-2 per crawl) "429 : Received HTTP status 429" errors through Moz. Based on my research, my understand is that my server is essentially telling Moz to cool it with the requests. That means it could be doing the same for search engines' bots and even visitors, right? This creates two questions for me, which I would greatly appreciate your help with: Are "429 : Received HTTP status 429" errors harmful for my SEO? I imagine the answer is "yes" because Moz flags them as high priority issues in my crawl report. What can I do to eliminate "429 : Received HTTP status 429" errors? Any insight you can offer is greatly appreciated! Thanks,

Best Way to Seemlessly Use Moz and Google Analytics
Hi All, I have Moz Pro and I am beginning to explore Moz Analytics. I currently use Google Analytics for pretty much everything and I am almost at expert level at using the GA interface so I'm ready to learn a new tool and have a second source of data! My question is: what's the best way to get the most of Moz Analytics and GA congruently? Off hand I know that Moz's keyword, rank, and link data, including competitive insights, is more comprehensive than GA. But how else can I use Moz and get the most out of the Moz Analytics? Looking to really dive in and discuss how we can make use of both! Thanks - Vee

Why does mozbar show pagerank sometimes and not opensiteexplorer?
Hello Internet People! I have been using Opensiteexplorer and Mozbar side by side for 2 months now, running comparisons while link building. I have noticed a small problem, in that sometimes, Mozbar will display page rank information while Opensiteexplorer does not. Eventually Opensiteexplorer updated after several days or weeks, showing the same values as Mozbar. Can someone help me understand why this is happening and if it is a problem to trust the tool over the website? Thanks!

Best way to rank an E-commerce site fast? [GOOGLE]
Does anyone have experience in ranking E-commerce sites? I'm trying to rank 1000+ subcategorys and 300+ products. All less than 1k Exacts some are just 20ish some go up to 1k. I've used Traffic Travis all keywords are ranked as [Easy] along with the tools here. My competition have 0 backlinks to there sites. Some sites have PR1-4 (only 2-3 per SERP rest are 0 so should be quite easy. However I'm up against Amazon and Google shopping for the products. Anyways what would you guys recommend me do?

Is there any way to manually initiate a crawl through SEOMoz?
... or do you actually have to wait a week for the next scheduled crawl date on a particular campaign? We've just made a ton of changes to our site, and it would be helpful to know if they will generate any warnings or errors sooner rather than later. Thanks!

Will Open Site Explorer ever show number of links over time?
OSE is an amazing tool, but do you guys at SEOmoz have any plans to develop it so we can track numbers of links over time. I need to demonstrate to clients how the link building is going, and this would be a great quick report to see how many links you found on a given day, month, year, etc. A bit like magesticSEO backlink history graph, but better 🙂
