Can anyone recommend a good UK service provider for Dedicated Servers?

Hi, we have just had a shocking experience moving from shared hosting to a dedicated server with a very large service provider. Our website slowed down, the server has been down more times than up so we have moved back to shared hosting until we can find a supplier that can deliver. nightmare!! If anyone can recommend a good company it would be appreciated.

Nothing but good things to say. It’s nice to know who you’re working with, when you can ask for a tech by first name, or giving an client number. I would call Chad, Rackspace is awesome, but really expensive. -
I've been using GoGrid for 2 years and very happy with the reliability and service. In my opinion they are chipper then Amazon when talking about the full bundle(Load balancers, CDN etc..). They usually have a 100$ free trial so you can try them for a full month

It depends alot on your needs and budget:
Rackspace and Amazon are good when it comes to reliability, but dedicated is VERY expensive. If you are okay with the cloud they both offer this and can be quite reasonable.
I like Rackspace as you have a little more wiggle room and it is a little cheaper than Amazon.

Hello Moz Friends I just wanted to make sure I'm doing things correctly. On google my business your given the option to list your service area. I serve the entire state of Colorado with my internet marketing services. So I listed Colorado as my service area. but Moz Friends, is this the wrong idea? Can you have an SSL cert but still have http?
I was under the impression that if you got an SSL cert for your site that the site would change to https. I ran this site: http://thekinigroup.com/ through an SSL checker and it said it had one...but it's http. 1. Why didn't it change to https? Is there an extra step there that needs to be done? 2. Is there a reason someone would choose to get an SSL cert, but not have https? Thanks, Ruben

Phone number in Meta Description - Is it a good idea?
Is it a best practice to place your company's phone number in the meta description for a page? Are there any rules as to what is acceptable for meta tags? One of our competitors recently started doing this but for some reason I think it might be against Google's guidelines. They (competitor) is also engaging in web spam, plagiarizing our content, and other black hat techniques so I'm leery of anything they do.

UK rankings disappeared after US website launch
Hi all, I had a client that recently released a US version of their UK website and put it live without informing me first! Once I saw it (about 3/4 days later) I immediately asked them to include the rel=alternate tag onto both websites. However, in the meantime our UK rankings have all gone and it seems as if Google has just kicked the UK website. How long will it take for our rankings to return to normal? HTTP 500 Internal Server Error, Need help
Hi, For a few days know google crawlers have been getting 500 errors from our dedicated server whenever they try to crawl the site. Using the "Fetch as Google" tool under health in webmaster tools, I get "Unreachable page" every time I fetch the homepage. What hosting companies do you use & do you use dedicated servers
I am hoping the community of semoz will help me in deciding what hosting company i should use as there are hundreds of them. I have asked previously about dedicated servers but was shocked to have only received one responce. Recently i have been having nothing but problems with my hosting company so now i am trying to find a UK hosting company that can offer a dedicated server. I would be grateful if people could let me know what companies they use for their sites and if they use managed hosting companies.

How can I create an accurate backlink profile?
With Google's emphasis on punishing over-optimization I would like to make sure I keep a close eye on my backlink profile. Link Detective is a great tool, however, for sites which I know have thousands of backlinks in WMT and MajesticSEO, OSE only finds a handful--maybe 10%. How can I trust the information I get from OSE to provide me with actionable data when the raw numbers of backlinks are so far off when compared to the other databases.
