Search volume on google.no vs google.com for keyword
-
Anyone know if there is a way to find out search volume for a keyword on google.com vd for instance in our case google.no ?
The reason i am asking is that i am ranking 17 on google.com vs 1 on google.no . how do i go about to increase .com ranking ?
-
Yep, 5k more - if it is important to you to be sure, you could run some ads and look at the number of impressions.
-
Yes i ve taken a look at that but i am not sure what to read out of the numbers Global for my keyword (barneklær) is 27k and local is 22k . Does that mean that there are more searches on .com then on .no ?
-
The adwords tool lets you see global and local searches for the territories you specify - does that answer your question?
About ranking on .com vs .no ....well, there's a bunch of things to consider there. A basic step is geotargeting - check out http://www.seomoz.org/q/google-webmaster-tools-international-seo-geo-targeting-site-with-worldwide-rankings you can set in GWT which countries your site is aimed at.

Backlinks vs External Links vs Referral Links vs Outbound links
Hello all, I was just wondering if you could explain the difference between all the links above? I'm confused as they all seem to be the same or similar and I would just like to clearly know what distinguishes them from eachother. Thanks for your help, Jayne

Internal Linking and Related Search
Hi there, Is it a bad idea to use Google related terms when creating internal links? For instance, if I search for 'printing companies chicago', there are at least 3 terms related to our organization and what we provide that appear at the bottom of the search results. Searches related to printing companies chicago reliable printing companies chicago

chicago business card printing
chicago printers Just curious if anyone uses this type of research to build out pages? And create internal links? Personally, I am seeing people search for services we offer in different ways - that alone makes me think it should be a major part of our internal linking. Looking forward to your feedback!0 -
How can I find page 1 google keyword rankings for a certain page?
Not sure if someone has a tool for this yet or not... Say I have a page like this: http://www.merchantcircle.com/business/Spokane.Painting.Pros.509-210-2799 and I would like to find out what keywords this page ranks for on google. Is there any tool that I can paste in that link and it would give me keywords that it ranks well for? Other than the SEO moz rank checker. It's not like I want to run a campaign just for links like that but I might want to build some links to citations like that so I can move those citations up in the rankings.

Maintaining or improving keyword ranking
I started a second website recently and it is doing very well. I am on the first page for a competitive keyword - spot 5 according to Moz. It is actually a category page that is ranking so well which is a surprise to me as I have read many times that I should deindex category pages due to duplicate content! My questions: 1. How do I get backlinks to a CATEGORY page?! I have been able to get backlinks to certain posts because my website is a deal blog and other deal blogs give me credit for popular deals by linking to my post. 2. How can I maintain this high ranking? Of course I want in spot 3 but this website isn't even 2 months old so I know I should be patient. At this point, I just want to stay on the first page. What is the best way to do that? I am about to fill out the SEO stuff for the category page which I haven't done yet. Thanks!

How does Google treat multiple backlinks on the same page?
Hello mozCrew Just a quick yay or nay. We have an embeddable code on our site for customers who want to post our link on their website listed here: http://www.accupos.com/etc/embed-code-restaurants.php But in our link, there are actually 2 separate links, one branding link that says the name of our company, AccuPOS, and another link which targets a specific target keyword "Restaurant POS Software". My question is, does Google only give credit for the branding link, since it is listed FIRST? Or will we get double credit? Is this a good or bad practice, and what would you recommend? Thank you! Link building / baiting in the Google zoo
I work for a consultancy, and in the past most of our links have been acquired by giving away privacy statements etc for websites, including a link back in the body of the document, and making it a licensing requirement that the link be kept. We're launchinga new site. We want this one to be whiter-than-white, and would appreciate some advice on the following options. Option 1: no links Remove the links from the documents, and don't require links for the use of the documents. Leave a non-linking credit in the documents. Perhaps ask nicely for links from other pages. Option 2: links on other pages Remove the links from the documents, but make it a licensing requirement that users will link to our site from another page on their site. I appreciate that most won't, but some will. Option 3: retain the links Keep the links in the document, using domain name (with and without http and www) and business name anchor text. Option 4: script the links Use scripts to generate randomized links in the documents, so that no two are the same, but with relevant linking text for the most part. We're risk-adverse with the new site, and it will pick up some links "naturally". We're therefore tending toward option 1, on the basis that it may well generate as many links as option 2. Which of these options would you choose? Are there any other options we should be considering?

Have I suffered a keyword specific penalty?
Hi all, We've been working on improving our ranking for a specific keyword for the past couple of months. Progress has been steady if not spectacular (it's a very competitive keyword). Last week we obtained (not bought!) a site wide link from a partner (nothing fishy, they are business partners in the same industry) as well as a link each from a relevant resource site and a directory with good PA/DA. The anchor text used on the new links is keyword rich. This week our rankings have fallen dramatically from page 2 to page 39 for our targeted page although other pages on our site still rank well for this keyword. The targeted page is still indexed by Google. Could Google just be reassessing our ranking for this page and it will return to its previous rank or is it likely it has received a keyword specific penalty? Thanks in advance.
