Search engines have been blocked by robots.txt., how do I find and fix it?
-
My client site royaloakshomesfl.com is coming up in my dashboard as having Search engines have been blocked by robots.txt, only I have no idea where to find it and fix the problem. Please help! I do have access to webmaster tools and this site is a WP site, if that helps.
-
Here's the screen in Wordpress to check to see if you've blocked search engines through WP.
-
Ah, I see. Thanks!!
-
nothing comes back when I run this
site:www.royaloakshomesfl.com
So looks like its not indexed
-
When I search their brand name, they pop up in Google, so they must be indexed somehow, no?
-
I would do as Lavellester suggest, then i would then i would re-submit as i can see you are not in either index.
-
You can see it here:
http://royaloakshomesfl.com/robots.txt
So its in the webroot of your hosting. You can change it via FTP to and change it to the following to grant full access until you have figured out robot access rights. I think you need at least one Disallow: line without the / slash in your existing configuration to make it work.
User-agent: * Disallow:

Soft 404 in Search Console
Search console is showing quite a lot of soft 404 pages on my site, but when I click on the links, the pages are all there. Is there a reason for this? It's a pretty big site - I'm getting 141 soft 404s from about 20,000 pages

How do you fix soft 404 errors?
I'm getting soft 404 errors for a gallery on my site: http://chrle.us/MBKs yet when I visit the url: http://www.chrisboar.com/html/galleries/114/portfolio/weddings-1/0 the image/url is there. Not sure how to fix this. note we do redirect the site to the flash site and only use those URLs for SEO purposes. Maybe that is what is causing it. thanks

Can Search engines crawl this page
Hi guys, To put a long story short we have had to make a copy of our site and put it on another domain so in essence there are 2 copies of our site on the web. What we have done is put a username and password on the homepage - http://www.ughhwiki.co.uk/ now i just want to be 100% sure that the search engines cannot crawl this?
