Help with duplicate title tags?
-
I was looking in Google webmaster tools and it says I have 95 duplicate title tags for my site Noah's Dad.
When I look through the list it appears the pages with duplicate title tags are some of my category pages, archive pages, and some author pages...
Not sure if you guys can use some of the tools to see what is actually showing up duplicate or not, and if you need more info just let me know.
But I wanted to see if this is something I should be concerned with? Should WMT also say 0 in duplicate content?
It seems like when I started my blog I was told no to be conceded with this sort of stuff in gwmt. Anyways...I just wanted to see what you guys think. (By the way, is there any way to tell what this duplicate content is having (or has had) on my SERP results?
Thanks.

Thanks for the reply, but my site is a blog. I'm thought wordpress (or a plugin) was supposed to create the content in a way where those pages I mentioned wouldn't have duplicate content.
Plus these are entire categories that are showing duplicate....so basically I'm trying to figure out if the "duplicate content" that's showing is actually hurting me serp or not...and if I need to try to fix it.

Thanks!

Is it possible to for you to add canonical tags on the archived / pages to point to the most relevant page?
I used the SEOMoz.org http://pro.seomoz.org/campaigns Campaign tool which reported any duplicate content / tags and fixed them, for our company's official website.
Our secondary site which is an Oscommerce installation threw a bunch of duplicate content errors but somehow the Campaign crawler was crawling URL's that weren't really URL's
ie a category page is outputted as /as568-nitrile-c-33_39_43.html but the crawler was hitting /c_33_39_43.html which is a valid url but it was forgoing the URL output function we're using.

Help needed
I am quite new to Moz and SEO in general. Our company has a website at https://printvent.co.uk We are using woocommerce / wordpress for an ecommerce store selling custom printed products,. Banners, Posters, stickers etc. We have configured Yoast SEo and Moz is now reporting no errors on the site. However Google has not indexed any pages from the site after around 3-4 weeks. I have submitted through Google search console. It is reporting over 900 pages blocked by robots.txt. There is a folder called Printvent designer that we are blocking via a disallow in robots.txt. I thought this was necessary as this creates a URL for every product for every option that the customer uses to design their own product. These all point to the page printvent designer. (example XXL Blue sweatshirt has its own designer page - https://printvent.co.uk/printvent-designer/453 My question really is what are we doing wrong ? All meta titles and descriptions are in place, no errors from Moz, Moz reports most product pages as 90% + Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Crawl diagnostics incorrectly reporting duplicate page titles
Hi guys, I have a question in regards to the duplicate page titles being reported in my crawl diagnostics. It appears that the URL parameter "?ctm" is causing the crawler to think that duplicate pages exist. In GWT, we've specified to use the representative URL when that parameter is used. It appears to be working, since when I search site:http://www.causes.com/about?ctm=home, I am served a single search result for www.causes.com/about. That begs the question, why is the SEOMoz crawler saying there is duplicate page titles when Google isn't (doesn't appear under the HTML improvements for duplicate page titles)? A canonical URL is not used for this page so I'm assuming that may be one reason why. The only other thing I can think of is that Google's crawler is simply "smarter" than the Moz crawler (no offense, you guys put out an awesome product!). Any help is greatly appreciated and I'm looking forward to being an active participant in the Q&A community! Cheers, Brad

Site Explorer shows links as followable but they have nofollow tags
Hello, I am looking at site explorer and sites linking to my site moneyfact.co.uk. I've got thousands of links showing as 'followable' but when i check them they have rel="nofollow" tags. e.g: http://www.dianomioffers.co.uk/partner/moneyfacts.co.uk/brochures.epl?partner=93&partner_id=93&partner_variant_id=33 Why would they show as followable when the links are nofollowed? Thanks Steve

Duplicate page content on / and index.php
Hi I am new to SEOmoz and in the crawl diagnostics for one of my clients it came back duplicate content on the homepage www.myclient.co.uk and on the www.myclient.co.uk/index.php which is obviously the same page. I understand that the key is to do a 301 redirect from the index to /, however how will I know that this will not just create an ever ending loop on the server? From your experience how is the best way to tackle this crawl error? Also is there a specific question that I need to ask the server?

Is there a way to specify what SEOmoz classes as duplicate content?
Hi all, Currently working through the laundry list of errors and warning on our company's 24 websites. Due to the ridiculous amount of on page links and the sheer volume of products on our sites, much of the descriptive text is similar, following a strict pattern to best mention our USPs and the like. Of course we use a CMS, which means that all the pages look the same and draw this information from the style sheet. Anyways, to the problem at hand. I have been tasked with reducing the "error" count on the SEOmoz admin panel, the problem being SEOmoz is reporting duplicate page content, when they are different, but similar products, for example, 35, 45 and 55 litre refrigeration units. Is there a way in which I can specify what classes as duplicate content, or make the duplicate content report more restrictive, so that everything HAS to be the same for this error to show. Any help is much appreciated, thanks in advance.

Title tag discrepancy - is this a Yoast or SEOMoz thing?
Just took on a WP site using Yoast - need help understanding the title tag. SEOMoz reports that the HP title tag is 159 characters, but there are only 60 characters entered in the plug-in field and GWT reports no "too long" title tags. Is this a Yoast thing? SEOmoz does not recognise < in title yet recommends it!!!!
The "<" is not recognised by SEOmoz campaign crawl bot. Bot only keeps the text before < and deletes everything else from the title! Fix needed.
