Backlinks on Facebook
-
Has anyone seen the benefits of adding backlinks back to their main site on their facebook page?
Also, what about uploading a bunch of pictures of your products onto facebook, and on each picture putting the link directly to that specific product?
Anyone know if there is any benefit in doing this?
Thanks...

Hi,
You've got some good answers there with regard to the Facebook links. If you're looking to post images, I'd use pinterest.com. Use the Google Chrome plugin to pin the images directly from your site and you get a do-follow link back. The value of the link is up for debate due the sheer size of the site but I've seen decent traffic levels coming from Pinterest recently.
Make sure you write a decent description for each image you pin, engage with other users and I'm sure you'll see results.

1. Yes links from Facebook are "No-follow" but that they don't have ANY value is up for discussion.
Here is a great article on Sphinn where some very good SEO post some comments on their thoughts on the value of nofollow links. I would suggest you read though them and draw your own conclusions. ttp://sphinn.com/story/161185
2. "So don't spend your time on it and try to find some relevant websites for your industry and place your links there, and you'll see the result."
I completely agree. If it's strong backlinks that you are after focus on industry relevant sites for better results.

3. There is plenty of SEO value in Social Media. Here is a great article on The SEO value in Facebook & Twitter. Placing random backlinks on Facebook will not get you the results you need.

Hi there,
Actually links from Facebook don't carry any value for Search Engine Optimization! Because all of them closed with "No-follow" tag and images as well! So don't spend your time on it and try to find some relevant websites for your industry and place your links there, and you'll see the result.
However strong Facebook page for your company may bring you some extra inquiries and make a good impact for your brand !
Cheers,
Russel

DA not increased as backlinks generated...
Hi,
Link Building | | p4pakao
I would like to discuss my issue as my site's some backlinks are generated but DA is still there. Can anyone make me understand the reason?0 -
How does PageRank pass through a backlink on a subdomain vs. subdirectory?
Scenario 1: I earn a link on exampleblog.root.com/example-page/. The DA is 90, but it's a brand new page so PA is 0. Subdomain is also new, zero backlinks. Scenario 2: I earn a link on root.com/example-page/. The DA is 90, PA is still new so 0 for now. My assumption is that PR will flow from the homepage through the subdirectory then ultimately to my domain. If the subdomain doesn't inherit any of the root-level metrics, then should I even be worried about the DA in scenario 1? What are the seo implications between the 2 scenarios?

Do backlinks which contain parameters pass value
For some of our partners, we use our own tracking string in the url i.e. www.mysite.com/landingpage.html?partner=123456 . This has caused backlinks to be created to our site containing the partner string. I was wondering if these links would pass value to www.mysite.com/landingpage.html and the tracking parameters would be ignored or would Google treat www.mysite.com/landingpage.html?partner=123456 as its own page. If it did treat it as a seperate page, could you reclaim some of it using the canoncial tag?

Question on backlinks indexing
Hello, my site is fairly new and I started building a lot of backlinks to it by posting my 5 from my website to several different web 2.0 and then posting all those 5 articles again to different article submissions + getting social bookmarks to my main site as backlinks. My question is: Should I throw all those backlinks in an indexer to get them all indexed at once / ping them all OR do I let google crawler naturally find them and index them itself sort of like 'dripping' as it will find it one by one; stack by stack? I would also like to know why Yahoo! hasn't indexed my site yet 😞

Facebook Mentions...are they worth the effort to get as back links?
I'm currently focusing on link building for one of the websites I work on. In reviewing past customers, I see quite a few that do not have a blog, but do have social media pages like Facebook, for their business. I'm wondering if it's worth the effort to get them to "mention" the website with a link and brief comment from their Facebook page. Thanks for any/all input.
