In House Editorial Reviews

We were looking to write reviews in house for some of our top products. We feel as though we know the products very well, and are willing to give accurate, honest reviews to our customers to help them choose the best products for them. We would also be very happy if any SEO benefits came from this. My question is, does anyone have experience doing this and if so, is there a magic number to write that would make Google take notice to these changes? Thanks in advance for any help!

Sorry I guess I misunderstood you! This sounds like a good technique and the IP address variety will not be a problem. Doing just one of these will be helpful for you as long as it is original content and you use the keyword properly. There is really no definite number of these that it will take to see a significant result but having any new original content will help your google rankings. Google likes to see original fresh content so as long as it's original, these will be helpful!

Thanks for the insight Tyler, but we have explored a lot of options for customer reviews and plan on using this as one technique, not our only source of reviews. Also, we are not going to take any unethical actions. We plan on stating clearly that it is an editorial review and give our honest opinion of products. Would a lack of variety in IP address really be a concern if we take an honest approach, and provide unique content detailing why the products are good or bad? My question is, how will this help with our SEO and is their an estimate of reviews it would take to see any results? Thanks again for your help!

Your best practice for in house reviews, although I cannot say it is the most ethical, would be to create customer accounts and write reviews on the products. Make sure to spread these out over time with different usernames. As far as google goes, if they're all coming from the same IP address, they might not be so helpful but using the keywords anywhere on your page in text is always good!
When customers see these good reviews they will feel better about making a purchase and that helps conversions(which is the reason you're doing SEO in the first place).
Another way to do in house reviews is to do them on the company blog. This is a more white-hat approach and you can link to other pages on your site where the products are.
The best way to help your page though is to ask your customers to write reviews. Offer them incentives(like a 5% discount on their next purchase when they review the product they bought).
Having real reviews on your site is definitely a great way to give your site a better reputation. Hope that helps!

I know optimisation is now considered 'old hat' but like many old hats not only is it comfortable but it is (in my experience) still functional and working in ranking websites. Yes there are plenty of other drivers, but I still consider optimisation to be important, hence the question Google Reviews Plugin - Does This Impact Negatively On SEO By Diluting Optimisation? From my (limited in many ways) understanding this puts hundreds if not thousands of extra words on a page - so this must surely be reducing the amount of optimisation? Using Schema markup for Feefo reviews
I am a little confused about whether or not it is ok to use Schema markup with reviews collected through Feefo. We use Feefo to collect reviews from our customers and these get displayed on our website. We get service ratings as well as product ratings through Feefo. My question is: Is it ok to use Schema markup for these? I would have thought they would fall under 3rd party reviews, but this article from the Feefo website seems to suggest that it would be ok to use markup in the way they recommend. Can anyone confirm how Google handles review markup like this? Thanks in advance!

Please review page for on page SEO
I'm working on an adult dating site review blog and am hoping to build links to the category pages. It's a wordpress blog so the posts are categorised by topics. However can you tell me if there is enough content on the page for google to identify what the page is about? The problem is that the content of each category pages is pulled from the posts. What I think is needed is some static text on the page 2-300 words that use the keyword. Hi . I had a report of 302 temporary redirects when SEO moz did a simulated site crawl.
This is an example of the address of one of the many 302 temporary redirect errors which I think consume link juice or have some type of negative effect on SEO.

Since it is a live link I cannot seem to redirect it with a 301 redirect in the redirect manager. Is there anything I can do to handle these temporary redirects. They only are appearing now since I reactivated my reviews and I am concerned about the SEO effect that this may soon have.

Customer Review Capture / Google Approved Review Sites
We are interested in showing customer reviews on our website (in UK for seo purposes- UGC) and are initially reluctant to use a 'What customer say' or Testimonial page as we think customers may think we have just made these reviews up? I wanted to ask what methods you folks use to capture reviews? If you use 3rd party providers do you have any recommendations?
