Rich Snippets Publisher errors
-
Hi all.
Happen to do a bit of testing with some of our microformat and microdata markup when I noticed our linked Google+ Publisher markup has stopped working.
It definitely was working, and nothings changed, but now we are flagging errors, and I've noticed some of our competitors also have the same problem.
publisher
linked Google+ page = https://plus.google.com/103929635387487847550
Error: This page does not include verified publisher markup. Learn more.If I actually add a duplicate rel="publisher" then I get the following results:
Extracted Author/Publisher for this page
publisherlinked Google+ page = https://plus.google.com/103929635387487847550
Error: This page does not include verified publisher markup. Learn more. publisherlinked Google+ page = https://plus.google.com/103929635387487847550/The second line doesn't seem to flag an error?
I know this is still all pretty new, so is anyone else having problems or odd results, or is Google having some problems?
All our other rich snippets such as reviews etc are working fine, just seems to be the publisher bit.
cheers
Steve

I'm trying to go the publisher route, ie business pages not author.
Interesting, sit and do nothing, now it reports as verified! All very odd...

I think you need to do rel="author" not rel="publisher". You are trying to get your Google+ profile connected to your blog right? So your pic appears in search results? Pretty sure your name must link to an about page with rel="author" and that the about page must link to your Google+ profile.

Keyword Rich Domain
We purchased a keyword rich domain name to use with an existing website. What is the best way to use this domain? Below are some thoughts, I welcome any input. Use this domain as an add-on to the main domain, but only have it load one page off the main domain? Would that cause duplicate content issues? Create a single static page of content for the domain (separate from main domain) Redirect domain to page on master domain, would we loose any benefits of the keyword rich domain? Thank you!

Adding video snippet caused drop of star rating snippet in google SERP. Any solution to show both?
We are using on our product pages review schema markup which showed up well in google SERP. Now we added schema video markup as well and google shows in SERP now only the video snippet, but not the review snippet anymore. Any idea whether there may be a solution to show both video and review snippets?

Can 404 Errors Be Affecting Rankings
I have a client that we recently (3 months ago) designed, developed, and launch a new site at a "new" domain. We set up redirects from the old domain to the new domain and kept an eye on Google Webmaster Tools to make sure the redirects were working properly. Everything was going great, we maintained and improved the rankings for the first 2 months or so. In late January, I started noticing a great deal of 404 errors in Webmaster Tools for URLs from the new site. None of these URLs were actually on the current site so I asked my client if he had previously used to domain. It just so happens that he used the domain a while back and none of the URLs were ever redirected or removed from the index. I've been setting up redirects for all of the 404s appearing in Webmaster tools but we took a pretty decent hit in rankings for February. Could those errors (72 in total) been partially if not completely responsible for the hit in rankings? All other factors have been constant so that lead me to believe these errors were the culprits.

Generating 404 Errors but the Pages Exist
Hey I have recently come across an issue with several of a sites urls being seen as a 404 by bots such as Xenu, SEOMoz, Google Web Tools etc. The funny thing is, the pages exist and display fine. This happens on many of the pages which use the Modx CMS, but the index is fine. The wordpress blog in /blog/ all works fine. The only thing I can think of is that I have a conflict in the htaccess, but troubleshooting this is difficult, any tool I have found online seem useless. Have tried to rollback to previous versions but still does not work. Anyone had any experience of similar issues? Many thanks K.

Experiences with event rich snippets?
We've recently (in the past 6 months) implemented rich snippets into one of our websites, which lists events around the USA. We've run our code through Google's testing tools and all looks good. When we search for terms which we compete for, many of our competitors display the event sub-links in the SERPs but we still do not. Does anyone have any experience with rich snippets with regards to whether site reputation or (we're a new website) others factors will impact if/when google will display our rich snippets in search results? Thanks!
