What should I do with these duplicate mass production?

Hi,
I'm reviewing somebodies site and just realized that it's overflown with duplicates. Like these:
<colgroup><col width="3496"></colgroup>
| www.joannalark.com/store/products/24"-Sting.html?setCurrencyId=1 |
| www.joannalark.com/store/products/24"-Sting.html?setCurrencyId=6 |
| www.joannalark.com/store/products/24"-Sting.html?setCurrencyId=7 |It also produces something like this:
|
<colgroup><col width="3496"></colgroup>
| www.joannalark.com/store/pages/pages/pages/pages/pages/pages.php?pageid=8 |
| www.joannalark.com/store/pages/pages/pages/pages/pages/pages/pages.php?pageid=8 |
| www.joannalark.com/store/pages/pages/pages/pages/pages/pages/pages/pages.php?pageid=8 |
| www.joannalark.com/store/pages/pages/pages/pages/pages/pages/pages/pages/pages.php?pageid=8 |
| www.joannalark.com/store/pages/pages/pages/pages/pages/pages/pages/pages/pages/pages.php?pageid=8 ||

Yeps, you might also want to checkout this Google post: http://googlewebmastercentral.blogspot.com/2009/02/specify-your-canonical.html

Hi JJ,
The usage of canonical tag on the document could help you out.
For ex. in the file: 24%22-Sting.html you can insert the canonical tag
You should insert the canonical tag before the .
This way you will exclude the following pages to be indexed:
| www.joannalark.com/store/products/24"-Sting.html?setCurrencyId=6 |
| www.joannalark.com/store/products/24"-Sting.html?setCurrencyId=7 |Also you will transfer the "link juice" from these pages and focus only on one page: 24%22-Sting.html
I hope it helped,
Istvan

Duplicate Blog pages across different domains
Hey Moz Community, I have 3 Duplicate websites which more or less contain the same blog article ( they are copy & paste from the original website ). I am now in the process of changing my duplicate websites and I stumbled upon this problem: if I have to change the content for all the duplicate articles I have across my different domains it would be a very time consuming task and on the other hand I don't want to no index, follow the duplicate articles because I want to use them for SEO purposes. Should I only change the articles that brought significant traffic and no index, follow the rest ? What do you think ? Thanks, Anddrei

Duplicate content affects on overall rankings
Hi guys, I have a website that has 23 pages with duplicate content. These pages serve the same function, which enables customers to upload their images. There is not much content on each one but we require a different page for each of our products, here is an example page: http://www.point101.com/giclee_printing/upload#/upload I don't think it makes sense to use a canonical tag as each page is for a different product and I think its going to be difficult to differentiate each page. I was wondering: 1. If this has a negative effect on the ranking of our homepage and other main product pages or if its an issue we do not need to worry too much about. 2. If anyone has any other ideas as to how we can resolve this issue. Thanks,

Duplicate Content on our own website
Our website sells tickets for events. We also have an news articles section with information about events / artists / venues. From time to time we release a product page and a related news article on a separate page. Some of the content in the news article would be perfect for our product page. Essentially its our product page we want too rank. Would it harm our SEO if we had some of the same content on both of these pages?

Duplicate Content: Snippets from Blog on Website
Our company has a website and a blog, each on a separate domain. On our website's home page, we include snippets from some of our blog posts and links to such posts. The snippets include the same photo, title, and first line or so of text. We have been told and am concerned that search engines will categorize this as duplicate content. Any recommendation as to how we can get around this issue aside from not including the blog posts on our site? I imagine we are not the first company to want to do this. www.angelicolaw.com Thanks,

Duplicate Content Issues with Forum
Hi Everyone, I just signed up last night and received the crawl stats for my site (ShapeFit.com). Since April of 2011, my site has been severely impacted by Google's Panda and Penguin algorithm updates and we have lost about 80% of our traffic during that time. I have been trying to follow the guidelines provided by Google to fix the issues and help recover but nothing seems to be working. The majority of my time has been invested in trying to add content to "thin" pages on the site and filing DMCA notices for copyright infringement issues. Since this work has not produced any noticeable recovery, I decided to focus my attention on removing bad backlinks and this is how I found SEOmoz. My question is about duplicate content. The crawl diagnostics showed 6,000 errors for duplicate page content and the same for duplicate page title. After reviewing the details, it looks like almost every page is from the forum (shapefit.com/forum). What's the best way to resolve these issues? Should I completely block the "forum" folder from being indexed by Google or is there something I can do within the forum software to fix this (I use phpBB)? I really appreciate any feedback that would help fix these issues so the site can hopefully start recovering from Panda/Penguin. Thank you, Kris

Checking Duplicate Content
Hi there, We are migrating to a new website, which we are writing lots of new content for the new website. The new website is hosted on a development site which is password protected and so on so that it cannot be indexed. What i would like to know is, how do i check for duplicate content issues out there on the world wide web with the dev site being password protected? Hope this makes sense. Kind Regards,
