UK Hosting companies any recommendations please
-
Hi i am asking this question again as not had much resonce with the other question. We are urgently looking for a decent hosting company in the UK who offer managed hosting. We are looking for a dedicated server that can handle forty sites or more.
Can anyone please let me know if there are any good hosting companies in the UK for joomla. I have researched a large number but they all receive bad reviews so i thought i would ask on here again and see what other people are using
many thanks

I have looked at Firstserv but there are no prices. 1 and 1 has been recommended to me Keri, but the trouble with 1 & 1 is, a lot of joomla people do not seem to like them although the tech guy does, but when i researched them, they got a lot of negative feedback.
On a cost point of view there dedicated servers are a good price but because i am not technical when it comes to sorting out databases it would cost me more in the long run. I have also looked at 123 reg, Tsohost, go daddy, and united offer less memory etc for much more than i am paying at the moment.
The sites have been put there for the time being so they can be worked on in the near future, none of the sites will be similar, they are just there at the moment, waiting to be worked on.
I am seriously thinking because i cannot find a suitable hosting company to spend a few thousand pounds on having my own server at our office and then employ someone so many hours a week as this seems the better option.

You might ask the Joomla person you hired if they have recommendations, and also if maybe the 40 sites shouldn't all be on the same server? That would really depend on your server configuration and the types of sites, but that's something to consider too.
Some of your sites are near duplicate of each other last time I looked. Maybe as you move servers you can just redirect the duplicate sites to your main site and that can save you some time on setup and reduce your duplicate content.

Hi, never had any problems with Tsohost.
Good luck.

united are pretty good too

Check out Firstserv. You can always reach them 24/7 on the phone. They always seem happy to help.

My website - www.isacleanse.co.nz has dropped from being top10 rankings for all of my keywords to not even being in top 50 after just checking now. It used to be hosted on: www.1stdomains.nz

Trying to rank on top 3 in Google.co.uk for a moderate competitive keyword by having a .dk domain
Do you think I should switch my domain to a .com and use ccTLDs method for my other international domains ? The problem is that my .dk domain(norwell.dk) has a better SEO ranking that my .com domain (norwelloutdoorfitness.com) and also differs slightly in name. The primary keyword I want to rank is ' outdoor fitness' which is in the name of 'norwelloutdoorfitness.com', thus over the long-term providing better benefits. Let me know what you think. Thanks, Andrei

Web Hosting and CDN for Wordpress Site Load Speed - Suggestions Needed
We all know that website load speed is more important than ever. While I love the look and feel of parallax and Wordpress, I want to do everything I can to keep the load speed down. I see a lot of conflicting information regarding web hosting services, CDN services and other service (Cloudflare for example). I am looking to hear from those with their own experiences to let me know what they think is the ideal setup for a parallax Wordpress site is as far as which services to use, including: 1. Web Hosting

2. CDN
3. Any other service or product that would help to provide and extremely fast site load time. Thank you!0 -
Trying a completely new design on our .co.uk should I have it on a different IP to my .com
We have just relaunched http://www.gobananas.co.uk/ and made the site much smaller than .com and dissallowed robots on 98% of the site. The goal with this site is to get users to use the search facility rather than go through our menus like we have on .com Should I host the UK site on a different IP number to the .com?Thanks

What are some on-pg recommendations for a flash resort site?
One of my clients want to be index for all their pages but I am afraid the website may have difficulty since it is all in flash. The website is a luxury brand for resorts. The website is me.graficode.com/preprod/ and currently has 6 main subfolers for resorts. Please let me know what recommendations will help me organically. It is hard to add content which will cause probelms for headers and keyword density.

Recommendation for a company to make a site more mobile friendly?
Hiya, We have a client who uses us for SEO, and a separate company for web development. They have a fairly large site on a bespoke CMS. They're happy with the site, but the user experience on mobile devices is not right. Can anybody recommend a company specializing in that area? Preferably a UK company but not essential. Thanks 🙂
