Facebook likes, search rankings, acquisition speed. Concern?
-
SEOs know that a rapid uptick in link acquisition speed can trigger a red flag within google.
Is the same true of a FB Like campaign?
I'm not up to speed on whether Google is believed to use Facebook Likes in its ranking algo. Should we treat a FB Like acquisition campaign like we do linkbuilding -- namely, throttle it so that there isn't a huge spike in growth rate for a short period?
Surely FB might have internal algos that devalue 'astroturf' likes, but the core concern of this client is whether SEARCH RANKINGS might suffer if the FB Likes grow too quickly. My gut says no, don't be concerned. What do you think?

Slow and Steady is always a good sign. However spikes every once in a while should not be an issue at all. Let's say something from your website goes viral and you get tons of likes and other social activity related to your website for like 3 days and then it dies down. That's the nature of social media. Don't worry about it
-
In my opinion is not the same. First, because the link has a very strong effect in your website rank, and the like has a minor effect.
I made some research and I didn't found anything about that. Don't worry, there is no problem.

What do you do when your Facebook page is Unpublished?
The page in question has been there for about 5 years and has about 80 followers. It is for a business that sells steel plate (B2B) and everything is totally compliant with Facebook T&C as far as I can tell. It's been unpublished with the statement "Your Page has been unpublished and it cannot be published again." We did an appeal about 6 weeks ago and heard absolutely nothing.... Generally we got no likes, no comments and reached about 20 people with each post. So I am lost as to why we were banned and lost as to what we do next It's fine if they want to unpublish - it's their site - what's frustrating is the arbitrariness, the lack of information as to why it was banned and lack of communication. It's fine if it's a spam site (except if you are a spammer) but I'm selling boring steel plates..... pwqkaz1xzkx7myx2ncwn

What metrics does the fb:admins Facebook Open Graph tag actually provide?
I'm considering implementing the "fb:admins" Open Graph tag on our website to provide our social media team with additional analytics. We already have the other standard OG tags in place. My question is twofold: Can you use a Facebook Page ID rather than an individual user's account ID? What data, specifically, will this tag provide? Our site already has an official Facebook Page and I'm curious whether this tag would make any NEW information available, outside of what we can already get within the Page Insights. I would love to see a screencap if anyone has it implemented! Facebook outlines the tag usage here, but it's not exceedingly helpful: https://developers.facebook.com/docs/insights/ Thanks guys!

Leveraging Facebook to Increase Domain Authority
We have a significant following on facebook with over 6,000 fans, but very few "likes" or "shares" of our homepage. Do fans in anyway affect our sites domain authority and what is the best way to leverage our fan base to increase our DA?

Good idea to include links in Facebook posts teaser-text?
Hi guys, I'm wondering; is it a good idea (for the engines primaliry) to include links with targeted keywords in facebook posts. From a user perspective I would say it's not desirable. But I'm wondering how Google and co treat links which they find there. They are nofollowed, yes. They are indexed however but when I want google to show me the text-only version of the cached page I receive an 404 error which is odd. Anybody else getting the 404 from google? Eg. clicking on this cache-URL: https://webcache.googleusercontent.com/search?q=cache:jsC_26QVKbgJ:www.facebook.com/echoonline/posts/156674087731661+site:facebook.com/echoonline&cd=3&hl=de&ct=clnk&gl=de&client=firefox-a and then on "text only" leads to this page which does not exist: https://webcache.googleusercontent.com/echoonline/posts/156674087731661?_fb_noscript=1 Looking forward to your ideas on this topic.

Do facebook shares pass share juice the same way links pass link juice?
If i have a page on my domain say PAGE-A and let's say it's located at: http://www.mydomain.com/something/page-a and this page has quite a lot of page authority from many many inbound links. It is my understanding that if i "sculpt" the internal links on PAGE-A to point at only my primary targets, let's call the PAGE-B, PAGE-C, and PAGE-D; then those pages would gain some benefit from this link juice flowing through. Consider a similar situation where i have a page, say PAGE-F located at: http://www.mydomain.com/anotherpage/page-F and page-F gets 150 facebook shares. would the links on page-F pass this benefit on in any way? Or is only the direct target of the facebook share gaining benefit from this facebook sharing? Furthermore, lets consider a scenario where there are 30 or 40 similar pages like PAGE-F all with links out to my primary targets. Would these primary targets gain anything as these 30 or 40 pages gained facebook shares? Repeat above question, replace 'facebook' with 'twitter'. repeat again for 'google+' ?

What's up with the #! in twitter & Facebook URL's?
I was just wondering why Facebook and now Twitter have added "#!" into the url structure? Does this mean we should link to a twitter profile like this - twitter.com/profile - anymore? Should we now be linking like this: twitter.com/#!/kevinbarnes Kevin
