Wordpress Category pagination causes duplicate page title errors (ie. when there are so many posts in the category, it paginates them), is this a problem? Your tool is reporting it as a problem... but ProPhoto (my Wordpress provider say it is not a problem).

Here are the 2 URL's with the same page title:

http://www.lisagillphotography.co.uk/category/child-photography/

http://www.lisagillphotography.co.uk/category/child-photography/page/2/

Here's Google's recent mention of how to sort out Pagination issues, which states

"With rel=”next” and rel=”prev” markup, you can provide a strong hint to Google that you would like us to treat these pages as a logical sequence, thus consolidating their linking properties and usually sending searchers to the first page".

We have a very large glossary of over 1000 industry terms on our site with links to reference material, embedded video, etc. Is it better for SEO purposes to keep this on one page or should we break it up into multiple pages, a different page for each letter for example? Thanks.

Getting the Titles and Headings Right on Product Pages. Userbility vs SEO

Hey Mozzers, I am optimising a chaotic section of the site including many similar products. Writing unique content etc. The titles and urls were all over the place so my first job was to tidy them up so I could make some sense of the situation, especially as sometimes they didn't even match! I should point out were on Magento, so product name = Both the Heading and Title of the page, the meta title can be set separately. When i refer to title I mean both <title>and <h1> Before they existed as such URL: domain.com/200-x-0-5-g-rs-232-balance.html TItle: PC-1234 200 x 0.5g x 0.3 RS-232 Balance This format was (Product Code, Capacities, Resolutions, Accuracy, Product Title) The issue was all 60 products in a page followed this format. Navigating through the page was a nightmare and was just a jumble of numbers and highly confusing even to me who learnt what they all mean, especially when you had 8 products from the same range you got presented with APC-1234 200 x 0.5g x 0.3 RS-232 Balance APC-1235 500 x 1g x 0.3 RS-232 Balance APC-1236 1000 x 2g x 0.3 RS-232 Balance APC-1238 5000 x 10g x 0.3 RS-232 Balance APC-1239 10000 x 15g x 0.3 RS-232 Balance APC-1210 20000 x 25g x 0.3 RS-232 Balance APC-1211 50000 x 50g x 0.3 RS-232 Balance I changed them to something more user friendly. URL: domain.com/200g-precision-balance.html Title: 200g Precision Balance This has seen the following benefits - URL is now clear and means something to the user - Product titles are easy to navigate and the page is more pleasing to the eye - The jumble of numbers in the title are now all labelled and shown below each product listing in bullet point so the user can see the basic spec of a product without having to decipher any titles Upon reflection I has a couple of concerns I was hoping you could discuss, I am wondering if I have made the titles too simple. 1) I have no product code in the title We have our own products manufactured and sell existing brands with their own product codes. Some of these can be lengthy. Adding them makes them hard to the eye and the page looked cramped. The codes are listed beneath each product title on category pages and on a list on the actual product page, but no where in the titles. 2)None of our products have a brand listed in the title None of the products on the site had brand names in anything but the images when i started and as such it snuck under my radar. But should i pre-fix all titles with a brand name? Should URL: domain.com/200g-precision-balance.html Title: 200g Precision Balance become URL: domain.com/BRAND1-200g-precision-balance.html Title: BRAND1 200g Precision Balance My instinct tells me to change things to include brands as its useful to the customer and should have an SEO benefit, but to leave out product codes as they are accessible to the customer where they are now and dont make things messy and unreadable. How do I fix duplicate page issue on Shopify with duplicate products because of collections.

I'm working with a new client with a site built on Shopify. Most of their products appear in four collections. This is creating a duplicate content challenge for us. Can anyone suggest specific code to add to resolve this problem. I'm also interested in other ideas solutions, such as "don't use collections" if that's the best approach. I appreciate your insights. Meta titles and description for subcategory pages in CMS websites

I have a CMS based site and for that I am getting duplicate page title and description error message, for my all sub-category pages. What can I do for this because write Meta title and description for each page for CMS based website is not possible.

How to fix joomla duplicate page titles??

Hello, I have been using seomoz and sh404sef for almost a month now and can't seem to figure out my duplicate page title issue on my joomla site. I have changed everything I thought necessary but no luck. I have one page that I am trying to make dissapear from duplicate page title error and if I can figure it out i'm sure I can use same fix for the other 1,000 duplicate page titles being reported in my seomoz crawl report I have one link that I am working with sef url: http://www.mysite.com/contactus.html I have used sh404sef url manager and added page title, description and keywords to this link and for 3 weeks straight now it still shows that it is duplicate page title in my seomoz crawl report Is there something that I am missing somewhere or did i setup a bad campaign that is looking at wrong things on site? Duplicate content from category pages?

I have an ecommerce store with different categories for my products. Some products do appear in more than one category, is that an issue even if you end up on the same product page/link? Also, I have a "show all products" category, which I believe creates duplicate content too? What is your take on this? What can I do to solve this? Is it even an issue of duplicate content? All answers are very much appreciated!

If a site has https versions of every page, will the search engines view them as duplicate pages?

A client's site has HTTPS versions of every page for their site and it is possible to view both http and https versions of the page. Do the search engines view this as duplicate content?

Can I have a strong brand category page and a strong product page?

It seems Google base and other Comparison Shopping Engines like to see the brand in the product name. But, on my category page for that brand, website optimizer tells me including the brand name with each product is cannabilizes links. For example; I have a page for jewelerABC with 20 pieces of jewelry listed as well as original content about jewelerABC. I do not currently name these products as xyz by jewelerABC. This page comes up nicely in the serps. But in Google base The top listings for jewelry by jewelerABC seem to have every product named xyz by jewelerABC or JewelerABC xyzs. What is the best way to optimize.for both? Stephen
