Do sites like these really work?
-
This company claims to have a good tool. To me it looks like spam. They claim to automate link building and they claim to use Googles Panda to their advantage.
This site does however use link diversity, not sure about how relevant the sources are for each keyword...
Would this fall into black hat or gray area SEO?
-
Umm you just have to look at their homepage to see that it's as spammy as anything. Ask yourself this, does it sound too good to be true?
I would stay well clear of automated tools like this - unless you want another BMR on your hands - http://www.buildmyrank.com/news/its-been-a-great-run

Good question, and there is a fuzzy line somewhere. There are some real differences between the blog networks I had used and guest blogging:
- Yes, automation is a big part of the problem. It would be clean for a program to suggest content and links to a blogger, but it would not be ok to insert links automatically.
- Guest blogs typically have much higher quality guidelines, a real author with a name, and they don't exist solely for the purpose of linking to external sites.
There are more and less legitimate ways to guest blog. Sometimes you see two friends who write on one another's blogs, knowing nothing about SEO. Then there are some who haggle over anchor text, number of links, where the links go, and so on. To Google, this is not ok.
Like it or not, sensible or not, Google basically wants site owners to act like links have no value to the linked-to site.
-
I have never used anything like this as well, where I just submit blindly.
Blog networks that are being punished, did they take posts that are not relevant or helpful and spread them? What if they only add your content (links) to relevant blogs where users can benefit?
Whats the difference between these blog sites and http://myblogguest.com/?
I know that on myblogguest.com you manually pick relevant sites and manually contact them. Is that the only difference?
-
That's exactly what a blog network is, and Google is deindexing them and sending webmasters warnings for using them. I don't care whether it's white, black, or grey, but this is clearly a "link scheme" as defined by Google.
I've never used this particular service, so I can't comment on it specifically. I've used a lot like them. You may see some results if you're careful, but it's not like you suddenly rank first for whatever keyword you want. In the end, though, look at all of the wasted, counter-productive effort of people who invested in blog networks that are now shut down.
tl;dr: It's not a long-term strategy.
-
Have you ever used a service like this? Do they own the sites that publish your links? Are the links being placed in relevant places?
-
Im not sure about Googles views on automations. I have used some programs to automate certain things. You can automate things as long as you do it in the white hat way. For example I can use a link building tool to find potential link partners, instead of blasting one email to all of them, I analyze their site and manually contact them.
Im asking this question to get opinions on this type of service, Wanted to see if anyone has ever used it, or something similar to it. Does it work? Is it reliable? (I would say I am 75% agains it)
-
How is it black hat? You still create your own content, they just distribute it for you (getting you the links).
This can easily fall into a gray area.
-
In a nutshell
.. no.
Unless you are experienced with 'black hat' tactics and have been experimenting with them for years then I would stay clear of programs like these.
-
Hi,
I don't know much about the service if offers, but I'd imagine anything 'automated' would be classed as black hat by Google.
When link building I often go by the moto - if it's too good to be true, it probably is. Depressing huh? But it's a good way of keeping link building under control...

Redirecting an Entire Site to a Page on Another Site?
So I have a site that I want to shut down http://vowrenewalsmaui.com and redirect to a dedicated Vow Renewals page I am making on this site here: https://simplemauiwedding.net. My main question is: I don't want to lose all the authority of the pages and if I just redirect the site using my domain registrar's 301 redirect it will only redirect the main URL not all of the supporting pages, to my knowledge. How do I not lose all the authority of the supporting pages and still shut down the site and close down my site builder? I know if I leave the site up I can redirect all of the individual pages to corresponding pages on the other site, but I want to be done with it. Just trying to figure out if there is a better way than I know of. The domain is hosted through GoDaddy.

Site Migration of 4 sites into 1?
Hi Guys, I have a massive project involving a migration of 4 sites into 1. 4 sites include: **www.MainSite.com ** www.E-commerce.com www.Membership.com www.ResearchStudy.com Goal of this project is to have 1-4 regrouped into Main Site I will be following the best practice from this post https://moz.com/blog/web-site-migration-guide-tips-for-seos which has an awesome checklist. I am actually about to start Phase 3: URL redirect mapping. Because all of these sites have hundreds of duplicates, I figured I should first resolve the Main Site dup issues before creating the URL redirect mapping but what about the other domains (2,3,4) though? Should I first resolve the Dup issues on those ones as well or it is not necessary since they will be pointing into the Main Site new domain? I want to make sure I don't overwork the programming team and myself. Thanks For sharing your expertise and any tips on how should I move forward with this.

One Site vs. Many
This is a question that I am not sure has a "right" answer. I am just wondering what everyone's thoughts are on this. I can see benefit of both sides of the coin. In your opinion, is it better to have one large e-commerce site with all of your content on the same domain or is it better to have multiple more targeted domains with your content broken up into smaller chunks? The reason I ask is, I feel like while multiple more targeted sites certainly have the benefit of focus, aren't you taking all your traffic and content, splitting it up and leaving you with several sites that most likely are getting less traffic than one large site would. All opinions welcome.

Why my site it's not being indexed?
Hello.... I got to tell that I feel like a newbie (I am, but know I feel like it)... We were working with a client until january this year, they kept going on their own until september that they contacted us again... Someone on the team that handled things while we were gone, updated it´s robots.txt file to Disallow everything... for maybe 3 weeks before we were back in.... Additionally they were working on a different subdomain, the new version of the site and of course the didn't block the robots on that one. So now the whole site it's been duplicated, even it´s content, the exact same pages exist on the suddomain that was public the same time the other one was blocked. We came in changes the robots.txt file on both server, resend all the sitemaps, sent our URL on google+... everything the book says... but the site it´s not getting indexed. It's been 5 weeks now and no response what so ever. We were highly positioned on several important keywords and now it's gone. I now you guys can help, any advice will be highly appreciated. thanks Dan

I have a general site for my insurance agency. Should I create niche sites too?
I work with several insurance agencies and I get this questions several times each month. Most agencies offer personal and business insurance and in a certain geographic location. I recommend creating a quality general agency site but would they have more success creating other nice sites as well? For example, a niche site about home insurance and one about auto insurance. What would your recommendation be?

Changing Site URLs
I am working on a new client that hasn't implemented any SEO previously. The site has terrible url nomenclature and I am wondering if it is worth it to try and change it. Will I lose rankings? What is the best url naming structure? Here's the website http://www.formica.com/en/home/TradeLanding.aspx. (I am only working on the North America site.) Thanks!

Site: on Google
Hello, people. I have a quick question regarding search in Google. I use search operator [site:url] to see indexing stauts of my site. Today, I was checking indexing status and I found that Google shows different numbers of indexed pages depends on search setting. 1. At default setting (set as 10 search result shows) > I get about 150 pages indexed by Google. 2. I set 100 results shows per page and tried again. > I get about 52 pages indexed by Google. Of course I used same page URL. I really want to know which data is accurate. Please help people!!
