301 redirect .com to .co.uk to improve position in UK serps

I've set up a new campaign for a website specifically targetting a service offered in a specific UK city.
It's on a .com domain, and we've managed to get a few powerful links and while its only been going for a few weeks it's starting to get decent rankings in Google.com but is nowhere to be seen in Google.co.uk. It's getting good traffic but not traffic that converts probably because it's targeted to the UK and most visitors are from the US.
I've just set up Google places, changed geo targeting to the UK, I've moved over to a UK host and we're targetting UK sites for links. I think while things are still at an early stage it would be a good idea to move everything that's on the .com over to the .co.uk with a 301 redirect and send all new links over to the .co.uk. What do you guys think? Is this a good idea?

It's perfectly possible to get a .com ranking well in the UK - there are lots of sites that use a .com and rank just fine.
However if time is of the essence (and when is it not?) and you have the .co.uk domain then switching now and building further links to the .co.uk is probably a good option for you

Is it still true that when your video is shown in a Google Video Carousel your page is not shown in the normal SERPS?
Hello everybody, I'm trying to decide whether it's worth it to invest time in optimizing my video's to appear in the video carousels on Google. I read that once your video is in the carousel, your normal snippet in the SERPS is removed. Is this still the case? Thank you for helping out!

YouTube Videos on SERPS
Hi there, One of my clients is asking why there's this big SEO result when https://www.google.es/search?q=botemania+youtube&oq=botemani&aqs=chrome.0.69i59j0j69i61j69i57j0l2.1149j0j4&sourceid=chrome&ie=UTF-8. What kind of search results are thos with this big video first result? Any tips how to achieve this? Something related with the views, video description?. I tested a few other similar queries, even big brands included in the search query and this kind of SEO result does not show up. Any help would be appreciated, thanks! qGwcE

Does anyone have experience with ecinity.com as a vehicle for populating local search directories? If yes, how would you rank it as a competitor to Localeze and UBL?
I've been approached by the company to use their tool. It has functionality beyond just populating local data sources which I'm not concerned with. I just want to know how it ranks in terms of local directory coverage. They claim 85% of the local directories will be populated.

Does position in local directories effect google detecting citations?
There are a lot of local directories that i have seen google pull citations from. Quite often i see people putting listings in these directories prefixed by several "A"s, so that they will appear on the first page of the list. Just how deep does google crawl through the pages of these lists? will google actually crawl through all the pages? Some of these directories offer paid listings that appear at the top of the directory. We have been considering purchasing some of these paid positions, so that google would be more likely to pickup our citations. In one case i have noticed a directory: shopincities.com do something that spiked my interest. Basically, if you start clicking through the different pages of a category, the site will block you after 3 or 4 pages in. It serves you an error saying that you are not human. In my mind this is to prevent google from fully crawling their whole list, so that the people who pay for the top positions are picked up, and the people who don't pay, even though their profiles are listed there, never get crawled by google. They have a couple listings of us with screwy info but i can't actually use their website, all the buttons that say "join" or "write a review" "uplaod an image" etc, are just an href="#" and don't actually do anything??? I figured maybe they have some broken javascript so i tried using different browsers (firefox & chrome in mac, and IE in windows.) Google Places - Co Working Spaces
Hello, Hope this hasn't been answered but no combination of searches could turn it up. What is the impact for those using a co working space such as http://www.thenetworkhub.ca/ in regards to Google Places and local searches? Assumedly there will be multiple 'businesses' using the same address including suite number. Does this cause issue with Google understanding that these are truly legit 'offices' and work address for honest to goodness businesses? Suppose part of the challenge may be those using this address for just mail and answering... Guess my point is, will 20-40 people using the same address for their places profile be a problem? What alternatives exist for these folks? Thanks y'all!
