Selling same procucts from more than one website
-
I would like to know whether it's ok to sell same products from 2-3 websites. Design and URL structure will be different but same e-commerce platform. Would google penalise or drop the rankings, etc.
How google deall with this sort of thing?
If problem arises how can we get around it?
Thanks

I agree with the other two response - why have 3 sites selling the same product?
This problem isn't new though. Many big sites have the same problem where they sell the same product as many of their competitors.
You should be fine as long as you make each page different to the others. Amazon got around this by giving users the ability to write reviews of the products, which ensured that each page had unique user generated content on the pages and was therefore useful for Google.
If you can, stick to one site.

I've toyed with this a number of times - and always stayed with growing and improving a single site. By splitting your focus amongst numerous sites I think you will get worse results - you'll have to build links to multiple domains instead of just one - with one site each link you get benefits the whole site! You're also running the risk of google filtering out some sites from the SERPs - especially if running from very similar or identical IP addresses.
Overall, it's something I'd discourage - even though I know you are thinking "better focus, smaller niche, more targeted" etc.. I know, I've been there

In theory I wouldn't expect it to be an issue that the same products are being sold but you may wish to ensure that the text content varies. If you look at it from Google point of view is it worth them showing all three sites if the user will only find the same information.
Not sure of the advantages that you see by this approach. Having to set up and monitor 3 sites instead of one and having potential inbound links (hugely important to SEO) split between 3 sites makes me think that you would be better off with the one site.

My website is not configured in AMP pages, but it is mobile-friendly.
Hi

My website is not configured in AMP pages, but it is mobile-friendly.
Last month, my website was ranked to 10 positions for this keyword (Magento Development Company).
Sometimes it's showing on 25 positions but not in the top 5 positions. Here is my URL (for analysis):
https://www.nevinainfotech.com/magento-development-service/
Would you please explain why my keyword rankings are often not showing in the search listings?
Would you mind letting me know is there anything I need to change?

When sub domains take away the traffic from search; will this helps or hurts main website rankings?
Hi all, We have some of the landing pages on our sub domains which are getting ranked for our brand related queries and taking away the traffic as we don't have pages to rank for those search queries. I would like to know if this scenario hurts or helps our main website ranking as the traffic to the main website is getting diverted to sub domain. Thanks

Images added to website automatically become URLs - is this an issue?
Hello Mozzers! I've just been trawling through a website and noticed all of the images had their own URLs. There's a bespoke CMS and that's how it works with images... So out of 1447 urls, 1314 are images. Firstly, is this an issue / problem from an SEO perspective. If it is, how should I deal with it? Thanks in advance, Luke

Seo results are down. Is my "all in one seo pack" to blame?
My website www.noobtraveler.com has shown a dip of 40% since Penguin's last update in November. I also transferred hosting at time, but I was wondering if I'm over optimizing with the all in one seo pack. I would appreciate it if someone could do a quick sweep and share their thoughts. Thanks!

How long does it take for a new website to start showing in the SERP'S
I launched my website about 6 weeks ago. It was indexed fairly quickly. But it is not showing up in the Google SERP. I did do the on page SEO and followed the best practise's for my website. I have also been checking webmaster tools and it tells me that there is no errors with my site. I also ran it through the seomoz on page seo analyzer and again no real big issues. According to seomoz I had 1 duplicate content issue with my blog posts, which i corrected. I understand it takes some time, but any ideas of how much time? And f.y.i it's a Canadian website. So it should be a lot easier to rank as well. Could my site be caught in the Google 'sandbox effect' ? Any thoughts on this would be greatly appreciated.

Since authorship markup requires a domain email, how can a community website allow users to link their Google+ profile?
It seems that Google now requires authors to have a valid email on the domain. This is easy for the traditional web publication. But what about community websites like SEOmoz? How can a community website allow users to link their Google+ profile? Will community websites like SEOmoz be required to 1. Give all users a domain email 2. Ask users to validate the email address with Google? Seems overly complicated.
