Configure parameter effect in google wmt to reduce overly dynamic urls
-
We are looking at a weatherforecast site with realtime information that is updated every 5 minutes. For this website many urls have 6 parameters
The SEOmoz campagne found duplicate information and overly dynamic urls. Then we went to google wmt section url parameters and configured parameters like day, month, year (effect: none).
The next weekly SEOmoz campagne showed a big reduction in duplicates and small reduction overly dynamic urls.
How can we reduce these 'errors' further?

Thx for the great advice. We have a lot to do.

Good question! Unfortunately, the Moz web app isn't as sophisticated as Google in ignoring superfluous parameters, but there are some ways to deal with these errors.
In your situation I would consider implementing canonical tags on URLs with different parameters. This only makes sense if the pages actually are canonical, near-duplicates of each other where the only thing that changes is small amounts of updating weather information.
This might actually improve your search engine rankings, as well.
For the Moz crawl report, it will ignore duplicate title and content warnings for pages that have correct canonical tags. (you will see an increase of the number of canonical in your report, but this is just a notice)
Hope this helps. Best of luck with your SEO!

Google results not close to matching MOZ PA and SA - Why?
I'm trying to convince a boss and another client/partner of the value of MOZ, but it's a challenge when Google's results and the MOZ analytics are way off. For example, when I do non-personalized (MOZ toolbar) Google search for "stair lift kansas city" I see some results that make sense. Further down the page I see my prospective client, kclift.com -- it's a new site with poor MOZ grades and almost no backlinks. It has a PA of 1 and a DA of 4. Yet it ranks above a YP site that has a DA of 89, and another site that has a PA of 27 and a DA of 14. What gives? When I used an in-private Bing search for those terms this site didn't display in the 1st 4 pages. That makes sense with these MOZ rankings and the new site. So how does the site get page 1 results on Google for the same terms? (I should note that I've gone to this site a lot, for the client, and done other related searches. I live in Charlotte, which is why I've included Kansas City in the search terms. With this search, I've tried several ways to do a Google search that is truly anonymous, but I'm not sure I've succeeded. I've erased browsing data, used incognito, used other browsers, and used the MOZ non-personalized Google search. All from the same IP though. Does Google track that? If so, how can one do a truly anonymous search on Google?) All suggestions welcome. Thanks! Richard S.

Recovering rankings after a botched url change
Hi there, I have for a long time had a bicycle maintenance website at madegood.org. Over the years the film branch of this business has taken off and moved in a slightly different direction, so I thought in March I decided to move madegood.org to madegoobikes.com, and create a new website for my film business at madegood.com. I thought I did a good job of telling google about my change of domain, but my rankings completely died, so about a month I moved madegoodbikes.com back to madegood.org. So far I haven't seen any sign of a recovery in my rankings, I'm getting almost no visits. I've check all my top pages on OSE and everything seems to be in place. https://moz.com/researchtools/ose/pages?site=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.madegood.org%2F&no_redirects=0&sort=page_authority&filter=all&page=1 Is it normal to wait over a month for my rankings to recover, or is there anything else I should be doing? Any tips/ideas/advice whatsoever will of huge help!

4XX (Client Error) Report - Referrer URL Feature Request
Why not allow me to click on the individual 404 errors in the 4XX (Client Error) report and allow me to actually see the where the broken links are coming from (as a hyperlinked url) so I can locate/click and fix them? Providing the referring url w/hyperlink will stop me from having to jump between the report and searching in site explorer, or downloading the complete error report and sorting.

Apparent discrepancy on overseas Google results in Rankings
Probably a very noob question this ... I'm based in the UK and have just set up a campaign which includes Google US. There seems to be a discrepancy between some of the rankings found by SEOMOZ and what I see when I simulate the actual search using Adwords > Ad Preview. For example, a particular term shows "not in the top 50" for Google US on the rankings page of my campaign in SEOMOZ. But my US colleagues say that when they run the search they see us on page 1. And when I simulate the search via Adwords Preview, I also see our site ranking well on page 1. I'd like to understand why the discrepancy 🙂 Thanks for any advice. Gord

Yahoo Site Explorer died. Does DA and PA Seomoz parameters have all it takes to replace YSE?
We're trying to simplify our link analysis job when acquiring a new external link. We're wondering to know if Domain Authority Seomoz parameter is all what we need to take a decision. Does DA Seomoz parameter takes into consideration 'domain age', 'alexa ranking', 'dmoz links', indexed pages on google', and 'inbound links vs outbound links'?
