How long does it take to get the juice from a new inbound link?
-
Hi guys, I have just recived some new inbound links; in your opinion how long does it take to see some benefits in term of rankings? And when i will able to see them in the inbound links checker report? Thanks Guido
-
Ciao Guido,
The first one has a lot of par within the url. I've checked the source of the page and the links is not there - within the code so that is not good.
On a quick look it looks like it's not in the index anyway. I don't think it will help on a link building side. It needs a more detailed review but on a first glance i don't think it will help you.
The links from http://www.paginegialle.it/ is a no follow link - it won't help with rankings but it could be a good resource from another perspective: referral, branding etc. From an SEO perspective I would't monitor it as it's a waste of time but the links it self is not a waste of time and even if the link is a no follow one it will still help with the ratio of no follow vs followed links so it's ok - just don't spend time on it to monitor and all.
we must overcaming them and go first.... the query is poltrona frau brescia
** First of all your competitor looks easy to out rank - you just need more links. It dosen't look like they are doing much on the SEO side.
On the other hand it dosen't look like http://poltronafraubrescia.zenucchi.it has a big authority either so it's an open battle.
With what page do you want to rank for "poltrona frau brescia" ? Home page or another page ?
The home page is light as far as content so my suggestion would be to builkd a new strong landing page optimized for this keyword - also link this new landing page from the home page too - or from all pages. (especialy since you are pointinglinks to the home page too).
If possibile, some new links on the new landing page will help a lot.
On a short run, just get some social going on the new landing page - that will give you a temporary boos in rankings until you get the links online.
The new landing page, in my opinion, from an SEO point of view should have enough content to be a good resource on the subject ( friendly url with keyword within, h1 and title tag with keyword within but no duplicate of h1 and the title tag as far as text)
In bocca al lupo!

Thank you very much...
Your answer seems to be complete... However, i'll write you more details to go in depth.. The site is http://poltronafraubrescia.zenucchi.it and the links that i've just recived are- http://www.poltronafrau.com/portal/page/portal/new/webpages/poltronafrau/distribution/home?p=filterDone:y;continent:EU;country:IT;region:030;city:brescia&lang=it ( the anchor text is poltrona frau brescia )
- http://www.paginegialle.it/poltronafraubrescia ( update soon )
- http://www.paginegialle.it/zenucchiarredamenti ( update soon )
the first one is the worldwide portal of poltrona frau, but if you look at the url it seems a little bit long, isn't it? we are premium dealer in brescia ( italy ) and we pretended to be linked... the big problem is that we are fighting with our competitor that is not an official dealer but it has the right domain to be ranked first ( www.poltronafraubrescia.it and .com ) .... we must overcaming them and go first.... the query is poltrona frau brescia

It depends on how fast Google bot will identify that link and credit it towards your site.
First of all, if the link is on a new page, check if the page is in google index - once it's listed that means the link has also been discovered. Check in google with site:url of the exact page that has the link.
If the page is older and already in the index it depends on the authority of the site and how fats google is re-crawling that page: that can take from a few minutes to a few weeks or even more.
For the link to be visibile in open site explorer and other link profile tools - it depends on the crawler of seomoz or the other seo tools crawlers but it's not related with teh fact that the link will or won't be counted by google.
Some links are set "on delay" by google so even if the link is found it's place "on hold" and the actual vote will be casted later...
Bottom line: to see the benefits as far as rankings from one link it depends on:
-
how fast google can find the link (from a few minutes to several weeks - depending on the site authority)
-
even if the link is found it can "on hold" (depending on your site, anchor text and several other factors)
-
it depends a lot on the type of link: inline, image, footer, site wide etc and again, on what type of site and page is placed (authority, relevance)
-
and of course it needs to be a do follow link to see any benefits in rankings.
Hope it helps - as a general overview at least but you can always place your site and the link here so we can have a look and send amore in depth reply...

It depends on the site. If they're a large news site then they will be crawled constantly so the search engines keep up to date. If it is a low (or even high) authority site that doesn't get up dated very often then it may not be crawled for some time.
It could take just a few days or some weeks in the SERPs. When using Open Site Explorer it has sometimes taken around a month or so to see a new link appear.

How vital is it to get rid of spam links?
We have about 40, between 1-4 flags. Do you see this as a problem? We looked at the disavow feature, but it seems you need to be cautious about using it. Please advise. Thanks!

Are new pages treated similar to new domains with respect to ranking?
Hello...I'm hoping to get some advice or guidance regarding the following. My website has gone from a 30 page site about loans, to a 500 page site covering a much wider range of products such as mortgages and other more specific loan related pages. All the new pages were made live at the same time, and I've been through GWT tools to add pages with in the Google fetch and most have been indexed fine. My question is, how should I expect Google to treat all of these new pages? The site has changed massively and many of the new pages are at pages 3-4 for their key terms. Will Google treat these new pages in the same way it may a new domain, e.g. it could be potenitally a couple of months before the pages start to rank better? I appreciate that the terms are very competitive. Thanks!

Do links from the second page of an article pass link juice?
I have been writing for some sites with a high overall page rank and the articles are being viewed as quality by search engines as well. However, they usually put a link to my site at the very end of the article and then break the article down into two pages to increase ad revenue. It seems that I'm not getting much credit for that link even if the page has a high SEOmoz/PR score. I want to know if I am getting the benefit from these links. If not, how do I make sure I get the most bang, even if my link is on a second page of the article? Here is an example of what I mean: http://www.forbes.com/sites/theyec/2012/08/22/kanban-for-customers-how-to-increase-transparency-in-your-business/

Why does my site only have 4 internal followed links/internal links?
When using Open Site Explorer my site is winning in many categories but lacking in others as compared to competitors. I intend to improve on this but am a little confused by the extremely low number of "internal followed links" and "internal links" at just 4. My competitors have much more than that. Does this mean links to the root domain? Total internal links? I have many internal links so I'm having a hard time figuring this one out. What four internal links are getting noticed? I just went through and changed all the links that went to index.html to link to the root domain at www.njlimocarservice.com as I just found a Q&A that indicates this was better. So as of Wed at 5:45 PM all my links to the homepage went to index.html and not the root which is no longer the case. Not sure if this matters. At the same time I also just put a 301 from index.html to redirect to www.njlimocarservice.com. Any help appreciated! h9QuF.png

Primary link building for new clients, where do you go first?
When starting out with a new client, where do you look first to build links for that client? I have a lot of close friends who have small businesses with not a very huge budget for SEO and I'm trying to wrap my head around how to do a significant amount of quality link building without breaking the bank. Any suggestions? My list so far is: Friends / Family of the client.

How long does it typically take to see a boost in traffic after a strong increase in links?
Suppose you have had a great month of linkbuilding and significantly increased the number of linking domains (say by about 10%). How long does it typically take to see a noticeable uptick in traffic based on your experience?
