Domain & Page Authority of brand new site?
-
Something I always do to assess how easy/difficult it will be for a clients site to rank against competitors is to compare domain and page authority scores with the scores of the competitors on page 1.
This is great when Moz have spidered my clients site and can provide scores but what about where a clients site is brand new with only a few natural links? Anyone suggest a ball park figures for Domain authority on brand new websites?
-
Keep in mind that DA and PA are scores that are developed by SEOmoz, not Google. Google does not come and look at OSE when deciding how to rank sites.
-
Don't forget that DA/PR isn't the only factor in ranking. I wouldn't use the strategy of comparing all the competitors on the first page as a final authority on anything. On-page is still the #1 consideration; it's just that that can only take you so far, and that's when a link profile comes in.

I have a site that is about 4-5 months old. I don't know how accurate seomoz tool bar is at updating and determiningactual authority (i think theirs is an algorithmic guess) but I out rank plenty of people with higher domain authorities and page authority than mine.
If its brand brand new I'd guess DA around 10 but again I dont think Google takes this into a account as a huge ranking factor.

Are AMP pages affecting mobile search visibility?
Hello fellow Mozzers. I've recently seen a fairly hefty drop in search visibility on Google mobile, from 12.8% to 4.1%. Desktop visibility is unaffected. The same search visibility drop is echoed in SEMRush. However, Google Analytics shows that our site traffic from mobile hasn't changed. The only thing I can think of is that we recently launched AMP pages. I know Google sometimes caches AMPs so they’re served off google domains. Could that mean that the cached version of the page is ranking rather than our own? That would explain the drop in visibility but stable traffic I think?! What other explanation could it be? Many thanks in advance, Kit

Analyzing backlinks - domain, page, anchor text, contact info, description
Hello, If I have an OSE file of the site's backlinks, is there any way to easily put together a spreadsheet with domain page link is on anchor text contact info description/feed Buzzstream does domain, page, and anchor text but you have to add the contact info one by one and there's no description/feed. Is there any way with any set of tools to do it all? Talking about 1375 domains for a total of 4500 pages. Thanks!

How to Optimize a Home Page?
Can anyone advise on what is the best way to optimise the home page? Many websites I see include the target(focus) keywords from other pages on the home page. Is this self competition? "Avoid Keyword Self-Cannibalization- It's a best practice in SEO to target each keyword with a single page on your site" If an e-commerce website has 4 levels in the SEO architecture. Home Page, Brand Pages(Category), Range pages(sub-category) and individual product pages. It would seem that the main keywords would be within the category(brands) level of a website. However many websites I see include these on the home page as well. Could someone please clarify this? I do not recall seeing the report card saying Self-Cannibalization when these keywords(category level) are listed on the home page. However I could be wrong, Please could someone advise on what SEO MOZs recommendations are for best practise on optimizing a home page so that it does not compete with category pages, or other pages on the website. Thanks

On Page Analysis and Grading
I am new here and happy to be! My site is an ecommerce site with hundreds of products. I have set up campaigns to track specific products. For the on page analysis where SEOMOZ gives you a grade I have 2 urls showing. But 1 of the urls is getting an A, and 1 is getting a F. But they are the same url and obviously go to the same page. Any help would be appreciated!
