Storing & Analyzing Site Search Phrases
-
We are adding a JQuery smart search to our site that provides product suggestions as our visitors type.
I can create a simple script to store precisely what the visitors are searching for and how they type it. However...
- I am not sure how to best analyze the data for use. Simply storing the data does not tell me how many times a particular phrase was used.
- I believe a smart suggestion search tool will skew my results, as it will suggest what I list my product names as in my database rather than what they call it.
I don't want to reinvent the wheel. I found a great JQuery script for the suggestion search, but is there anything out there for storing and analyzing the user search input?

You are welcomed !

Precisely what I was hoping for! I did some searching myself and didn't realize GA would tie in with the site search. Fantastic! Thanks so much.

Hi,
Yes, Google Analytics. You can setup site search in Google analytics and connect it with your site search filed and you can then gather the data, filter and work with that data, how did they land to that page, using what keyword and using your site search where do they went, for how long etc - the feedback is very complex and incredible valuable.
Cheers !

Blogger & Influencer Outreach
I'm trying to find the most effective way to do blogger & influencer (YouTube) outreach. Is there some type of site that you can use to find and connect with influencers that are willing to feature products and services in their posts and videos? Up to this point I have simply been searching for top bloggers in geo-targeted areas - i.e. "bloggers in sacramento" - then sending them an email and connecting that way. It seems like there has to be a better way, though, right? I'm envisioning something like a classifieds site where you can list your clients' biz info, budget and what they need, and an influencer can then decide if that is something they would like to feature. Does anyone know of something like this exist? Or at least a more effective way to go about connecting with influencers that are willing to feature products and services?

Retailer search engines
Can anyone recommend any companies, tools or products to monitor and suggest best practices for submitting products to retailer search engines (Amazon for example). We are looking for something that will continually monitor a products performance, and pick up on any changes, such as if the retailer changes their search algorithm. Thank you in advance.

Is the search volume insight in Bing more accurate as it is in Google?
Does anybody know if Search volume insight in Bing is more accurate than it is in Google?
SERP Trends | | Seeders
Moz is showing Search Volume insight in Bing now (not sure about the reason, probably Moz has no access to Google? Or is it because it is more accurate?)
For some words I have my doubts about the Google Keyword Tool. I don't know about Bing.
For the first time I compare two words on Bing with Google I found out the ratio in Bing is very different compared with Google. Example:
When you check out the words: espressomachine and koffiemachine
**Google, local search in the Netherlands: **
espressomachine: 6600
koffiemachine: 8100
Bing, local search in the Netherlands:
espressomachine: 549
koffiemachine: 361 So..., are Bing users typical kind of users who uses other search phrases?
Or... is one of these two more accurate? Does anybody know?0 -
How Popular is Google Image Search?
Are there any stats on the volume of searches through Google's Image Search? My assumption is that more users are turning to image search to shop but I haven't found any supporting data. I know that click-throughs to site have fallen after Google's recent changes to the UI but still just interested in initial search volume.

Local Search Not Responding To Optimisation
Hi guys / gals. This is quite rare for me because I normally can put together a good strategy based on the best articles / content etc I have read. However this time I am in a bit of a situation where I dont seem to be able to get results for my Google Local Listings or Google Plus Places page. The listing is good, has a description, images, url, address etc. The weakness was a lack of citations, so I got the White Spark Tool and went to work. I have probably built about 20 citations - all pretty good sites, nothing dodgy. The issue is my listing has gone the wrong way i.e. lost positions. What am I doing wrong here. Is 20 citations just not enough? Is there another ranking factor I am neglecting? I have digested this : http://www.davidmihm.com/local-search-ranking-factors.shtml Please advise peeps 🙂

Pros and Cons Google Site Search
I'm having a hard time finding the actual pros and cons of implementing Google Site Search on a website. Thoughts? Any data on bounce rate of internal SERP because UX doesn't look like the website? I know you can customize, but most examples I've seen still look pretty different from the stie's native style. Any other cons? Data issues, etc?

Does Google index search results pages for other search engines?
I've noticed a lot of backlinks to sites consist of SERPS from other search engines that Google. A link to a query like: http://searcheninge.com/?q=apple for instance. Does Google index these links and do they give any value? Regards, Henrik
