Link & Content Building

this is a tough one for me.
Some of you know that the average SEO contract is fairly limited in budget.Clients in very competitive industries are fearing spending a lot on SEO.
I do not think I should list the reasons for this.what do you do with limited budgets for SEO.The onsite-technical optimization is fairly easy and take much prsonal labor but it is manageable. The off-site optimization, links, content , and just getting you client out there is time and funds consuming over the scope of regular projects I know.My question is what do you do with onsite optimization really. I am sure some advice will include write great content, get it out there, guest blogging however those are not readily available and are not fitting the scope of any project.what do you think?

The best bet is to start playing around in Photoshop! Perhaps you have a contact that you could call in a favour from?

Hello Tom,
That's a great tip, I will definitively try to implement something similar on my sites. One question, the design is that all hand coded or there are some tools or templates that you know of that could design this on the fly?
Thanks again!

Thanks Guy.
Great, there are a couple of ideas that already spring to mind. Obviously these suggestions come from much larger corporations, but hopefully they will inspire you!

Putting together smaller pieces like this can still work for you. Spend time on building a network of 'seed websites' i.e. websites that already distribute your type of content, so that you have a rush of publicity and visibility as soon as your content is launched.
I hope this helps!

love your site.
I specialize in two industries.
1. The relocation/transportation/moving industries.
2. Medical industries mainly sites for the third age

Guy, there are two aspects of SEO to consider. One could save you a little more than the other, however neither should cost the earth.
In terms of on site optimisation, many factors can be edited by the webmaster (in small businesses, typically the owner). A lot of suggestions can be found through the PRO campaign management tool, however there are plenty of suggestions on the Beginners guide to SEO http://www.seomoz.org/beginners-guide-to-seo
The main factors you should focus on, for on-site optimisation are;
- title tags
- h1 tags
- keyword usage on site
- keyword match in url
- image alt text
- internal linking keywords
In terms of off site optimisation, there should be a small budget set aside. This should not necessarily be spent on paid links, as these will over time be picked up by Google, and your websites performance will drop. However, focusing on generating good, interactive and/or graphical content (for example, see ours: http://www.evoenergy.co.uk/uk-energy-guide/) is the way forward, as it attracts a lot of links from design-related blogs and galleries.
Perhaps you could let us know what niche you are in, and we could all suggest a few ideas for you?

Link building - where to start?
Okay - we have around 200 natural links pointing to our domain, some good, some not so good; today I've spent some time removing any bad, spammy links pointing to our business domain and we're just about there. Now I'd like to start a link building strategy. To be fair, I've assumed for the past year or so that link building is dead, unless you can get natural, really good links - which in the mobility and elderly products industry can be quite difficult. I have recently created a blog on our website - could RSS feeds be a benefit too?

Quickest way to build links?
I'm in furniture e-commerce. I'm not new to e-commerce but I am new to SEO as I used to just hire everything out. What is the quickest way to build or should I say earn links? So far I've just been contacting bloggers and I've built about 4 links through guest posts in the past month. The problem is I can't tell if this is good or bad. I also contacted a niche directory and they liked my content so they are going to include my website in their directory for free next week. Should I continue doing what I'm doing? Do I need to be more aggressive? Suggestions? Thanks guys.

Content Marketing and Link Building Strategy in Industrial B2B
We struggle link building because engineering sector has few blogs and is much more traditional than many industries. I've just had a new idea on how to do this and wanted to bounce it off people to help refine it and improve it. Search LinkedIn for "content marketing" or similar Refine by Industry etc Ask people on resulting list to guest post on our blog - which is focused on engineers in our sector Then..... For us it boosts our blog content with high quality posts that are interesting for our audience and maybe some traffic benefit. For them it provides SEO benefits and possibly some market exposure. How can I parlay this into getting a link back as well? What else can I do to make it more effective? Cheers Denis

Link building need help
I've been doing link building for the past 2 months for a website. I've put together some blog posts and submitted them to some sites. However, I don't want to repeat the content on other sites or use the same sites again for links. The problem with this company is that nothing is happening. The last press release they issued was in 2010 and in the 4 months I've been working for them nothing has happened. I have found a few good quality websites in our niche which I could approach for links, but I want to have good content to put on them. Does anyone have any ideas as how to create content that would be suitable, bearing in mind this a B2B company.

Outsourced Link Building
Hello, I'm pretty sure everyone will just tell me to do the link building myself, but the truth is I don't have time. I've looked at link building firms in the past (and even used one), and they were all pretty dodgy. What should I look for in a quality link builder? What costs do you think are reasonable for a quality link? Is there anything you wish you'd known before going down a similar path? Thanks in advance for any help!

Any good content sites with good quality links?
I have some content which is still relevant and interesting but not really suitable for my current websites. I have been thinking of using this on an article site to generate some links back to my sites, but I am wary about this due to Google's targeting of content sites. I currently have good PR's on Squidoo and Hubpages which link back and work quite well. Can anyone suggest any others or any ideas how to use this content for SEO purposes? Is using it for article submissions to get links short sited?
