Discrepancy in OSE data
-
When I look up a domain in OSE, it shows that there are 3K+ links from 349 domains. However, when I download the CSV, I only see around 1,500 links.
Why the discrepancy?
-
Unfortunately, there isn't currently a way to know which domains have more than 25 links to your site. I would recommend that you submit a request to add this capability to OSE in our feture request forum. Here's the feature request forum we use to collect ideas:

Is there a way to know which domains have links filtered out?
-
Hi There,
Sorry for the confusion.
Our system can only download up to 25 links from each linking root domain (http://screencast.com/t/91C16Av7), so if one site is (or just a few sites are) responsible for the majority of the links, it will limit the number of actual links we can export. For example, www.seomoz.org shows about 1000 internal links and our system can only export up to 25 links from any linking root domain so there are around 975 internal links that we cannot export for that page. This limitation is true for the advanced reports, as well.
I hope this clears things up. Please let me know if you have any other questions.

So if it says 3K+ total links, I should be able to download that many?
-
Almost certainly the filters you have applied. The download should tell you exactly what filters are in use.

Can I export data from Keyword Difficulty on several keywords?
I know that you can export data from the tool when only analyzing one keyword. But can you also export Keyword Difficulty Score when there are multiple keywords? For example, like this: http://pro.moz.com/tools/keyword-difficulty/results.html?utf8=%E2%9C%93&keywords=SEO%0D%0As%C3%B8gemaskineoptimering%0D%0A&engine_id=112&commit=Run+Report Looking forward to your answer! 🙂

Escape commas in OSE csv export
Hi When I import an OSE Site Crawl .csv to Excel, the lines get messed up. This is due to commas within the crawled site: For instance, when there is a comma in the Meta Description field, it gets separated into two fields. Is there any way to escape this so that only the correct fields get separated? Thanks!

I'm reviewing a campaign I am running for a client, the Keywords data has not updated yet even though it's supposed to update every monday. The competitive analysis shows a date of August 14, which is odd becuase I'm on a trial account?

OSE Problems
I'm experiencing severe delays trying to export OSE data into CSV over the past couple of days. Relatively small reports I ran 2 days ago are still pending! Has anyone else noticed this? Also my campaign rankings have not updated since 24th April - anyone else? Logged with Moz Helpdesk but no reply as yet...

Press Release - using moz bar/OSE is reading domain not page? How? Why?
A question posed by Christopher Glaeser from early today:low PA high DA, had a follow up response from him providing 2 urls from PR WEB for separate press releases: http://www.prweb.com/releases/2011/11/prweb8923419.htm (HP White) On moz bar Page Analysis/Link Data = PA - 47 DA - 36 http://www.prweb.com/releases/2011/12/prweb9051351.htm (Golfer's Advice) On moz bar Page Analysis/Link Data = PA - 1 DA - 96 I kept scratching my head as to how a press release of 6 weeks ago had garnered such attention from a company that would not seem to have a huge traffic due to more obscure product offering and scientific subject (Analyses of Armor Industry versus Golf Advice).
Moz Pro | | RobertFisher
Then I realized that for HP White, Link Data was not about the PR. The url from mozbar was HPWhite.com not the above, I did not notice until I used OSE where same thing was happening. When I cut and pasted the above press release url for HP White and placed it in OSE this changed: PA - 49 DA - 96 (2 links 2 linking root domains) For Golfers advice (0 links from 0 linking domains) Note to all: the links to the PR WEB release for the HP included a low end directory type link and a link from PR WEB (. For Golfer's Advice there was not a link back to the release from PR WEB: Note that Golfer's Advice is a newer release (6 weeks). So, any link from HPWhite release would equal more juice to HP White and PR Web and Vocus. Any link to Golfer's Advice from release offers......???? to Golfer's Advice and who cares to Vocus and PR Web. So, I guess this begs a couple of questions: Why the mozbar link analysis difference for one versus the other? Does PR Web treat some differently than others? Who benefits most from me paying a PR Web to do press releases for a client, PR Web and Vocus or my client and I???? I have tried to order the images to make sense: L to R top, then bottom is last. Does OSE Anchor Text Distribution CSV include internal links or external only?
Quite often when I'm using OSE and perform a CSV export, it looks like the total inbound link count and many phrases come from internal links for the domain in question. I haven't had the time to try and figure this out and don't know exactly how to go about figuring it out. So the initial question is does OSE's anchor text distribution CSV include internal links or are they external only? And alternately, how do I test for this? I deal with sites that have tens or hundreds of thousands of pages and hundreds of thousands or millions of links...
