Google Analytics Campaigns
-
I need the help of a smart Mozzer.
In Google Analytics: Traffic Sources>Sources>Campaigns all the results shown are from RSS.
Can anyone help me with why RSS results would be displayed in Campaigns?

Hi Martin,
Good answer. I'm using feedburner and that's exactly what happens.

Hi Wayne,
Cool question! Visitors who visited your site from an RSS feed get listed as a campaign because the URLs from RSS feeds contain (in many cases) specific campaign tags for the post URLs. As an example we could take Rands blog on Moz.com/Rand. He is using Feedburner for his RSS and when you click on one of the URLs inside Feedburner you get redirected to:
As you can see &utm_campaign is part of the URL and this is the reason why you see visitors from an RSS feed in your Google Analytics campaigns.
Hope this helps Wayne!

More 'New users' than 'Users' in Google Analytics
Hey Mozzers, I'm seeing more 'New users' than 'Users' in Google Analytics (see screenshot). This is over a 3 year time period. Any idea why new users would be greater than users? Thanks! 6lYmU0j

Would updating Meta Titles affect Google analytics tracking?
Hi All, I need a little bit of help. We need to optimize our blog's articles Meta titles for SEO which all exceed 100 characters. I was told that if we change the titles, google analytics would split the tracking pages and count the data as 2 pages (old title and new title). Has any of you have this experience before and if so, is there a way to avoid google analytics counting this as two pages? Thanks in advance! Keeping Google Analytics Data when Moving to Subdomain
Hey All, Against my objections a client has decided to move an existing site into a subdomain while putting up a new site on the main domain. My question revolves around Google Analytics, how do I make sure that I don't lose historical data on the domain before it moves to a subdomain? We're going to be doing a redesign of the old site and I need to keep the historical data so I can prioritize content. What do I need to do? Or will Google analytics recognize the URL's and still attribute the data to those URL's or will I have a separate set of data based on the new URL (with the subdomain). Any insight would be appreciated! Thanks!

Google Analytics censoring keywords?
The top keyword on our real time GA is showing as a blank. There's a topic of a sexual nature in our talk threads trending on Twitter right now which is driving a lot of traffic and I'm wondering whether Google have censored the keyword. The next few keywords are our name and variants of. Could there be some other reason why this word isn't showing up? Has anyone else experienced this?
