Would you advise or not to include a sites name at the end of each title tage? Example "Top 3 things to do in New York | yoursite.com"

Having a discussion on if we should include our domain at the end of each site page.
Re read over the following pages and question remove the brand to keep under 70 characters? or Shorten the page Title before the brand? Let the title exceed 70 characters?
What is your thoughts?

Moosa and co.
Thanks. Our Domain is also our brand minus the .com so we have been adding the .com.
Our CMS has been auto adding to all page titles since day 1 and we are now looking to change this practice.
Thanks again and welcome any other suggestions.

that's what i said.. it should display when someone search for you in the search engine.
I think format can be different from website to website... for blog using this in the post will not really a good idea but if you are a service website with 15 to 20 pages that its great to use it on all pages.... where as with eCommerce the scenario is different...

Hi moosa i am agree with you, but if we want to use our site name for branding then we have to display it in SERP and for that we have to use it before 70 chars ends. don't think so that in every page we should add our site-name. We can add it in our most viewable pages.

I don’t believe on 70 characters theory anymore as Google is looking for pixels and title space that appears in search results is more depends upon pixels...
I think adding a company name (not URL) at the end of the title is great but it should appear in the search results... i don’t see any great SEO value out of it but it is surly great from the branding point of view...

Hi,
If you want to add your site name into page title then it is not a bad practice, you can add your site name as your brand name. SERP snippets displayed on 70 char so if you want to see your site name then you have to set your title within 70 char. If you want to make your title more than 70 char then you have to put your main keywords first. Page titles should be descriptive and concise and Brand your titles, but concisely. I have make my title Like
title: Web Development | Web Designing | Mobile Apps | Conversion Services - At Xhtmljunkies

Hi Harley2g,
Instead of the domain at the end of each title tag, I would just put the company (or website) name.
For example:
Keyword 1 | Keyword 2 | Company Name
I wouldn't put the ".com" at the end of the title tags.

Correct linking to the /index of a site and subfolders: what's the best practice? link to: domain.com/ or domain.com/index.html ?
Dear all, starting with my .htaccess file: RewriteEngine On
Technical SEO | | inlinear
RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} ^www.inlinear.com$ [NC]
RewriteRule ^(.*)$ http://inlinear.com/$1 [R=301,L] RewriteCond %{THE_REQUEST} ^./index.html
RewriteRule ^(.)index.html$ http://inlinear.com/ [R=301,L] 1. I redirect all URL-requests with www. to the non www-version...
2. all requests with "index.html" will be redirected to "domain.com/" My questions are: A) When linking from a page to my frontpage (home) the best practice is?: "http://domain.com/" the best and NOT: "http://domain.com/index.php" B) When linking to the index of a subfolder "http://domain.com/products/index.php" I should link also to: "http://domain.com/products/" and not put also the index.php..., right? C) When I define the canonical ULR, should I also define it just: "http://domain.com/products/" or in this case I should link to the definite file: "http://domain.com/products**/index.php**" Is A) B) the best practice? and C) ? Thanks for all replies! 🙂

We just recently moved site domains, and I tried to set up a new campaign for the new root domain, but it threw an error?
It threw an error saying we cannot access the SERPs of this site? Any reason why? It is an https:// site instead of the http://, but even our older domain had an https://

Wordpress "incoming search terms" plugin
Hello everyone! newbie to SEO and have been trying to keep everything nice and ethical but I've seen on a couple of blogs today "incoming search terms" at the bottom of the blogs, then a bullet pointed list of search terms beneath it. So I had a quick search about the use of it and noticed wordpress has a plugin that automatic ally generates these "incoming search terms". I ask is this a legitimate plugin or will this harm my blog? I assume it generally will as I can't see this being much use for the audience, rather it would be 100% for trying to lure in search engines.

Does Google follow links in "id" tag?
Hello, For functionality purposes, I need to wrap separate blocks of content with a tag. The main question is whether Google will follow this URL, even though it is not a hyperlink on the page, just a URL used for functionality purposes. We will have 10-20 of these types of span tags with a different URL for each one, and we just want to be sure that Google will not be following these URLs that are not links. Thanks!
