New Site Checklist - Links and Social Aspects
-
Hi
I have a new site which launched around 6 weeks ago, new domain name with a partial keyword match on it, so its going to be a long process but one which I want to tred along the right path for long term results
What I am looking for is a checklist if possible on sites that the site (which is a UK based home improvments company) should be listed on?
The difficulty is because it can seem a boring subject (windows and doors) it makes it difficult to find authentic quality links, especially with no big budgets or pools of article writers
I have registered against the likes of Brownbook, Yelp, Yell.com, Qype, Google Places covering the local aspect but what about the general external links
Is it advisable to stay away from directory listings, blog comments, forum posts etc which is what a lot of the competition are doing (weatherseal .co.uk anglianhome .co.uk etc

Anybody know what SEO agencies are doing the work for the following sites
weatherseal .co.uk
anglianhome .co.uk
www.doubleglazingoutlet.co.uk
and what do you think of their backlink profiles? For example I am sure weatherseal is starting to rank well dur o their sponsorship of the Scottish Premier League this season and getting links from the league and all of the member clubs
How can you compete with these sorts of companies online with their massive marketing budgets?

Unnatural Links To Your Site — Impacts Links warning, Should I do something?
Hi, I got: "Unnatural Links To Your Site — Impacts Links Google has detected a pattern of unnatural artificial, deceptive, or manipulative links pointing to pages on this site. Some links may be outside of the webmaster’s control, so for this incident we are taking targeted action on the unnatural links instead of on the site’s ranking as a whole. " I don't see any dropping at rankings, could the best solution here to be, just to leave everything as it is and be more careful with the link building in the future? Or is there a danger that Google gives further penalties if I don't act on this one do something? I am little afraid that if I start removing links, my rankings will drop, even though they have remained same if don't do anything? Any help is appreciated.

Will short linking to my site affect SERPs attribution of inbound link?
Some brand partners are using their short links to link back to our site (like bit.ly but they have their own). They have a high domain authority and trust so we want that link back to be read by Google. When I downloaded all inbound links from Moz, this brand's site was not listed, making me worried that the inbound link isn't being seen or considered! Haven't been able to find any info on this...

Links from my Own Blog to my Own Website and Link Scheme
Hi There, I use my own blog to give advices and offer information related to my business service. Of course in terms of SEO my blog is useful not only to expand my brand presence but also to acquire long-tail traffic. I use to insert a maximum of one link with a relative matching anchor text in every article of my blog pointing to my own webpage. Said that, the questions are as follows: Am I involuntarily participating in a Link Scheme with my blog? And If so, how many links can I send to my own webpage ? Shall I limit the number of links to a minimum? Thanks a lot for your advices.

Link building during link removal
We were advised by out outsourced link removal vendor not to build any links while they are removing links pointing to our site. I am worried that our site will lose significant traffic if we dont build any new links while waiting for them to remove links that caused our site to be penalized. What are your thoughts?

More than 2K dofollow links, from one site with one anchor text?
A week ago one person of our team added a link with anchor text on a web directory website PR5, but from this one link, Google indexed more than 2K links from this website with same anchor text, and then our keyword ranked first on SERP. The problem is that this clearly look like SPAM to Google, so which way is better to remove this link, with disawow tool, or to contact the web directory site owner?Could anyone give me any advice for this?

Are my new resource sites worthless?
I have ended up with several hundred sites which I purchased off the seo company I use as they went belly up. I purchased them as I had spent a small fortune buying links for the years and I thought that if they went under all my links would be lost. When they transferred the sites into my accounts in go daddy the owners names changed to one owner! Therefore google either know that I own them or at the very least know that only a few people own them as I had four go daddy accounts. Previously they were all registered to different people. The registrar details have since been changed to various owners but I guess the damage is done. I have gone from pos3 pg1 to pos3 pg2. I ranked highly for lots of terms and they have all dropped. I don’t want to be using black hat techniques and my intention was to continue to build content on these sites with a view to adding links to other relevant sites in the future. Not all of them link to me and they do link to lots of other sites that the seo company did work for To be honest my only concern short term was not to loose the links. Now I feel the links are considered worthless by google and I don’t know if I should keep the sites or throw them away! I think all the sites need redesigning and updating and this is what I intended to do. However now that google have seen that they once were owned by one person have they become worthless?
