Google Results Title Tag HELP
-
Can anybody tell us why Google changes your title tag in the SERP?
If you check out the below link or type in 'days inn', you will see the 2nd result for www.daysinnrc.co.uk just says 'Days Inn' but on the actual site the title tag for this page is
'Days Inn UK | Days Inn | Daysinnrc.co.uk'
This has happened with another site too, does anybody know why?
Thanks

See Matt Cutts explanation here http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=NlJiLDn9-38
Personally im seeing titles change in a number of instances:
- Title might be too long (doesnt fit in SERP snippet)
- The same keyword/s used multiple times
Ive also noticed that the replacement titles, which appear to be fairly random do seem to have patterns:
- The replacement title usually appends the domain to the end i.e. Red Widgets - Widgets.com
- The replacement title seems to use a word/phrase from one of the following: breadcrumb, h1, url
Its interesting to note that a) the original title will still help rankings as normal for the keyword in the title b) theres no real explanation of what a 'better' title is i.e. do the revised titles inc CTR?

Yeah - I would suggest a more optimized page title. You have 'Days Inn' duplicated twice.

Google have said that if they will change title tags to something more relevent if yours isn't quite doing it for them. This came as part of an algorithm update back around May 2012 I think it was.
Look at what they changed it to and think about re-writing yours

Commas in title tags
Hello Guys, Thanks in advance for all who can help me with this I am helping a dinnerware company with their SEO. I told them to change their ambiguous title tags for more specific ones. However, they opted to create some title tags with 2 or three keywords separated by commas. I have attached an excel image illustrating their new title tags.. My question is, will this format be a problem with Google--penalties? The questionable title tags are highlighted in light orange. Thanks! lHH92

Google Increases Titles and Meta Descriptions Length
So, we now know that Google are changing the Title and Meta Desc length limits to 70 and 200 respectively. Does this mean we all need to jump to immediate attention and modify all our current pages OR, do we wait?

H4: Follow Us As you can see, there are a lot. I feel the H3 and H4 tags do not really add any value or explain what the site is about, so I'll probably remove these. In relation to the H2s, do you think I should demote some of these to H3 or even H4 tags? Also, terms like 'Posters' is very vague, would this be better as 'Poster Printing'? Thanks, Lewis0 -
Canonical tags in the body?
Hi there, Does anyone know if placing canonical tags in the body instead of the header of a page will still "take"? The system we are on means that making an editable header is no easy business and I was just wondering how big of a difference it makes to have it in a different area. Thank you in advance.

Benefits of having a Title-Tag that fits on the SERP
Has anyone seen any case studies that show that title-tags that fit on the page (http://moz.com/blog/new-title-tag-guidelines-preview-tool) have a higher ctr than title-tags that don't fit? I know it's been said that keywords past the pixel limit still matter but if there's a major benefit to ctr for title-tags that fit....Any thoughts?

Why will google not index my Images
Hi I've added to index images in our sitemap although they are showing as being submitted Google hasn't indexed a single one. This has been the case for about 3 months. Is there any reason why Google would not index them? Thanks

The problema is that the keyrord is there but in uper case while i introduced a lower case keyword for analysis (see the example). BEAUTY (it's in the page title) beauty (that's the keyword i'm analysing) Regards, OV
